Hi, Sad day really as i have trialed this multiextractor program, and its too good. Basically i use- Winguard32 and Winlicence 1.8 to keyfile/protect the shows... Multiextractor basically rips thru the pic2exe file, irrespective of its software protection, and gives you all the pictures/multimedia content your show contains- in the original format/quality. So implementing any password protection or time trial... is futile. There are other time consuming alternatives, but then time is money. A simple effective nemesis. Thanx 4 the run.

Howdy... Am currently using Avast, and a recent VPS update(17/07/08), has turned my shows into virus lockdowns. As such, i now need to turn its "On access scanner" off, so i can create and/or view any shows. Went to Avast site and sent the *information below, obtained via http://www.virustotal.com/metodos.html This site Virustotal, provides a service that analyzes suspicious files and facilitates quick detection of viruses, worms, trojans, and all kinds of malware detected by antivirus engines. Just upload your suspect file via email (<10mb)and you get a report like below. Hopefully they will fix this problem in the the next VPS update. *Information below [ file data ] * name..: File createdP2X5.5.2.exe * size..: 721655 * md5...: 9003a522ad7dc244b03d4c3d020114a4 * sha1..: 662809ca2933f4e53ab603ad6803b1202371b640 * peid..: ASPack v2.12 [ scan result ] AhnLab-V3 2008.7.17.0/20080717 found nothing AntiVir 7.8.0.68/20080717 found nothing Authentium 5.1.0.4/20080716 found nothing Avast 4.8.1195.0/20080717 found [Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}] AVG 8.0.0.130/20080717 found nothing BitDefender 7.2/20080717 found nothing CAT-QuickHeal 9.50/20080716 found nothing ClamAV 0.93.1/20080717 found nothing DrWeb 4.44.0.09170/20080717 found nothing eSafe 7.0.17.0/20080717 found nothing eTrust-Vet 31.6.5962/20080717 found nothing Ewido 4.0/20080717 found nothing F-Prot 4.4.4.56/20080716 found nothing F-Secure 7.60.13501.0/20080717 found nothing Fortinet 3.14.0.0/20080717 found nothing GData 2.0.7306.1023/20080717 found [Win32:Trojan-gen ] Ikarus T3.1.1.34.0/20080717 found nothing Kaspersky 7.0.0.125/20080717 found nothing McAfee 5340/20080716 found nothing Microsoft 1.3704/20080717 found nothing NOD32v2 3276/20080717 found nothing Norman 5.80.02/20080716 found nothing Panda 9.0.0.4/20080716 found nothing Prevx1 V2/20080717 found nothing Rising 20.53.32.00/20080717 found nothing Sophos 4.31.0/20080717 found nothing Sunbelt 3.1.1536.1/20080717 found nothing Symantec 10/20080717 found nothing TheHacker 6.2.96.381/20080716 found nothing TrendMicro 8.700.0.1004/20080717 found nothing VBA32 3.12.8.0/20080717 found nothing VirusBuster 4.5.11.0/20080716 found nothing Webwasher-Gateway 6.6.2/20080717 found nothing [ notes ] packers (F-Prot): Aspack packers (Kaspersky): ASPack

Thankyou Peter for your advice... but i dont really have a problem making masks, only using them in the (from 5.52 up) "Show copyright logo"as an global Picture-Frame (Mask). Because the "Show copyright logo" is global (lazymansfeature) its basically designed for not what i have been using it for, but it saves you having to apply it to each slide manualy. Adding another (lazymansfeature) like "Show Frame/Border" below the "Show copyright logo" or removing the assumed Limited-size Text Object from "Show copyright logo" would be an effective addition to PTE,s bells and whistles. Mmm... squeaky wheel syndrome Anyway, Thanx again for your thought.

H wdy! I'm not too savvy on program terminology or construct- - (I think Endevil had exploited an delimited Code-Line within the 1st release of Pte-V5.1. - (Its normal to leave a number of these 'Lines' in a virgin release such as the V.5.1 Origional). Since then its apparent that Igor has completed that line of Program Code and its now shut.) All i know is that i,ve been using this "Copyright feature"as an semilogo/Picture-Frame (Mask) since around v4.30, initially using a transparent gif, - then changed it to a .png picture in v5.0- right up until 5.5.2 -(I suspect that PTE has an internal size limitation on copyright files) If this is the case - Why now? Its worked a treat all this time, as far as im concerned there is enough limitations in life already! I guess Igor,s master plan requires this tweek. Thanx aplenty for the technical musings.

