  1. Hi everyone,

I believe this is a bit too fast and easy to use only one moving screen...without changing its direction as the direction of the route changes. I think you have to use more than one screen to achieve a real progression.

See below what you see (i.e. position 5672 !)

  2. Nobody but me seems to regard this inconsistency as an inconsistency.

As I am unable to get any support for my view I withdraw from this debate.

    regards,

    Peter

Please, please, please, Peter...stay online ! We need you ! You did an excellent job in helping everyone with your explanations and as a relay of the proposal by JPD.

I am convinced that Igor and his team will realise how lucky they are to get someone like JPD offering them a very intelligent way of getting PTE to become a real universal tool and far above any competitors.

For people who do not use orinal mode and size/resize positiooning, they could use Microsoft Powerpoint...and won't see any diffrenece with what they are presently getting out with PTE.

For all others we need to keep asking Igor to integrate JPD's ideas and ther your help is of paramount importance.

    Thanks to you,

    Regards,

    Henri

  3. Well, here it is! After nearly 72 hours of dialogue with JPD, and a couple of e-mails to Gerard Desroches, I have finally been able to produce a summary in English of both the "Cale" method currently used by the French diaporamists and also of JPD's proposed new technique.

    Peter

Many thanks Peter for this very good and concise work which will help everyone to progress on the dicussion.

For the translation of "cale" I may suggest CALIBRE which has the same meaning...and the same spelling in french and english.

    Regards,

    Henri

  4. Hello Jean-Pierre,

Thank you so much to have taken your time to give us and especially Igor's team these thorough explanations in order to help PTE to retain it's leadership in programs for AVs.

I hope that Igor will integrate this in the next version of PTE and that your name will be associated with this important and indispensable evolution of PTE.

In the meantime I hope that you will rest a little...

Best reagrs and many , many thanks,

    henri

  5. Jeff,

There is no bug here. You set fixed size for slides (in Project options), but not for objects. Slide setting doesn't override settings of objects. If you wish to see your images (3:2) on entire display (5:4, 1280x1024) you need to resize/crop them or set "Cover slide" mode for every image in the editor.

    Hi everybody,

Does this say that if "original mode" was still available we would not have this situation ?

    Henri

  6. Hi everybody,

I use iTunes7. There select your music, then "adavanced/convert the semection into MP3"...that's all !

Note that this is the english translation of the french version of iTunes but I guess it should be the same with the english version.

Let me know if it works !

  7. PTE.5xxx -and- Laptops

Many Readers have seen the various Posts and increased interest in trying to run PTE.5xx on Laptops

and I think its time for a 'review' to establish some simple criteria in an effort to assist future enquiries.

The plain facts are as follows:-

    The Laptops & Notebooks

    a) Over 90% of Laptops & Notebooks are unsuitable and will not run PTE.5xx with all its attributes functional.

    B) Provided the Laptop/Notebook has sufficient Memory (+256mB) and a decent Processor it will run PTE.4.48.

    c) Most Laptops/Notebooks will not accept an Advanced Graphics Card ~ No space and No Power available.

    d) If the Laptop can accept a 'PCI Express 16' Graphic Plug-in Module' ~ I'm afraid they are very hard to find.

    e) Better by far to 'Trade-In' or purchase a Hi-End Laptop with a known Graphics-System such as "NVidia Gxx".

    f) If in doubt consult the Forum,giving:- Laptop Make/Manufacturer and Model No.or refer to Manufacturer.

    Remember

If you are going to distribute your PTE.5xx Slideshow the 'Host-PC' must be capable of running it - check first.

    Hi everyone,

I am using a HP laptop : Mw Windosw XP SP2, Intel Pentium M Processor 2.00 GHZ, 1,0 GB RAM, ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 and PTE V5 runs as waell as PTE 4.48. I never used PTE on a desktop so I cannot tell but was is certain is that PTE V5 does run on laptop !

  8. Hi Igor,

This version 6 does not speak french ! It speaks englis by default. Esay to switch to german or italian or whatever but not french. Please have a look and tell me if this a bug (or am I doing something wrong ? I had no probem in the past with all the versions)

    Thanks for your hard work.

    Henri

  9. Henri,

As I mentioned in my return email, your pte file seems to work fine on my system - it must have something to do with the version of Excel - what version are you using? Others have successfully run the model in versions 97 through to 2003. I use 2000, myself, for developing the model. Will send you some screen-caps of my results with your file. Please try to run the model on a few other simple examples.

    Al,

    Thanks for your replies

I have downloaded the latest PTE_Adjustor_3....and it works perfectly. I thought I had this V3 already but maybe you corrected it.

    Regards,

    Henri

  10. Henri,

Je regrette d'avoir vous dire que moi, aussi, je ne le comprend pas! :(

At what point do you receive this message? Is the problem only when you access the "object" features of the model? Does the previous version work OK? It's still on my website as per a previous link.

Perhaps it has something to do with commands in French? Sorry, I don't know how to help you out with this problem.

    Al,

PTE-5 Adjustor V5_1 works perfectly but not V 5_3, does this means anything to you and helps you understand what the problem may be ?
