Hi, I wonder if this is a known situation. When creating a MAC sequence that contains .WAV files these files do not play. It is my normal habit to use MP3 when adding audio but in one particular project which contained five tracks each with many clips I became lazy and used some .wav files which play back perfectly from a PC .exe sequence so assumed the same would be true with a MAC version– not the case it appears. Anybody else found this? Can anything be done about it Igor? It's not a big issue for me as I almost always convert to MP3 though sadly not on this occasion which caused me a bit of embarrassment. Hi I just have to share this with any other Mac/Parallels user. I have just upgraded to Parallels 9 from 8 in readiness for OS XMavericks due to be released soon. As part of the deal Parallels areoffering an app (Parallels Access) that enables remote access fromthe iPad to the main computer. I have been able to access PTE 8 Beta5from my iPad and edit a sequence I am presently working on. I have noidea if there are any limitations – time will tell. I am also able to access my library of PTE (PC) sequences and playthem on the iPad. Clearly WiFi access is necessary and the host iMac has to bepowered up. I am most impressed. Cheers John

I have been creating MAC versions of my slide shows in Windows XP pro for months now, with great success! I create them by using the 'Create in Zip' option and then copy the resulting zip file over to my MAC desktop. Then a simple 'double click' extracts the zip file and the usual PTE exe logo appears. This then runs the slide show with a single click. BUT, in Windows 8, this does not happen thus the slide show will not run :(/> If I right click on the PTE logo and select 'Show Package Contents' I get a series of folders that mean nothing to me (see screenshot attached) Can anyone help me with this problem please? Hi I'm using P2E 7.5.10, when I go to 'Publish Show/Executable file for mac' a pop up window appears telling me I need to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition, but if I carry on it creates the show anyway, but I can't get it to play on a MacBook Pro running the latest os, I have downloaded other peoples shows for the mac and they work just fine. If I go through the same process and create a show for the ipad I get the same pop up window, but again it creates the show and it plays on the iPad. (with a trial version banner) Am I doing something wrong with the Mac or do I need to upgrade to the latest deluxe edition, seems strange that it works for the ipad and not the mac. Any help given would be much appreciated. I have been sent a zip file of a PTE show, which once unpacked, gives me the following: ALL-Mac, (44.2Mb, which my machine recognises as a PTE7.5 application), info.plist (877 bytes), launcher (344k), PkgInfo (9 bytes). I am on a Macbook Pro 17", OSX 10.8.4. The App has a pale blue "play" arrow on it, but clicking that, or double clicking, does nothing. I've searched the rest of this forum, and hope I'm not repeating a question. Am I missing something really stupid here?

I hunted through the Forum but cant find an answer. I KNOW that without putting some sort of Windows on my Mac I cannot create slideshows. But I want to be able to SHOW a slideshow on my Mac or on my iPad or even upload to YouTube. The slideshows in the demo e.g. Jazz etc show perfectly well. What do I have to do? Thanks Carol

Just Emailed my Nephew to open a recent file on my website...Mac....as I don't have a Mac. He said the most recent Mac won't open it. He has an earlier version which works fine. He has a PHD and is in the software field and DNA field. He seems to be up to date on this stuff. The most recent Mac version is Mountain Lion...and they won't open an EXE file from an unknown developer. Any thoughts or info. Jeff Lunt

I have bought a Touchpad 9 9" Android Tablet and was hoping to put some of my sequences on it to show to friends who do not have a computer. The tablet refuses to play them, probably because they are obviously exe files. Can anyone offer a solution as to how I can display them please?

At the moment I use a 'Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS' to enhance the sound quality on my Windows XP system and the sound produced by this is excellent. I recently purchased an iMac 27" and the first thing I noticed was that the sound (although good) just did not match up to the Audigy2 system. I am wondering if there is similar hardware available for the Mac? Any suggestions would be most welcome. Ron.

Hi There, I am trying to install Windows 7 Home Premium on my mac, I'm running Lion 10.7.4 and when I attempt I get the following errors Unable to retrieve kernel zone sizes. Failed to initialize monitor device. Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to. This worked in Snow Leopard but now having problems. Does anyone know how to get around this to complete the install. Thanks .....

