I am almost ashamed to admit that I sit here smiling at these types of threads. I know I shouldn't, but I can't help it
I can't help thinking about all those smug Mac users who have approached me at demos over the years to tell me how beautiful and wonderful their Mac is and that unlike Windows "It just works"
Then they moan like hell because they can't get the same software as windows.
Last time I said something like this, many Mac users threw their dummies out of their pram when it was suggested they should run two systems or bootcamp. Well, if you don't like that idea, find something else.
After all there must be some wonderful slide show software for Macs. isn't there? :D
I suffered Windows Pc's for over 22 years then saw the light when in 2008 I went to Apple. Why did I leave it so long? It would have enhanced my career no end! Slideshows, well yes I use Keynote and Final Cut. I only hope when the hackers finally destroy M/s, there will be an Apple left on the ground!

Hi Igor,
I would like to Beta test PTE. I have a range of Macs, two laptops and two desktops, all Intel running 10.6.6 and 10.5.8.
I would give up waiting, having been assured of spring 2010, summer then autumn. They wrote to me a couple of months ago confirming there is NO foreseeable release due to the complexity of the Mac Software.
I therefore had to get on with my life and now with my treasured MacPro use Keynote and Final Cut Pro to insert more complex QuickTime audio visual sequences. A pity that with such a superior product they had not recognised the Mac iPad/iPhone potential which Boinx Fotomagico software have now exploited. Shame I had every faith in them.

We have a very good progress with fully functional PicturesToExe Deluxe for Mac version.
I think beta testing will begin in this year.
Before the open beta-testing I'll post an announcement in this section for those who would like to help us with internal alpha testing. Please watch this forum.
Our strategy as with previous version 5.0 - adding of features during beta-testing.
May I be amongst the first to wish you all a Very Happy New Year and swift progress with the MAC version!! Any news of its release date will be such wonderful news indeed!!

As the song goes; - "I'm so excited"
and "All I want for Christmas" -
Good luck to the Mac development team. Hopefully the stability of the Mac won't let you or the "Flat World" critics down!!
Can't wait!!

With due respect to mac aficionados, it is unrealistic to expect a finished mac version in only six months. The current 'state of the art' PTE for Windows has been a number of years in the making and is still being developed.
As for mac users 'representing a huge market', I can only say that alongside the Windows market the mac market is miniscule, and whereas the Windows market is open to all, Apple restricts software developers, making it harder to write for mac.
Igor has said it will happen in due course, but it seems clear that Windows development is the current priority.
My personal comments only.
Colin
Having wasted years of my career as a professional Film-maker trying to get Microsoft PC's to behave - you will recognise my passion now that I have discovered the delights of an Apple Mac. It is a worry that with the increased popularity of Mac's, that Apple are reluctantly having to allow their precious codes to be developed by so many others. I only hope they don't suffer the same fate. Anti-competition is all very well but at what price!
Anyhow, having trialled other Slide-show software I will patiently await the Mac Version of this outstanding product. And wish Wnsoft my very best, the industry has waited a long time for this software!

Mac version
Igor also spoke briefly about the Mac version. It is coming along but the scale of the project is very large for such a small company. Their desire is to have just one set of source code that is common to both the Windows version and the Mac version. To make this possible they have had to learn a new programming language and are having to totally re-write all of PTE in this new language. Another major challenge for the team! The native Mac version will not be part of PTE v7.0.
in future please post MAC questions in the MAC section

Thank you Ken for pointing this out. Needless to say I am delighted for all the Windows users. As I have previously mentioned I am stunned by the professional quality of this product and thereby disappointed that having been promised an Autumn release that it is not forthcoming. Regarding the posting, I thought I was simply adding to the above strand of discussions. However, I take note of your warning.
Kind regards from Kent, UK

Yes its great news for PC users - but! The seasons come and go and autumn is upon us here in the UK. That was when I was promised a Mac version. Please can WnSoft be more specific about the long awaited release. Apple sales figures are hitting the roof in the UK!!

PTE for a Mac so reminds me of driving with the kids. Dad are we there yet?
Please Igor when will you spoil us Mac Users?

I have patiently awaited the "Mac only" version for over 6 months now. Whilst I have looked and tried other Mac Slide-show software, I remain so impressed with P2exe that I can't wait for its eventual launch. However, I was told a release would be available this summer and now I am advised it will not be until the Autumn. There must be a lot of frustrated Mac users like myself, which represents a huge market!
