  2. Monday, november 11th. Middle of the afternoon : On a small train, recently inaugurated,I climbed up to the top of the mountain, the Puy de Dôme which overlooks the town where I am living. Only1440 meters high, but in spite of the sun, it was terribly cold…. It was the last fine day ; now, it is in the snow…From the top, we can see the whole range of the Puys, the Limagne plain and a part of Clermont Ferrand. Thanks for your comments

  3. Landogne is a small village (200 inhabitants), 40 km far from Clermont-Ferrand ( France )

Everyyear, about 80 "crèches" (nativity crib scenes) originating from different countries or designed by local artists are exposed here.

Materials can be very diverse: clay , paper mache ("papier mâché"), african wood, pickaxes, Play Mobil, etc..

  4. Thank you , Rick235 . I use to expose on the right of the histogram to have matter in the white walls .

Mickp : I can understand you , but all this people do voluntary this procession and is happy to do it . The religious sense is very deep in Sapin ; great mysticals are spanish . But , half an hour later , they were in restaurants eating eastern cakes and drinking wine . All the autorities of the village are present ... Each country has his way to pratice religion and other way of life , and , for me , it is a good thing ! Sorry for my poor english ...

    Regards

  5. This procession is a village one ( Peniscola , Spain ) : very simple, without a tourist, few flowers on purpose (because of the crisis...).

    Easter sunday. Half past eight.

The sky is blue but a cold wind is blowing on Peñiscola.

The procession of "el Encuentro" is beginning.

In fact the Virgin of la Ermita is coming out of the castle church and goes through the streets of the top of Peñiscola.

At the same time, the Christ is coming out of the parish church and crosses the bottom of the village.

They meet, front to front, in the middle of the main street ; the Virgin turns back after being greeted by the firecrackers and goes with the Christ to the parish church. She then goes back to her church.

  6. I love very much your photos , Maureen ; great warm colors , and out of the usual and well known sites . Ones in north part of the city ?

For the music .... I prefer the second one , but perhaps too nostalgic for me too .... But Venice is Venice .

    Very pleasant slide show !

Patrick must do a slide show with his grandchilds and colorated ice creams in Venice in the summer ...( I know he loves icecreams too :P ) .Surely a handling problem to do both things ...

  7. Daniel,

This was an area I had not seen or heard of before.

    Davy

    Thank you , Davy .

This area is a familar one in a great part ; Bordeaux is near and a great number of families has a boat and/or a house there .

The climate there is very good during the winter .

The northern part of the basin is a quiet place of residence for many personalities.

This part is the domain of fishermen and hunters .

    Best regards

    daniel

  8. Thank you Bill for your appreciation and hosting .

Lin : this area is famous for the quality of its cuisine ...Many hunting and fishing people ; there is a photo that shows a palombière; this type of hunting, to my knowledge, is only practiced in this region. People does not live in this little houses ; now , they are used to set the equipment and spend the day with family . Remember : we are in the south of wine Bordeaux production ...

The oysters do not produce pearls .... Their destination is to be eaten and reproduction ; spat is set on tiles whitewashed ( local manner ) and sent to other regions of production .

Eric : I just have a very little moire on a roof ; I had try to put it off , but , finaly , I prefered to conserve it with good good sharpness ; perhaps a problem of capacity of the PC ? I just put it on other PC ( laptop ) and no more problem .. Thank for your comment .

Sorry for my poor english ; I hope that google translation has help me !!
