  1. I agree Barry. My initial thoughts were against the idea of a subscription, but as long as it stays reasonable, I am quite happy with the idea now. They are charging me £8.78 a month and my last upgrade, to CS6, cost a tad under £190.00. It's a no brainer.

  2. Barry,

Thanks for the tip on lens profile. My old 1Ds has far too many dust spots and so I make use of the "Visualise Spots" dust removal in ACR. In Photoshop CC there is little time delay, but like you I get frustrated at the delay in Lightroom 5 (both the beta and now the full version). My computer is running Windows 7 on a quad core AMD Phenom II 3.40 GHz processor with 16Gb RAM and two Radeon graphics cards with 1GB RAM each. I love using Lightruin otherwise, so will take your advice and spot remove as the final step in processing.

  3. Eric,

I would recommend you give them a go. I used them three years ago for the very purpose when I hired a 100-400mm lens for an airshow. They were very reliable, the lens arrived on time and it was in great condition.

I ended up buying one for myself as I was so pleased with the results. It cost me £87.00 to hire the lens for the weekend but was well worth it.

    Regards,

    Paul

  5. Colin,

Back to Africa whilst sitting in my study in Cheshire! I never got round to seeing the zoo when we used to travel down to Jo'burg but it's nice to know that it is still going. Even though it is winter there, it did not look too cold and everything looks dry as normal - I envy your trip.

    Thanks for posting.

    Regards,

    Paul

  6. We had a medieval festival in Northwich weekend before last and I nipped out to spend an hour or two walking around with my camera. I was there for over 6 hours and had a really nice day. The only moan I had was that the area was festooned with blue nylon rope.

This is a short show from the outing. I need to do a lot of work removing the blue rope from some of the photographs when I get the chance. The music is Italian, but I could not find a suitable English piece to use.
