I want each image to be the full size of the screen with the logos / text on top of the image

If you look at Project Options/Screen you will see there is an option to add a Watermark

Simply create an image that has your Logo/text - you can do this as a separate Project in PTE & the save that image as a png.

You then add this image as a Watermark & it will appear on every Slide.

What I need is a camera that's reliable

Rosy, if the Nikon has a digital viewfinder rather than optical, check that you can actually see it clearly first.

I know your eyesight isn't the best, I am the same & when I looked at Nikon (having been a Nikon SLR & DSLR user for about 30 years) I found that I couldn't see the image in the viewfinder clearly. The only camera I could see at the time I bought my last one was a Panasonic. This was several years ago & things no doubt have changed.

  3. Jane & Igor,

I have installed 11.0.9 & tried out some of the Transitions such as Slide, Dissolve with Blur, 3D Cube etc on a new project.
Windows 10 with the latest updates.

All seem to work OK, I have saved & reopened the Project several times.

Also moved slides around & changed Transitions back to Dissolve then back to those below the Displacement Map ones.
    No problems at all.

Jane did you have your Project open when Windows updated?
Not that I can see how it would have caused this problem.

But it still seemed to work my long winded way!

    Yes it will do.

Another way is to rename the Take7a to something like Take7aOld or move it to different folder so that PTE not find it & will say there is a missing file.
You then point it to the replacement File Take8a & it will replace all the files in one go.

Is there any way I can do this without starting again in Audacity and repeating the whole editing process in PTE?

Hi Mike, PTE does not physically edit the File, all changes are virtual.

Simply equalise your existing File in Audacity and save it as the same name. (make a copy first just in case)

Next Time you open PTE it will pick up the new equalised version & all of the edits done in PTE will still apply.

pause for a second or so at the beginning

In O&A Properties tab, select Offset (just under Adjust Time Range) & enter the time you want to pause it for.

So if you want the pause to be 2 secs then enter 0:02.000

As you have found making the Slide time longer than the duration of the video gives you the pause at the end, just remember to add in the extra time for the start.

  7. If you click on an image (Slide) in the Slide List & then click Objects & Animation you can adjust the size & position of the image.

You will see in the preview window that the image has grab handles around it.
Just drag these with your mouse to get the appearance you want.

If you are enlarging the image it is best to make sure it has enough pixels to do this, but PTE does a brilliant job of displaying them whatever size.

It is an excellent piece of software, very simple to use but also extremely powerful once you get to grips with it.

    Enjoy

  8. Are you using Multiple Tracks?

If so then then the Delete Track 'x' will just delete that Track.

If you have multiple Clips on one Track, then just select the Clip (click it) and then press the Deelete Key on your keyboard.

That will just delete that Clip

    1. There is a lot of jumpiness

Agree with this, it would be very helpful if the Slide could stay in the same position when switching

When I calculate the slide duration for a group of slides to match the music

Full Slide Duration - Turn OFF in Settings/Preferences/Project
If you already have some slides with Full Duration on then you can turn them off in Slide Options/Main

I always Move/Add/Delete Slides in Slide View & use Timeline View for adjusting Transitions & Slide Duration by looking at the waveform and matching to that.
As you have found clicking on the dividing line between 2 slides just adjust the duration of that & the previous Slide.
Clicking on the centre of a Slide adjusts that Slide & all those to the Right of it

    3. If I select a group of, say, 5 slides and apply a style

I never use Slide Styles for this very reason, also every combination of 2 Slides is Unique so I would never want the same thing twice.

    4. Add more information to the info line at the bottom of the screen.

Settings/Preferences/Toolbars - select & position exactly what you want to show & where

    5. I had real difficulty trying to trim video

Hopefully video editing will be a lot easier in PTE 12
Place your Playhead where you want it & look at the Time under the mini preview window - make a note of it

Then drag the next Slide left & look at the Time displayed at the far left next to Time Points - set it to the same value

    6. The program’s cmd-Z (ctlr-Z) for UnDo works great.

Agree this would be useful to have a list of the changes made

  10. If you are working on a show & want to update an image, click on the image & press CTRL+W - first make sure that you have set Photoshop as your graphical editor in settings/preferences/system

Make the changes in PS & save it.

Then when back in PTE click onto another image & then click back on the one just edited & the changes should show.

If you have closed PTE and then edited the image, the changes should show when you next open PTE

All the above assumes that you have saved the changes in PS to the same filename.

It is good practice to never work on original files, but always do a Save As first with a new name.
PTE does not make any alterations to the images whatever you do in it, but obviously changes in PS will alter the image.

  11. In settings/Preferences/Project you can tick the 'save a copy of the project in a .bak file  (in PTE11)

This does at least give you the option to go back to the previous change.

I never use the Autosave option for the reasons you state & prefer to do a Save As with a new name (increment) every so often.

With your suggestion you could end up with an awful lot of copies & not know which changes had been applied to each

  12. I've not had any problems opening older shows as far as I can remember, but it's not something I do that often.

Also most of mine are set up as Templates, so I just open them from the Template list within PTE.

Maybe Igor will pick this up tomorrow & come up with an answer.

To be honest I never look at 'Main Object' or to see which images are highlighted in the FileList, so I wouldn't notice if there was a problem.
