  1. Hi,

I have the same problem and the only solution I find is to format rewrittable disc before burnng it.

For burning a no rewrittable disc, I must desinstall the burner in the configuration panel and reinstall it before burning.

    It's not a very solution ...

It's possible to make an iso image to burn later but it is domage to not burm with video builder.

    Good luck

  2. Nobeefstu,

I know how to use DVD R or RW disc and if I use rewrittable discs, it's to make reading tests before burning DVD R disc.

I never format RW disc before using them with another software (Pinnacle, Adobe Premiere, ...).

After a successful burning on a rewritting disc, I try to burn my project on a no rewrittable disc and I have a burning error (burn.exe).

It's not serious because now, I know I can duplicate RW on R disc if I cannot burn directly on a no rewrittable support.

Thank you, Nobeefstu, for your tenacity.

  3. Nobeefstu,

Yes, I have the lastest video card drivers and burner firmware.

I try with DVD +R 4x (Philips) or DVD +RW 8x (Traxdata) or DVD +RW 4x (TDK), or DVD-R (Verbatim).

The video card is a NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS and the burner a Plextor PX-760A (I try with another burners, Sony and LG)

The processor is an Intel Core2 X6800 (2,93 GHz), with 4 GO Ram, 3 x 1 To DD, under Vista 32 bits.

I burn DVD or Blu ray disc with Pinnacle 12.

    I don't understand ...

  4. Hi,

I have a runtime error when I burn a DVD with the version 5.5 of PictutesToExe/Video Builder. It is not necessary to burn the DVD : if I create the DVD directory, there is also the runtime error.

The support tell me that this problem will be resolved vith the release 5.6 of PicturesToExe (and a new version of Video Builder) : "All modifications of Video Builder engine will be included in the next release. PicturesToExe 5.6 will be laid out soon".

I try the version 5.6 : I have a runtime error (Please, take a look at the attached file).

    I transmit VideoBuilder_DVD.XML and VideoBuilder_DVDLOG.txt to support.

    Thank you for your help.

  6. Hi,

I have the same problem with video builder 5.5 ...

After many tests, I think the problem is due to the volume of data to burn : My project as 1200 vues in 17 slides (17 PTE 5.5 projects), 9 pages (2 slide by page), with effects, commentaires and music, 1 hour on the DVD.

When I try with only 16 slides, it's OK. I try to replace the 17th --> runtime error

I try with a lot of little slides (more than 17) : it's OK, but the slides are small.

I try with Windows XP SP3 (DirectX 9) and with Windows Vista SP1 (DirectX 10) --> runtime error for both.

The DVD burner as no importance : when I burn without writting the DVD, I have the runtime error.

My computer as 4 Go of memory and INTEL Core 2 Extreme X6800 - 2,93 GHz processor (I make very big projects with Pinnacle Studio and have no problem).

I hope my english is comprehensible for you .......

  7. Runtime Error!

Yesterday evening I started to burn DVDs.

When I tried to burn a DVD-video disc I got the following error message:

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

    Runtime Error!

    Program: ...m files\WnSoft PicturesToExe\5.5\VideoBuilder\author.exe

    abnormal program termination

This happened when the program executed: VOB files multiplexing.

I see the same problem on the forum but I don't find the soluce ...

    Thank's
