  2. THIS A START am going to put Truelight's entry in here for starters Gotta love good free programs! I think these two are quite good in that they are simple, without bloat, get the job done, and best of all - Free! PhotoPrint CD Jacket and PhotoPrint Calendar http://www.bento.ad.jp/freeware/english/index.html Enjoy!! ken
  3. Agree ********** 10 stars i think that is what Casey was working towards we have been thru a very big year Igor had to get a new host Igor made numerous upgrades to the program the other forum was getting way out of hand let us stop the snowball now before it gets too big and we end up with a hodgepoge forum again my 2 cents Canadian -- granted it aint worth much on the world market, but the best we can do an example of a forum with the sort of things we need can be seen at http://www.windowsbbs.com/ it will show the last active posts in each category etc I imagine Invision would modify for our needs -- 'tis up to Igor to ask -- but if Igor and co are busy sorting out the layout and trying to institute getting all the old posts up to this forum something has to suffer -- and that will be revising/updating 3.8 will have to go on hold you cant have your cake and eat it too so people what's it gonna be ????????? voice your comments so that Igor can see which direction to go -- BUT dont start another thread keep it in this one ken

  7. Harry is a longtime member and in the past we in the forum have helped a lot of members with problems that are not related to P2E. Last time we helped Harry we tried to spec a laptop for him, so that eventually he could display his productions to potential customers ken
  8. Guido, put on your rose tinted glasses ken
  9. A 25 meg file + the p2e overhead [which is minimal] would only take +- 1 min to burn with a 32 x burner if your picts were ok before the burn they will be the same quality after the burn i just burned a copy of a cd with 14 tunes on it -- not mp3's in approx +- 8 mins with my 32x burner are you trying to figure out how p2e does it -- well Igor's holds the secret are you suprised it works so well -- good if you have a problem, you are going to have to give us more details in an orderly manner so the experts on the forum have half a chance of helping you ken
  10. this is James "Slugman" O'Reardon's fav site http://www.vividlight.com/ especially moose peterson's section http://www.vividlight.com/articles/2103.htm the info and picts at this whole site is enough to make me cash in some investments and start taking picts again ken
  11. yeh they can burn as many as they like - dont think there has a simple copy protection plan invented yet -- just deal with honest people and you wont have to worry the only thing you could do is click off the expire box after x# days -- but you could upset your customer and end up selling them nothing ken
  12. also try copying the exe to the 98/ME machine's desktop and try running from there ken
  13. if you are emailing a how to plse add me to list -- one never knows when it might save the day thks ken pbyk@sympatico.ca
  14. let's hope all our problems will be behind us ken
  15. Bothell, one of the problems that stop reg keys getting to people is they have their security settings set too hi or imroper --this is a known problem with OE. Norton type antivirus programs will also block the key -- the key has a .reg extension and this one of the extensions that OE and the "norton's" block. ken

  17. As the saying goes locks only keep out honest people and when there is a will, there is a way when Igor gets the archives up do a search for copying pictures -- this question should be one of the subtitles Igor!!!! 19. the best image is a tiff BUT for p2e shows jpgs saved at 75 to 80% compression seems to work well for most users/views so resave your tiffs as jpegs -- i use Irfanview for this see http://www.irfanview.com/english.htm make sure you get the plugins as well irfanview will do a multitude of things so if you open a tif, give it one or clicks on the sharpen feature - resize it to 640/480 or 800/600, then do a "save as" as a jpg -- the resulting slide will be <100kb ken
  20. In case some of you lost the url to Dana's wish list [tho it is not updated] see http://home.san.rr.com/dawhites/pte.htm ken
  21. Other members have had satisfactory results with pictures in the range of 60 to 100 kb size for example -- at present i have a show that has +- 240 jpgs 640/480 final size saved at 75% compression/72dpi with no sound it is +- 12.5 meg with 6 mp3's and the same # of jpgs it is +-26.2 meg ken
  22. It seems the pages are loading faster but guess work doesnt count -- we should have been logging data so Igor would have some data to present to Invision ken
  23. Igor Is it possible to have the layout changed or is it cut and dried how it is going to be. for example I would like to see a flag on a topic that I have commented on maybe that feature is there but i have not located it yet I like the subscribe to a topic feature - -quite a few of my news groups have this The add reply button shoud be integrated into the post so that my reply is to that specific reply not a reply the the whole topic just some Sunday morning musings -- Rome wasn't built in a day. ken
  24. Granot i just sent you the gory details by email ken