Hi, Can anybody enlighten me to an interesting discovery I have made while playing around with PTE on a MacBookPro using Parallels. A little bit of background. I am trying to create a manually controlled slideshow that will enable me to, at any unknown in advance point, leave the show and go to the desktop to activate some other media i.e. MP4, Powerpoint etc and then return to PTE at the point I left. I can't find any way of doing this by "Publishing a Show", however, if I invoke "Preview" I get the usual window which I can size to almost fill the screen but also an icon like a PTE.exe icon in the Dock which when clicked returns me to the point I was at when I minimised the "Preview" with the orange button. Also the main PTE Interface is removed from the desktop. The end result is "relatively" slick and workable but by no means ideal. I was not able to capture the label associated with the above icon but it reads "PteViewer.exe". I have not noticed this anywhere else before. Any ideas? John

Hi, Has anybody tried to create a PTE menu show for running on a Mac? I have no problem using a menu on a PC but am failing miserably to get it to work on a Mac. Clearly I can create shows individually that will work beautifully on the Mac but the menu option beats me! Anybody had any success? John P.S. Using Lion on a PBP and Mountain Lion on an iMac, both with Parallels.

I have a new MacBook Pro 15 "8 GB ram 512 Gb video OS 8.1.Parallells and Windows 7.1. (hi resolution 1680 pix) The show "Jazz" runs perfectly. I test even further with PTE Greatings Luc M MacBook Pro.tiff

Does anybody tried to launch slideshows on OSX 10.8 Montain Lion?

Hi Everyone! I want to ask this question to the community: has anybody tried to pass a slideshow created for mac to a mac user that has the old G4 G5 powerpc based mac? Does anybody know if the show play correctly if at all? I have no means of testing this and would like to make a PTE show available to Mac powerpc-based users. Thanks to all. regards, Rob

I have created a slide show and used the option to 'Create exe for Mac' It seems to have created a folder with a number of files within it. Being a newbie to the Mac computer,I am confused. How do you transfer the Mac EXE over to the Mac for playing? Ron

Hello, I purchased a MacBook pro (last year model). I installed iOS X Lion. I installed on my Mac the software "Parallels Desktop" to run a Windows 7 virtual machine. I can run PTE. I can make .EXE files and run them on the Windows 7 VM. I can make executables for Mac. But when I copy them on my Mac Desktop and try to launch them, nothing happens Any idea what could be the problem ? Thank you for your help. PS : I can run on my Mac executables made by others PTE users (bbdigital by example).

HI I have recently changed my computer to MAC and have bought FUSION 3 so that I am still able to create slideshows in PTE. I am using PTE 7 Beta 12 - Deluxe version and I have created my show and also created a DVD video version of it which has run smoothly and come up with the 'successful tick' at the end. There is clearly something on the dVD but when I come to play it on my DVD player or on my computer it appears blank! I transferred the whole thing back to my old PC - did exactly the same thing and it worked fine! I thought at first it was because my source images were not stored on the windows partition of my mac hard drive so I moved them all and rebuilt the show - but this didn't solve the problem. Can anyone suggest where I am going wrong please? Thanks Joy Newbould

I have recently taken the plunge and am in the process of changing from PC's to Macs. I bought my first about 12 months ago a MacBook Pro and recently an iMac. On both of these I have installed VMWare Fusion and PTE, although use on the MacBook has been very light. I was in the middle of developing a sequence on my PC when my speakers packed in so I transferred it on to the iMac. No problem until I started to run my sequence from the timeline or Preview buttons. The sequence just stuttered along, now I know this sequence is very heavy on O&A but I had no problems with the PC with 12GB, i7 Processor, 1GB graphics card. The iMac has 16GB, i7 processor and 2GB graphics card. I found within Fusion there is Virtual Machine - Settings - Processors & Memory in which I have set Processor to 8 and Memory to 8GB, the maximum it will allow but I still get stuttering in a slightly different way. If I make an alteration to my sequence and then position the arrow in time line and play then it stutters and does this several times until eventually it runs smoothly. Is there anything I am missing that I can do to change this situation Tony Falla

I can create an exe file which runs okay when clicked on, but the PTE file which I save in my slideshow folder shows when saving, but when I later go to that folder my slideshow is not there and can only bring it up if I go to Recent Files in main programme

Hi I previously posted a topic on 29th July regarding the ability of PTE to import video clips from my Nikon Coolpix S8000. I received lots of advice from Yachtsman 1, Lin Evans and Boogie but have not yet purchased the software. I have a few more questions: 1) Can I install PTE on my home computer that runs Windows 7 but is not connected to the internet? If that is possible how would I receive updates; to my yahoo email account? 2) Is there a video converter within PTE that can translate Nikon.mov files. Will the soundtrack be preserved? Ed.
