Should we start a new thread and copy some of these posts across or stay here? And are we allowed to discuss about Thunderbolt on this forum? I would like to and I'm willing to help if I can to anyone needing Thunderbolt, Synology and OWC Thunder-raid help.

Hello Peter,
I thought I was 'out of luck' I have been telling my AV group for the 'last 3 years' to move to Mp4 for maximum flexibility which has fallen on deaf ears. At least with Pte Mac I can open a pte windows file. But unfortunately most still insist on sending exe files. The files in question are part of a competition and it would have been nice to have participated.
I only haven't updated as I have had time to do so yet but will soon ~ I have spent most of the last 2-3 days installing a new ssd on my 'trash can' and doing a clean install of the op system and apps.

I don't know whethwer this is helpful or not? I use two zip programs Unarchiver or Stuffit(standard) Unarchiver is definately the better of the two and will open any file that is given to it providing that you select in preferences open all with this program. Let me know if you need to know how to do this. regards see you soon at Wilmslow

Hello to everyone,
I think this has been covered but I have searched the forum and can't find the answer - apologies if someone has to repeat the answer.
Can a PC Pte Exe file be opened in Mac Pte? I am running Beta 13 and can't open any of the files, 10 files were transfered and are Exe files and two were sent as Mp4-obviously I can run the Mp4 files inside and outside of pte but am stuck at present over the Exe files and I need to view them by Monday and get my scores back ready for Wednesday evening. I have previously been stuck with Exe files as I have No Windows computer .
If there is no way of opening them at present can anybody help with conversion please?

I was at work today and am again tomorrow, so I'll carry out my testing as you suggest over the weekend and post after that. The op system is Mojave 10.14.6

I still think it would be good to include a 'zoom wheel' or link to the mouse wheel. In Fotomagico 5.6.12 there is a zoom wheel for adjusting zoom and the original point of entry 'on looking at the slide' can be shifted by adjusting where the slide sits in the frame box. This coupled with the wheel for zoom makes it dead easy.

I will send the .Mov file. I should clarify that it's the .Mov file that is jittery. Mac is running on 10.14.6 Mojave.

Hello Igor and everyone,
I have some slides of an av that I have tried to put together including a .Mov file. The file plays but it is very jittery and not smooth at all.
The same file plays smoothly in Quick time player and perfectly in Fotomagico 5.6.12 my other Av program.
The Mac I am using is:
MacPro 2017 (Trash can=nickname)
Two D700 graphics cards with 8Gb ram on each
8 core Xeon E5 processor
64Gb Ram
Any thoughts Igor or anyone else please.

I'm interested in looking at this program. When is the intended release date please?
I moved to Mac's from Windows in 2017 and haven't looked back. I'm interested as it would appear to be a serious alternative to Fotomagico. Putting 'Wine' on a mac is a backward step which doesn't work fully and the only other alternatives are Boot camp or Parallels and quite frankly I never want to go near another windows computer again. So I'm interested - I did have a licence for Pte V9.0, are you going to make an upgrade and transfer of op system available for those of us who have transferred op. systems?
Currently running 10.14.6 Mojave. I'll upgrade fully to Catalina when Avid have full support available for 10.15.6 as they only have limited Catalina support up to 10.15.3 at present.

Many thanks for advice about new topic but is this allowed as it's not strictly Pte but related to 'good practice' in storing photographs and getting the best out of 'your mac'? Your advice or a Moderators most welcome - hope the reply is positive but if it's not never mind. If it is positive how do we/I transfer the comments relating to this subject ? Is it as simple as copy and paste?
