  1. Hi All, As is evident from some recent 'threads' on the Forum many Mac Users are starting to use the PTE Slideshow Program on their Mac Pcs. I have noted that there seems to be a lack of Hardware Utilities and Software Utilities for these owners. I hope the following will address some of these problems ~ * There are over 100 Audio/Video Hardware solutions available to Mac Users. * iPOD's suitable for use with PTE and the Macs are the "Nan0-2" and "iPOD 5-G" * All have inbuilt USB.2 Utilities and Memories of +1.Gb (Some Models up to 8.Gb) * Sound and Picture capture quality are superb with the correct Attachments. * These small "Universal Memory Bunkers" are ideal for Photographers on the move. The problem so far is the availability of the Attachments and Accessories & Software. Here is the answer:- Griffin Technologies are the 'de-facto' Manufacturer of Mac and iPod Accessories and below is a link to their very extensive Web Site (be warned it takes time to explore) http://www.griffintechnology.com/ Here below are some instructions to get going with their Web Site.. Enjoy, Brian.Conflow.
  2. I have just this moment installed PTE on my new Intel mac via a small bit of software called crossover. I do not have to run windows at all. Although I have had PTE for a year or two I have not used it for a very ling time so am looking forward to having a go on the Mac (another learning curve.) I just wanted to share this, maybe useless information with you and to see if anyone else is using the program on a Mac
  3. Does anyone know of any freeware software that allows Mac computers to run PTE slideshows please Geoff
  4. I realize I'm in uncharted territory here... I recently acquired a Macbook Pro, having previously used XP to create and play my slideshows. The first VM for Intel Mac (Parallels) was released this week (my thanks to those who flagged this on another thread with the Boot Camp and brought it to my attention), and I installed it along with XP, and have been trying to play my slideshows on it. Slideshows that I created prior to May 2004 are playing. Sometime between Feb and May 2004, I upgraded my Pictures2Exe, and slideshows that I've created since then stall on the first slide. I'm trying to troubleshoot this a little to see if I can provide some useful information to Parallels. Were there some significant changes to the display engine or other components in PTE in the late 2003 or early 2004 time frame? All of my newer slideshows stall on the first slide, unfortunately. I'd like to try to get to the bottom of this, since PTE is one of my major reasons for wanting a Windows VM. Thanks for any clues!
  5. I have my first client with a family member that can not view my slideshow because they own a Mac. Does anyone have an alternative for a slideshow with an expiration date that is viewable on Macs? Or a way to make this viewable on Macs? I do want to have an expiration date because I sell my slideshows to many of my clients.
  6. Are there any conversion programs to make the slide show exe's work on an Apple? All we get now, when clicking on the file, is a panel asking for the ADOBE reader program like the slide show is a PDF file???
  7. I don't want to open up a can of worms... but, I have received P2E files from friends who are PC users that I am unable to view as a Mac user. Is there any way to translate or convert a P2E file to view on the Mac platform? As a Mac user, if I could suggest to the developers, a cross platform viewing assist would be a great addition to your product... just a thought. thanks
  8. Guest PC is another computer inside your Mac. That computer is an emulated x86 PC. Shortcut to: http://www.lismoresystems.com/ KEN
  9. Hi As an avid fan of PTE I hope you will forgive me for this post, it's only out of necessity that I am doing it. I know there have been plenty of requests for a cross platform version of PTE and as far as I know this isn't about to happen any time soon. This is a real problem for me and desparately need to find a solution for Mac that complements (not replaces) PTE so that can please all of Mac-based clients. At the moment, they just give me a withering look when I say "sorry this only works on PC"! Does anyone know of a piece of software that works on Mac and approaches the quality of PTE? I tried Quicktime without success and am currently having to use the web gallery function in Photoshop to fill the gap, which is rather lame to say the least. Hope you can help. Cheers. Phill
  10. I need to make a show on my site available for Mac users. Does anyone else convert their PTE shows for those users? If so, how and what do you use? Quicktime Pro is giving me problems.
  11. A friend of mine informed me that she can not view exe files on her MAC computer. Is there going to be a solution for this? A problem exists if I upload my slide shows to my websites and MAC uses can't view them after downloading because they didn't know they can't view EXE files. Is there a solution? I know Power Point presentations can be viewed with a free download program if the person doesn't have Power Point on their pc. I read the old msgs, no real solution.
  12. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to view an .exe file on a mac.
  13. I have been this morning to a demo of Virtual PC 7 on a Power Mac G5. VPC was settled to emulate XP Pro. First we have tried to run a PTE.exe file of about 20 picture which has been built with PTE 4.01. No sucess, the program stops after the first picture, but the music continue to run. 1,5 giga of memory was allowed for VPC. The microsoft representative has made several trials witout any success. Thereafter we have tried to install PTE 4.30 without success. As a matter of fact we had the same results that I have with VPC 5 on my G4 dual processors of 1 giga. I must point out that everything goes well with the nomade PC of my wife which runs with XP Home. Papybateau.
  14. PTE runs on APPLE MAC's Yes I have some "News" for all you 'MAC Users' and those contemplating a 'MAC Purchase'. There have been many enquiries on the Forum about running PTE Shows on MAC Computers ? Yes, this is now possible either when you buy a "New Mac" or wish to 'Upgrade' your 'Old MAC' The special Program by Microsoft is called:- "Virtual PC" and retails from $40 - $70 Its purchased as a 'Software Package' and simply downloaded to your MAC Computer. It comes in various editions:- XP Home + XP Pro, 2000 Home + 2000 Pro, NT and others. Because the 'Apple Mac' is essentially a 'Unix' operating System it readily recognises this new Program. We have already "tested" the 'Virtual PC Program' here in our Workshops on two Portable Mac's - everything ran O.K However I recommend you:- Contact your Local PC.or Software Store for a Trial or contact Microsoft Products to verify same. 15. I've been told that there is a way for Mac users to be able to see images from a Pix2EXE cd. Does anyone know their way around this? My client would like to have it be his screen saver on his Mac and I don't know if it can be done. Thanks in advance.

  17. I believe that I have read that PTE does not work for Macs. I have a client for whom I made a slideshow but he can not open an exe file. Is there some way to create a slide show that Mac users can view. I tried to copy the temporary avi file created for dvd but was not able to do so. Anybody have a suggestion or solution?
  18. I know that Macintosh computers cannot run an exe file. But after we convert the pte to an avi file, there are other options as to what it is converted to from there. Is there a particular format that might work so that Mac users can view our shows? Options like Quick Time, Real Media, or leaving as an MPEG2? ~Cindy
  19. is it possible to create a slide show with p2e wich can be used in a website ( also visible for MAC users)? thank you
  20. Sorry if this is an 'old chestnut' - but I have a photographer friend who needs some advice on this.. Do the .exe files run in the Mac environment? What about P2E? If not any ways around this? Many thanks - oh wise and elustrious council.. (did I spell that right?) J G
  21. I 've forgotton, does a show work on a Mac Graham
  22. I have the Pic to EXE and am going to be upgrading my computer to a MAC. Can I just download an upgrade for the MAC without paying again? I'm selling my laptop and will be deleting the current version. And is the PEXE even available in a MAC platform? Thanks, Terri Shaver
