  1. I think a lot of people in the USA are tired of the whining, complaining and rioting about a validly conducted election under the Constitution, that has served well for hundreds of years, that did not meet their desires.  Perhaps it is time for an appeal for unity not a repeat of what is appearing on the airwaves over and over again by a biased media. We are one nation under God. Whether I voted for one or the other candidate does not matter. It is how each of us can be our best and contribute to the good of the nation. That is a core value of a democracy. It is true of any county.  There is another election in four years.

I agree with the landsberger comments.

  2. I am going to have to reinstall everything on my computer after a problem with Windows.  I have spent hours with Dell and Microsoft. I have some styles that I would like to save and copy to the new computer. I am looking at the files in the list and nothing seems real evident to me as to where they are located so that I might do this. Can anyone tell me where they might be stored?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. I take it that many of these beautiful pictures were the result of adding Topaz Impression.  If there is another filter that you used, I would love to know.

Was this done with pictures from a reenactment of something that was taken before? If you took these from a reenactment, they are terrific.

Thank you for sharing. They are an inspiration. Your work and videos are always superior.

  4. This was a wonderful demo of some of the complex things it can do with a few simpler ones thrown in.

I am not an advanced user, so some would scare me off, at least for a while.

I think that to "sell" the program to a wider audience that ranges from the beginner to the more advanced, someone should make a professional quality series of basic and intermediate videos that show the things it could do , and then put links to some "how to do videos" that might be free. They could go from the simple to the more complex in an ascending progression. Barry has some fine ones, but most people do not want to spend extra money just to get started. That can come later. They want to get started and are not at the experimenting stage. They want to be successful right away. Put the links to the videos and demos right on the home page. Do not make people hunt.

Marketing is something that I have always thought was a weak point of this program compared to others. It is a wonderful program and I have so much to learn to be good at it. I appreciate all the help that I can get.

    Just a thought.

  5. This makes simple things so much quicker. Thanks for the generous sharing. You are making it so much easier for those of us who are not as talented and knowledgeable to create slide shows that are so much better.

I noticed that these go into the album section and not user styles.  I just have to remember that.

  6. Thank you for making this available.

I used to won many of your products, but, unfortunately, they were lost through a crash, and I cannot find the back ups. I would love it if you would once again put  your styles etc, backup. They made my slide shows so much better. I have not the talent to create what you do.

I hope that you make a wedding style available similar to what you showed. It is wonderful.

Thanks again. I look forward to once again getting some of your work in the future.

  7. It was so good to see a post from theDom. His album was wonderful. I know that I am one of many who would love to see his site up and running again. here were so many wonderful templates etc. I had some, but unfortunately, something happened and I lost them. I am not knowledgeable to talent enough to recreate them or anything close.

  8. I love the look. It would be wonderful if somebody did a tutorial on Youtube or? that would explain the basics simply.

The one big thing PTE lacks, in my opinion, which I think stunts it s growth, is a wide variety of simple tutorials that go beyond the basics. Other programs have tons that people and the producer of the program create. It is one thing to write the directions, but it is so much better if one couples it with video of it being done with the result included. There is a good help page, but so much more is needed to bring a user, like myself, up to speed on the neat techniques.

Something to think about. Maybe a director of education. Perhaps you should check out Topaz Lab tutorials. That company is probably the best for educating people about their products in a step by step mode. They usually end up with 600 to 1000, which I think is their limit, on their webinars. Then they put them on Youtube.

  9. I presume that one would still have to download to get PTE so it should be no problem activating it at that time. the second computer might have to wait until one gets the Internet connection. Most good software today requires on line activation.

The key here is for Igor to provide a deactivation choice under the help menu so that one can move the license from one computer to another. Unless there is a deactivation choice, then one would have a difficult time getting it done. Corel has that problem as they have no deactivation key. You have to contact them, apparently, to get it done. that is a mess.

One does not have to be on line to use PTE.

  10. Thank you. It took me a while to figure out how to load it, but it is great.

I hate to be picky, but how would one get the background picture to be like the slide styles with frames provided in 8?

I really would like to know how to do this so I could create other styles or adjust this one. Is there something written or ??/ that would get me started? Is there a way to find the commands or whatever you did to create this as a learning tool?

I think the ability to do this and other things I have seen on the various forums is what makes this program great, but I have not been able to find a way to tap into that knowledge on a beginner level.

    Thank you again.

  11. Thanks for replying.

Sorry I did not make myself clear.

I was referring to the white border around the photograph. I called hem a frame because that was the name in the styles menu. I was thinking that the background image of the style with the white border or frame that moved either to the left or right would remain as it was - covering the full slide. Then the smaller photograph which would be on top of it would have the white border or frame as did the old photographs. That photo would be centered and static. Forget the zoom. Too much movement detracts sometimes from the slide show.Right now, I have many standard DSLR photos that were taken when the camera was turned sideways so that the image is taller than wide. I am not sure, as a beginner, about the aspect ratio, but I think most DSXL cameras are 4x3, but I could be wrong.

Are you indicating that one can make a variable size frame depending on the size of the photo? I assume that is happening in the new styles frame left or right. IF I could figure that out and apply it to my slides at will, I would be so thrilled.

I have just started watching Barry's DVD on the lesson about parent and child relationships and do not quite have that figured out yet- just so you know the level of lack of expertise... I can move pictures across the screen and tilt them etc., but that is about as far as I can go for now.

Having such a style in PTE would probably appeal a lot to amateurs like myself. From what I see, it is such a great program.

  12. I love the new slide styles. I really like the ones with frames.

I do have a question. Is it possible to have a frame included style that does not move = the frame is static? Too many of those that move get rather sickening for those of us who somehow end up with a bunch of vertical pictures that are badly presented in the cover slide option even with panning.

Also, if it is not possible to add one, create one or whatever it takes. how does one personally create a new slide style like that that I can add to my slide show? I want something I can use over and over again in many slide shows.... and not on every slide I am a real beginner and would appreciate the basic step by step directions if one is kind enough to share.

I have 7.9 and the beta 8 point something and love the differences I can figure out. I am hoping that Barry, Lin or someone will have a new step by step video series when the new upgrade features and fun things I see done on some of the videos on the forum at the time the upgrade directly to 8 is out. I really appreciate those that I have found and used.
