  1. I'm glad other people feel this way too . I know that places like Windows don't make books but I can walk to a wallmart and buy more books than I could read in a lifetime. I really appreciate this forum and I'm trying my best to learn the program with what I have. But a book sure would be nice. I know writing is hard work but I would be thankful for one.

Well I may be sticking my neck out, but here goes -

Here we have another example of someone wanting to return to PTE but sees that things have changed.

With version 5 comes a whole new way of using the application.

I've been following the developments closely, but not adding much to the discussion I'm afraid, and feel myself just a little unsure of the new/altered commands we now have at our disposal.

Despite the insistance expressed in this forum by those thoroughly 'up to speed' with the application that the forum is the best source of knowledge and advice, it's my experience that ordinary folk who come to PTE are put off by its apparent complexity and lack of any real help files, and are not in the habit of logging on to a forum to ask what may be very simple and basic questions.

I'm sure that it'll be the case that someone will, or collectively we can provide a definitive guide to PTE somehow.

There have been several attempts at providing such a comprehensive guide over the development of v.5 which have been very well received, but maybe it's now the time to really get to grips with it.

I hope I haven't re-opened a can of worms on this topic but I feel it has to be said.

  2. I am very graetful for all the wonderful responses.Yes ,this forum is a great place for help .But I guess I'm old-fashioned. I really like having a paper book to flip through .I just learn better that way is all. Oh well ,I will just make due with this nice group of people to help me out. Does anyone know if there will be a book someday -- or if there will be a box like the one on the website?

    Cheers ,Sammy

  3. Hello ,I am looking at buying this program but one thing I can't find is how to order a version with a box and manual. I see the box ob the front page but when I try to order it doesn't mention it .Does the box just come with the program or is there something I have to do?

    Cheers ,Sammy

  4. I'm guessing but I think the author took one or two shots of the same scene a few seconds apart, then used a morphing program to generate the scenes inbetween the shots (possibly even a video application) then he was able to extract (possible hundreds) of separate frames each show a change in the movement of the subject. These were then played back in rapid sucession 30ms or thereabouts with no transition effects. But that's just a guess :-)

What I would really love to know is how long it took to make this amazing presentation.

    Cheers

It sounds like I will have to practice a lot more --thanks for letting me know ..

  5. Hello ,I am new here. I just wanted to say how impressed I was with your presentation.

Also I wanted to ask a question --how did you get the moving effect ,I would love to know how to do that with my pictures. I just started using the program so I'm sorry if this question is stupid.

    Cheers ,Sammy
