Sorry but you made it now to complicated for me to use without reading the whole manual. Deleted it.
Bert
Bert,
I am sorry you gave up on it. As with any software there is a learning curve.
Honestly the manual is not that long.
I hope you will give it another try.

Hi George,
Thank you for using my template.
The red circle was intended to be on a single day.
You should probably have used an other shape for several days because it looks odd to me this way.
And I noticed a little visual problem with the calendar at the end of the slideshow.
You probably set by mistake opacity to 100% for a frame, causing a blue rectangle in the middle of the calendar to be visible.
Oh, by the way, you should remove my logo.
But I enjoyed your show. Thank you for sharing.
Dom,
Thanks for you comments and I will look into new shape to replace circle.

You're very persistent, that's a good trait to have with kind of work. I believe this is the best version of the 3. I didn't get off on the twirly image animation but I did like the wide images in 3 separate frames with the left and right images bent away in 3D.
Overall, an improvement,
Greg
Thanks Greg,
I am not perfect [who is], persistince I can do.
The "twirly image animation" Is one of the things I liked. I can see it may not bee everyone's cup of tea.
Cheers,
George

Mick,
Thank you for the nice comments. The mind unlocked and got around the problem I was having.

To all those forum members who have followed this show, thank you for you comments and suggestions.
In this final version I have tried to implement your suggestions. I can now say that I am pleased with the results.
I am sure there can be improvements but for now the elude me.

Hi George,
The initial idea is OK but the screen blackout between slides is very distracting, i noticed in earlier comments that someone stated that "your images where grainy".
Now if you where using slides for your images the above statement would be correct but i think you are using digital images and if so grainy would become noise.
Noise is i think easier to remove from the image providing you have a good noise removal program.

Rick
Hi Rick,
Thanks for you comments. Most appreciated.
A new and Final version will be coming soon, and I believe you will see much improvement.
By the way, it was you presentation at the Southwest Computer Conference in San Diego last year which got me started down the PTE Path. For this I Thank You.
Hope to see you at the conference this year.

After commenting on the first version of your show and then viewing the most recent version, I would ask, "are you happy with the modified results"?
Do you think the resizing of the images had a negative quality impact?
Does the screen going black in-between the main images add to the flow of the show?
Does using the same nighttime image to introduce a new day a necessary feature or would using a different nighttime image add more interest?
I know you have had lots of critical comments on the original presentation and the fact that you made changes so quickly suggests to me that maybe you had some reservations on the sequence from the get-go. I'm sure you've seen many slide shows and felt that some were better than others. You need to understand why you feel some are better. Is it because of the topic, image clarity, presentation etc. Once you figure that out, I believe it will help you with future presentations.
Don't give up trying,
Greg Gordon
Greg,
No I was not very pleased. I have finally got myself on the right track and a new and Final version will be coming soon, so watch for "Travel Las Vegas Final".

Hi George,
I am not a great lover of this type of template especially when it covers the whole of the show. Some are okay as an introduction but even then I prefer them to be all my own work even if I pinch the idea from elsewhere. Of the two, I think I preferred the first one as I could put up with the flashes but did not like the black screen between images. I did not mind the repeated aerial shot of Vegas, I think it helped with the tempo of the piece. And did you lose a bit of quality in downsizing or maybe it's my imagination.
PS I hope the weather has improved.
Mick,
Glad to here from you. Weather here is very windy and will get dusty. That is EP.
I am beginning to believe that I should have used only the beginning slide [desk, passport, etc.] and then used a more traditional presentation of the images.
I should note that this is the way the template was presented, i.e blank slide, beginning slide, blank slide.
I did loose some quality due to downsizing.
As always I learn a bit each time.
Best to you,
George

I downloaded this A because we got married there in 85, not 1885 & B it was under 20MB.
Comments.
Too much animation for me, although it matched the ST tempo. Would have liked more wide shots & less close up. Technically, a few of the zooms jerked & there was a lot of grain. Otherwise OK.

Thanks,
Your comments are well taken and I will keep them in mind for the future.

i enjoyed the first - this version better
we were there in '89 - quite a place and the way they build and tear down buldings is amazing - we took a tour at night with me driving to layout the route - then wife took the wheel and i did a non stop video for +- 1 hr - she never sleeps - then drove north to Reno -- the stuff you only read about - is there to see first hand from fighter jets to max security jails - -quite an area
keep your imagination going
ken
Thanks Ken,
Imagination I have, its the power of implementation that eludes me.

I was going to suggest also that (in the spirit of Dom's template) you maybe should use an image of 'home' not the destination as the background to the calendar and desk.
Just thinking aloud.
Thank you David & Den, your comments are most useful!

Yeasterday I posted Travel Las Vegas using TheDom's Travel Template.
I received from the forum and other sources som comments which prompted me to make a few modifications.
1. I resized all the images making for a smaller download 11.5 MB, down from 58.7 MB
2. The Flash effect has been removed.
3. In the main imgage slides the background has been removed, placing emphasis on the image.
The show is in 16:9 1280x720
Length 4:13
Size 11.5 MB

This looks like an earlier version of this template or maybe you've made some modifications to the latest version. I use a few of THE DOM's templates myself. But, I got to say, I'm not a fan on this version or what you may have done to alter it (if it's from the current version. Like Ken, I too liked the images and to see them displayed in full screen HD aspect ratio was great. I watched a show a few days ago "postcard from Norway" where the image did not use the full width of my monitor. I don't know if the DOM's template allow for 1920x1080 image display. you should check the slideshow out, I feel it suited the template well or vice versa. What was the reason for constantly going back to the nitetime image, I got tired of seeing that one also, the image flash when it came into full view, I didn't understand that one as well. I didn't see the need to show the calender identifying a new day - the end of those animations got quite jerky. This show seemed to me, more about showing off the template than the images. I think these photos would have been better served with a more basic animation provided within PTE. Now, I could be all wrong here, this show is of your making and the one you really need to please, is you. So please take this critique to assess if any of my points are relevant, if you think not, that's OK.
FYI - I had a senior member critique a recent show of mine. As I feel about yours, he felt the presentation style was all wrong for the images I was displaying. I understood where he was coming from and then offered him an explanation of what I had purposely done and reminded him that I had already displayed similar images in the past via sequence animation that he liked. All is good.
Greg Gordon
Greg,
Thanks for your comments.
1. The show was intended to demonstrate the Travel Template and my interpretation of it.
2. The tempate was used in its original form. Slide 2 where the desk, passport and tickets appear is original changing only the "travel-background"
3. I used parts of slide 2 to produce the rest of the slides. Notably I used the calendar in the day changes.
4. The flash feature is one I did not care for.
5. I can see the the repeat of the background may have been tedious.
I would like to see other presentations using this Template. My interprepation may have been way off base.
In the end I had fun doing this show and have learned from it which is what it is all about.
Many regards,
George
