Greetings P2Xions
Parents and their siblings:
Going into O and A the objects box will initially display an open hierarchy of Parents and there siblings.
Within objects, i can have up to 5 to 20 parents with 5 to 20 kids each.
I can double click the parent to close its content, but if i add or delete any Parents or siblings,
the remaining objects reopen the hierarchy of Parents and all the siblings.(50 - 500 objects)
Within tools, "Open tree auto" so off is an option would be nice. Maybe i missed it
I'm on my third mouse now from scroll burnout.
Additional masks:
In a mask container, in the properties, you can add additional fresh masks.
I can copy and paste a picture residing within a mask container
back into the same mask container.
I can copy but not paste an existing mask within the mask container-
could this not also be an additional mask? (Key frames included in paste.)
As additional masks are allowable, i thought this would be a natural.

And when it happened - just on startup of PicturesToExe?
Halo again...This has so far, occured only the once.
After starting P2X, the dialog box appeared and upon closing the dialog,
P2X closed with it...
I have had no further dialog occurences.
I have made no major changes within the construct
of computer operation nor any driver/hardware upgrades,
with the exception of P2X 578 upgraded to 579
A one off perhaps...

1) Did it happen with previous versions 5.6, 5.5, etc?
2) I see that although you have Windows XP SP3 user interface (theme) looks as theme under Windows Vista. I'm guessing that you're using some 3rd party software which replaces several system files (DLL) in Windows XP to install another theme. Probably it can be reason of this problem.
I remember exactly same issue several months ago and attached screenshot was same (Vista like view under Windows XP SP3).

1)No this has never appeared in any other versions of P2X.
2)I have had this OS for a couple of years.
The whole Vista interface is integrated within the XP OS.
Not exactly 3rd party addon... So i guess its a yes and no.
I guess you cant alter P2X for every Tailormade OS.
I will be mainstreaming to W7 when it arrives...

This Dialog box appeared when i started P2X579
Not your standard Process explorer dump dialog.
P2X579 closed after i closed the dialog box.
This has only just occured, and ive used P2X579 numerous times,
since download. This info was within.

Thank you all for discussing this matter....ok, I am still not getting it...sorry for my stupid questions. I copied and pasted that whole long thingy in a word document and saved it as reg.reg. Now what? HOw do I run it as if it were a program?? It's just a word document that I know of...I don't know anything. I'm sorry, but could someone help me again?

- try this ,1. Standard edition . Try naming it - PTE.KEY (instead of reg.reg)
Run Pictures to exe and when it asks to load a key, find and load your PTE.KEY
This works for me, see how you go..
If this does not work, key may be wrong or might be damaged.
(*Also changing an .extention of a file means you would of gone to -
control panel/folder options/view/ and unchecked "Hide extensions for known file types".)
Programs are usually as smart as the operator, so questions are rarely stupid.

If it is correct, the problem is that you have accidentally clicked on the small box between the zoom (Horiz and Vert) which makes your animation non-linear in circularity resulting in asymmetrical opposing objects. Check your numbers against my numbers to see where I made changes.

I see and understand your point.
But actually the blakHalo.png (Parent) is at (zoom 105 - 126) by choice.
This effect i have used on car wheels spinning towards the horizon(non-rounded in circularity)
The projects opened and put to movie are identical, only the PTE program changed.
The problem is best viewed side by side - so I made two movies-
Created-in 5.7.2.mp4(how it was or should be rotating)
Created-in 5.7.3.mp4(How it has now changed)

have been losing their rotational positions.
Viewing this in 5.7.2 first, makes my point obvious -

Can any of the O&A experts here please tell me if it is possible to insert a period of time, (for example 1 second), at a point in the O&A timeline between key-frames and also to have this change affect all objects equally?
It appears that if 1 second is added to the slide it is always added at the end of the slide. I have 8 objects with many key-frame points on each, (at different time positions), and I wish to add some time between the key-frames at the same point on all objects.
I fear it will be far too difficult a job to move each key-frame on every object.

Set up PTE 572 and now PC Tools Internet Security - ( http://www.pctools.com/en/ ) -
apparantly thinks that in \5.7 Beta 2\VideoBuilder\WMA.DLL - a "Trojan.Confiker" exists within.
When i start PTE 572 - it tells me this "Confiker" is a medium? level threat,
and wants access to the net.
On one denial of access, i enjoyed the Blue screen of death...
I have used 3 types of Protective services... this is a first.
PCtools may just need their database updated ???????
This is an eyetest for such said harbinger

FWIW, I have had no problems running PTE on my Windows 7 x64 system (except for the problem I mentioned in the other thread). No need to invoke compatibility mode whatsoever.
System details:
CPU: Intel i7 920 S0/S1
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-X58-UD5
RAM: 12Gb OCZ 2000MHz
Video: nVidia GeForce GTS 250 with 1024Mb RAM
Op Sys: Windows 7 x64 Ultimate (Build 7201) - it also ran without problems in the RC (version 7100)
PTE: version 5.6.4

Completed latest upgrades, unloaded - reloaded PTE.
NO JOY with PTE 564, is still gagging- removed.
Although PTE 572 is staunch on XP sp2 with no problems...?

Though the difference here is before my dillema,
i managed to create an executable which runs instantly whilst alas, poor PTE, does not.