Gday Viewers... Basically i have been using "Show copyright logo". This logo is an .png. I have found that when starting a show using beta2 and Beta3 when the "Show copyright logo" was ticked, generally freezes the display box, sometimes the whole program - and brings up 'Exception EAccessViolation in module apr.exe at 00018DFB. In Beta3, if left and saved with "Show copyright logo",closing the program will bring up a dialog box stating- 'Unhandled Exception at "TPteEngine" Disposing (D:\D_common\Wnlib\WpTypes.pas, Line 536). This dialog box on closing only happens in Beta3, with "Show copyright logo" checked, and the "Exception EAccessViolation" dialogue box occurred in Beta2 and Beta3, not Beta1. Otherwise your program is an overkill of value... Computer has Microsoft XP pro sp3- AMD 64x2 Dual core 4000+ -1.00gb ram 160 hdd- GE force 7600 256mb. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Further to the above:1 Yes, all jpg png gif bmp formats work without any problems but... I have been, unconventionaly i guess, using the "Show copyright logo" with a 1280x1024 transparent .png, as a way of having a picture frame effect to the whole show. The border effect trimmed the show nicely, looked excellent and has worked in all since its inception, that is until Beta 2... I set the logo size to 99.9, that seems to help for the while. My point is maybe this small occurrance could quite possibly inflict some other indirect limitations elsewhere. For now i be using Beta1

Potential Epitaph Thankyou nobeefstu - I duly changed - By default (Use timer to show next slide) to - Show Next Slide after indicated Time interval- I added another picture - extended to 10 secs then enabled as above. mmm. I would like to say YAY, but nay! good citizen tis not to be... I dont know what program your using, it cant be the same as mine. Funny thing, I guess i left all the slides at By default (Use timer to show next slide) as P2E will follow thru any manualy adjusted slide timelines, with By default (Use timer to show next slide) enabled with no problems - -------- WHEN NONRANDOM. ------- On the reverse, when RANDOM gets involved it can often follow the Global timeline, no matter what the manual slides are set to - By default (Use timer to show next slide) OR Show Next Slide after indicated Time interval- Could you or anyone interested, send a basic .pte show - i will compensate using my own pictures. Adjust the timeline of a couple of the slides manually higher than the Global Time interval- set slides to random- run it, wonder what im on about, then send it to me at my throw away email - munyiz@gmail.com We all have a life, and i appreciate this and any efforts that could help me keep this program in mine...

Thankyou nobeefstu for your time and theory... What you say bears merit, but then Non random would produce the same problem. (compensate timing of slides of different tranistion effects and/or different images)- The picture show shown consecutivly has the identical timeline/transition /picture workload as random. As i may of messed up in the program somehow ... i have zipped the project file RND.pte -CRC 2da52ae3 with RND.exe-CRC d4d04c94. RND.zip In the project,i turned off effects, and the pictures are identical in dimension and picture sizes are small, 26kb and 37kb... still no joy. Why P2E maintains its timing integrity in NON random mode but not in random, is out of my league. All i know is its a feature Blowfly in my ointment at the minute. I just hope that someone can show that i contributed to the problem!- Thankyoo again... Strangers are friends we have not met yet...

Sorry... just updated problem with examples above...

Greetings N Salutations... For those concerned, I have attached 2 identical basic shows with the exception of one being random ( "Display slides in random order".) into a zip file - P2E.zip. P2E.zip @1.79mb - - random.exe - size= 966,384 - CRC 86844c6d - NOTrandom.exe - size= 966,387 - CRC 4027a271 Each slide is labeled with either "Global 5 second" or "Manual 10 second" with "End" to appear at the slides transitional point into the next slide. I have placed a picture at the global 5 second mark, on the 10 second slides- which will generally move at this point into the next random slide. *I did notice, that sometimes if the show starts with the slide that was manualy adjusted(10secs),in random mode, it will basically follow the global time (5secs). As well as this, it appears that on occasions the 5 second slides have even taken up the slack of the shortened 10 second slide- basically slowing down towards the end. Its Without the "Display slides in random order", that the shows have worked seamlessly, for me All is basically default. New computer (Duo- 2gig ram)- latest direct x- Nvidia graphics. I purchased this program because i had and do enjoy its abilities and features- as well as the support and advice, i have found, when P2E seems to be having trouble with me! CHEERS! - Safe N Prosperus New Year 2 all!

Gday... In the versions up to 4.48 I have been using PC guard Win 32. and has worked a treat - (encryption + anti-dumping + activation keys). In the latest versions (5.xx) this is nolonger possible - Opening a show now brings about - Exception EZDecompressionError in xxx.exe at 00029ab3 data error Even turning the plethora of protection options off. such as - Code sections encrypted:CRC Self checking:Anti-dumping protection: brought no joy. Emailed Support , pending... maybe its the beta construct... harsher version of asprotected/aspacked in 5.xx... Steev W
