My apologies, Dave, I missed your reply and responded to Tom and Lin.
I will try that fix of only running one monitor/projector when running the PTE. That should take care of that part at least.
Ref. resolution of the screens, the laptop (widescreen 1024 × 768 ) adjusts the projector screen automatically -- I am pretty sure that it is 800x600.
Does your laptop resolution equal your projector resolution?Try running the projector with the laptop monitor OFF - it might not cure it but it might make things a little smoother.
It will be Fn and Fxx key.

Hi Lorie,
In addition to what Lin said you might try changing your screen function so it only displays to the projector, instead of both the laptop and projector. If I remember correctly PTE can only use hardware acceleration on a single display device, so it might just be accelerating your laptop display.
Tom
How would I change that function on the laptop? I am pretty new to this. But I am pretty good at following directions.

Okay, it did not occur to me that it might be the projector. That makes sense. It is one from my husband's office, and I will see what model it is.
If I can find out the make and model is there a fix? Or I just have to use a different projector?
Hi Lorie,Many projectors simply can't handle animations smoothly.

EXE show with music.
Runs great on desktop. Runs well on laptop. But when I show it on the laptop connected to the projector the special effect of pictures sliding into view, expanding on screen, etc. will stutter and slow. Timing of slides is still fine, and syncs with the music, but in the slides that have an image come in from the side, etc, the image entering the screen will be jerky instead of smooth.
The problem obviously does not lie in the EXE file, but in the laptop/projector combination.
What settings should I change? I am new to Vista (being an XP fan), so the HP laptop defaults are in place. Everything else runs smoothly with the machine.
Vista32
Processor- Intel Core duo T5250 1.5 GHz
Thank you for helping, I am sure that it is just a setting issue.

Okay, newbie here.
Tried going through the tutorial at the top of the forum page, got lost at post 14 and realized that the dates were from 4 years ago and at least 2 versions ago. I have a feeling that my problem is a simple fix, I just need the key.
Please help.
Backstory:
Running Windows XP.
Have version 5.0 Deluxe with Video Builder (bought, paid, registered, cool)
Made slide show
saved as EXE and PTE file- works great.
CLicked on Make Avi
Made and saved Avi
All seemed to work fine
Problem:
Went to folder to play/test AVI, clicked on AVI file.
Windows Media Player v.11 loaded up, then stopped:
came up with error reading " 80040154 Class not registered."
Tried RealPlayer and Firefox, same thing "class not registered".
Help?
Thanks

Welcome Lorie,
For your slideshows to be accessed by your scout troop you should consider using "Mediafire". It's free, you upload your slideshow .exe and send emails to the prospective viewers telling them where to find it.
www.mediafire.com
Fabulous site, thank you!
I am using it now.
(Also discovered the link to the PC magazine article here, good stuff to read later --
But I still need to know how to convert a slide show to a useable file to upload onto YouTube.
The youth in the troop want to have their own personalized shows that they can use on their Facebooks, MySpace etc. as an embedded show, and we are encouraging them to so this to help recruit their friends into the troop (we are a high-adventure troops and we have tons of fun - not geeky like some think the Scouts are).
Perhaps I should be using something else? I am running Windows XP.

Hello
I have been using the registered version of P2Exe (basic) and love it. Now I want to put some of my slideshows on Youtube for my Scout Troop.
I do not want to burn them, just save on my computer so that I can upload them.
I cannot seem to save them as an avi file ????
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
Also what settings should I set them at
I am a real newbie at this and have never handled video files before.
Thanks