OK, it was a gradual decline...
Initially all seemed good, then "Program not responding" Locking occured.
Thats when i used the Compatability option....SP2- SP3- xp, with a good response.
Now the program starts and is non responsive to any Compatability option.
Program only responds to an initial startup.Thats it.
Currently using AV - "BullGuard Internet Security 8.5".
YES... I did put PTE in after Bullguard.
- What video card do you have installed?
GeForce 9400 GT -1024 MB.

Yes- amongst other things.
Well, I seem to have the reverse problem to Carol Steeles, might try using "Avira" AV.

. No initial system update. Had to Use Compatability again (PTE 5.6 - 5.7.2) to run without locking

Its been running since.

With all new versions of windows and the computers of today, it will use more resources!
Look at it this way.. take a computer 5 years ago.. it needed a few resources like a moderate hard drive,
CD drive, graphics card, memory, etc. Today..the computers has to have it because of multimedia, TV cards, massive
hard drives and memory, accelerated graphics, etc.
Computers today will again be extinct in a matter of months!
This is my two cents..this may or may not reflect the outcome of this discussion!

I initially had PTE crash freely in W7, but a compatability option,
within W7 has amended that issue- (Reverts to Sp2 usuage - or to that effect).
None the less, Pictures to exe is currently alive and kicking in W7 ;]
... for the time being.

Thanx Xaver - I missed that tick... i find P2X has more problems with me than i with it. 
Incidently... a random slideshow with music wouldnt use "Synchronize music and slides".
An option to stop the music outright when "the window becomes inactive" would be usefull to some.

Mmmm...
"Run application or open file" is what i use, to run an application.
It opens Fullscreen, over the top of my Fullscreen Show.
The Slideshow pauses where i left it, but the music keeps playing.
I thought that if the slideshow pauses when its not in focus,
then perhaps the music should too.
In particular, sequential shows no longer remain in synch...

endevil,Can you give more precise details of just what exactly went wrong? What was supposed to happen at the point where things went pear-shaped? And what actually did happen? Does the sequence still behave correctly if you open it in beta9?
Remember, the entire purpose of the PTE beta programme is for the user population to use the product in the way that they usually do in order to flush out the bugs that the developers don't find. You may have found a bug in beta10. So it is important that we get as clear a description as possible in order that Igor and his team have the best possible chance to identify and rectify the problem.

Nailed it... - I use the "Repeat show until ESC is pressed" and having this OFF, i can now Preview the show in Beta10,
without task managers help! Sweet

Opening a beta9 project in beta10 works but...
NOT for me in preview or finished project.
I enjoy and spend Considerable Time on creations,but not if its lost in an upgrade.
Anywho, i guess Ill just finish my current project in Beta9.

Basically... this happens when i go to delete a slide.
(Using my delete button and 'Remove slide from slide list' option in context menu.)
This happens in 5.6 Beta 2, 3, and 4.
This does not happen when 'Show real slide in miniplayer' is NOT selected.
I think this has been fixed before?
Also AFTER using the option - 'Random order' in the slide list',
the pictures in the mini player nolonger coincide with the selected slide...
eg... clicking slide 3 shows slide 8 in mini player.

I have been intrigued with the possibilities of this program. When my PC crashed some time ago and my backup failed (long story), I lost a lot of my original images that I used to create many of my PTE shows. And when I created each PTE show, I reduced the resolution of each image to make the PTE file smaller. I lost all of those too. So all I have is the final PTE show.
Now, I would like to extract all the images from the old shows and re-do them in the new PTE version. If I use this program to 'extract' the reduced resolution images from my old PTE shows, and re-do the slideshow, will I get the same quality of the images that I had in the old PTE slideshow?

As you say Igor, it's impossible to protect a program, and add a protection in PTE will only use power when reading a slideshow and will not really protect. The only thing I say is it's not necessary on such a forum to give tools and explanations about how to use them.
Since a long time there is a tool on Mac which do the same, I have never give its name neither speak about it.
To day, there is an enough good protection with PTE when using BMP (with compress option selected) or PNG file, because there are no tools abble to read the files used by PTE even if some tools can extract them. If I give this information it's for professionnal users who can use this caracteristic to protect their work (I think to those who make slideshows for marriage, birthday and so on and sale their work).
The actual programs integrity has been near bullet proof since 4.4x... and is not in question here.
Igor and the team implemented in VIEW|ADVANCED OPTIONS-"Allow modification of exe file with slideshow", because the
stringent protection of Pictures to exe was passed on to the executable product. You were not able to add any
further functions -encryption + anti-dumping + activation keys + etc, to the finished product because of P2X protection.
This option was brilliantly installed for such purposes.
I consider my self a layman at best, not a dedicated hack. If you can - click - drag - drop, your in business.
The program in question was brought to light by Caperucitaroja as to its abilities, be it for good or bad,

Sad day really, for me anyway as i have used this multiextractor program, and its a duel edged sword.
If it can help me extract all the pictures/content for me...
Basically i have been using-
Winguard32 and Winlicence 1.8 to keyfile/protect the shows content...
Multiextractor basically rips thru the pic2exe file, irrespective of its software protection/compression,
and gives you all the pictures/multimedia content your show contains- without a fight - in the original format/quality.
Implementing any password protection or time trial on your pictures to exe... is futile.
I think there are other time consuming alternatives, but then time is money.
Time to reorientate my business aspirations...

PNG Mask

I use Cs4 to create particular masks in png - (32bit)
These masks have worked up until Beta 10.
I don't know about Beta11, but in beta 12 its a problem.
The underlying picture to the mask now remains dark - during O&A and play.
This does not occur to all PNG pictures?
