  1. Hi Henri, I too tried to put a Zipped App for Mac done with the DeLux version, but it doesn't work.

    Sandro

Hi Sandro, I think you are still trying to make a file for Windows. The zipp- file you are talking about is to have a compressed back-up of your show; all files with the extension .exe(dot exe) are for Windows computers.... You have to look in the menu under Create to make that file for your Mac, and that don't have to be a mp4!

    Regards,

    Henri.

  2. There are alternatives to PTE for Mac OS X users that do not want to use Windows. Apple Aperture 3 is one of them and can be purchased in the app store for $80.

    Tom

    Hello Tom,

I think of the two PtE is the better app for making slideshows..

But can you please tell us more about the capabilities of Aperture and differences with PtE in producing a slideshow?

    regards,

    Henri.

  3. Hi Tom, thank you very much, and yes it helps.

However, some of this facts I found on the net too, but some solutions worked out to be incorrect, or too much trouble.

For instance, to call again and again for a licanse I allready have and then write down a number of 50 digits?!

You know Tom, it's all so very 'notMacintosh'.

I think that after all I prefer to start the Mac again with the option key when I want to work with PtE and use Bootcamp only. And no connection to the internet to avoid viruses of course...

But it's a pity Igor had to announce this delay in the development of PtE for Mac.

    Regards,

    Henri.

  4. Hi folks, last two months I spend my time figuring out the (im)possibilities of working with PtE on the Mac with VMware and Bootcamp.

First to say that Windows OS on the Bootcamp partition (I tried XP sp2 and Vista) is doing his duties the same way as on my Windows PC: it's working very good and seamlessly with Pictures to Exe 5.6! No complaints here.

After installing VMware v.3 (using the Windows OS on Bootcamp) I was able to produce some not too complicated AV shows; pan- and zoom-movements are OK most of the time. Kudo's here for VMware to supply a graphical engine capable of running PtE for simple shows, and no problems with MS Office and so on.

I myself use a lot of 3-D movements and/or transitions and in my experience, for more complicated shows, I prefer to use the Bootcamp partition! But again, for not too complicated work, VMware is doing well.

But there is a more serious handicap; in Bootcamp I had after 30 days to activate my Windows OS, so I did. After returning to VMware I did the same here. But then, after a while, I wanted to work with PtE on Bootcamp, and I had to activate again!

After a lot of trial and error it worked out that the Windows OS is 'seeing' another computer with VMware; after all very logical because VMware had installed its own engine, so Windows is 'seeing' a new 'hardware'computer saying that I have to install a brandnew version of Windows for VMware....

In the meantime I've read on other forums that this is more or less a known issue, but I don't like that. I don't like that at all!

After all I have one computer, with the same hardware, a legal version of Windows and VMware(or Parallels, for that matter), and then I have to pay twice for Windows? No way.....

I like to read your experience and/or comments.

    Regards,

    Henri.

  5. Hi folks,

I've read that Parallels nowadays is capable of coping with the graphical demands of applications like PtE v.6.5.

I'm using Bootcamp with XP for Pte now, so I hope somebody can answer some questions:

    1. Are the graphical capacities of Parallels indeed better than say, 2 years ago?

    2. Can I use Parallels with XP, and Bootcamp with XP, on the same Mac , being the same startup-disk?

    3. In that case, is there an obligation to have 2 licences for XP?

Thank you very much in advance,

    regards,

    Henri.

  6. NB. This is now done and you should see PTE6.5 Beta 5 on the Exposure Slide Show text on this page here

    Hi Barry,

This morning I upgraded from OS Leopard to Snow Leopard and started your 'Exposure' file I downloaded yesterday and indeed, like Bill before, no sound! Then I downloaded the version from the link above and yes, there's your sweet voice! So everything seemed OK to me now...

Btw, aren't we off topic now? Maybe it's better to place this on the 'PtE and Mac' page too.

But I suppose that's for Ken to decide!

    regards,

    Henri.

  7. Mac Users and following on from Igor's beta 4 release above

I have just remade my tutorial slide show "Exposure" using beta 4.

To do so I went back to my originally made mono soundtrack, so any Mac users who had any issues with the sound may like to test this one to ensure it now runs perfectly OK.

    Hi Barry,

I did download your "Exposure" and it is really perfect on my iMac with Leopard 10.5.8!

The soundtrack indeed is mono but the quality of the sound is still very good.

Furthermore it's clear (again) how talented you are in choosing your compositions and exposures and in using the raw-converter!

Thank you for giving us some insight in your working with PtE and for this wonderful pictures.....

After installing Snow Leopard some of these days I'll let you know of the results with your 'Exposure'.

    regards,

    Henri.

  8. Hi folks,

In one of the threads in this forum Igor used the term 'internal alpha testing' for the Mac version, so some weeks ago I asked Igor to explain what he means exactly by this specific testing.

Till now I didn't get an answer, but I suppose he is very busy with finishing PtE 6.5, something I fully understand; I'm waiting for that soundtrack-version too!

But maybe some of the many clever members of this forum can tell me the meaning of this 'internal alpha testing', and is there any difference between 'internal alpha testing' and 'alpha testing'?

    regards,

    Henri.

I just got a message from Dmitry Hapilin who said:

Internal alpha testing means testing PicturesToExe inside our company only, without involving any user.

Please, wait for a public testing to get and try PicturesToExe for Mac (if you want to participate in testing).

Thanks Dmitry for this quick reaction.....

    Henri.

  9. Hi Peter,

On the Codeweavers site you can find a list with suitable applications and PtE is on that list.

But, as far I can see, it is not tested; maybe a challenge for you?

They do have a demo-version and seem to offer a special price this month for the full version.

For me, I think I'll wait for the Mac version Igor and his team is cooking now...

    Regards,

    Henri.

  10. Hi Mike,

I don't know the phenomenon you describe, but I work with an 2008 iMac and that Mac has a separate graphics card. As far as I understand some of the new iMacs do have the card integrated on the mainboard, and is then probably 'shared'.

Maybe that's the reason of the behaviour of your sequence?

    regards,

    Henri.

  11. For some time now it is not possible to log in on my iPhone.

Before the changements in the mobile layout of the forum it was quite easy to log in for some discussion, but now after typing my name and password I go back to the startscreen of the forum and that's it!

I mailed to the developers of the website but never became any answer..

I hope there's soon a solution for this inconvenience.

    regards,

    Henri.

  12. We have a very good progress with fully functional PicturesToExe Deluxe for Mac version.

I think beta testing will begin in this year.

Hi Igor, good to see you are this far with the development of the Mac version.

Of course I'm ready to do some betatesting again.

    regards,

    Henri.
