  1. Thank you for taking the time to comment, i do appreciate it.

One of the problems on the day was 'no wind' - They had real problems on the day and some of the bigger kites were only up for a short time.

Yes, I would have liked more 'people' shots, but sometimes it is difficult to take shots of people especially kids without being challenged.

The music ? well, I liked to introduce new slides on the beat and this has a very definite beat to it.

I did try with more slides originally but it didn't seem to fit the music then. It seems to sit well with some and not with others... such is life I suppose.

I will also try not to crop too close next time - point taken

Thanks for your comments, I'll bear them in mind for the next one

  2. Hello all,

After many hours of reading and viewing many fine slideshow sequences on this site I have finally completed my first serious Audio Visual....

Or at least my first that I am happy to put up on this site.

I had a great time learning how to use PTE

The camera I use is a Canon 450D with mainly a Canon 15-85mm USM and some images were taken with my Tamron 70-300SP

It is a zipped file as has been recommended to me as the best way to transfer files

I'd love your comments - good or otherwise...

  3. Dave,

Your "Toggle Ctrl+Shift+P on an image in O+A" fix is magic, what a time / space saver that is, Thanks You !

    Ron,

Let's say that your project has 100 slides each of which is going to fade from B+W through Sepia to Colour and that each image is of the order of 1Mb.

Doing it via PS (your way) the overall Project File Size (EXE) is going to be of the order of 300Mb.

Doing it by using the "Ctrl+Shift+P" option (if you find the conversions acceptable) means that the Project File Size (EXE) is just of the order of 100Mb.

    Worth considering?

    DG

  4. Hi Pestmaster. (You really should change that handle) I'll call you PM from now on.

You don't need a converter to view exe files on your TV. If your TV has a VGA socket or an HDMI socket, you can buy a lead to connect your PC to your TV.

    Regards Eric

    Yachtsman1.

    Eric,

O,K, I get the idea that its not possible and my pc is too far from my tv to use a cable.

It's not really worth buying a laptop to view a few slideshows - unless you'd like to convince my Wife otherwise LOL

So I'll stay with viewing on pc from now

To all - Thanks for all of your comments / suggestions

    regards

    PM

  5. You also have to ask the question: If it was your EXE would you want someone else converting it into another format? I wouldn't!

    DG

Dave, There wasn't anything sinister in this request. I merely thought it would be better to view some of the fine examples in this forum on a widescreen HD Tv instead of a 23 inch HD monitor.

I have viewed my own on TV and that's why I thought it would be better to view others on a larger screen.

Thanks for your interest and help

    PM

  6. Hello,

I'm not sure if this question is in the correct section or not...

I have downloaded some of the excellent slideshows from this section and would like to watch them on my TV

Does anyone know of a converter - preferably free - that will convert the EXE file to a format that I can view on TV ??

    Thanks in anticipation.

I've tried searching with little success

    Thanks

  7. Braving the strike pickets, we drove to Liverpool yesterday to take photographs. The day was dull & drizzley, which again with the lack of artificial lighting was not condusive to good photography. The Anglican cathedral is as different as chalk from cheese to the Catholic Cathedral visited last week. The Anglican being more on traditional lines despite being built in the 20th century. I was now sporting a cheepo Chinese angled view finder which I hoped would help with some shots of to roof. First time I moved the camera it fell off onto the marble floor, smashing the flimsey cover, hopefull superglue will fix it? We set both cameras a 400 ISO to hopefully combat the very dim lighting.

After an hour & a half, proceedings stopped to attend the short Communion service held every weekday at 12.30, then it was a lack lustre lunch in the restaurant, not as good as last weeks offerings. Finally the drive back to Southport to download the results.

    Mechanics

Size 31MB. 71 slides, run time 9 minutes, 5 music tracks, one voice over. Aspect ratio 5-4 slide size fixed, this time it is a joint effort.

Must go back next spring to do the tower at dusk tour which sounds stunning.

    Eric,

Your slideshow bought back fond memories of our recent trip back to Liverpool - in particular it was my first visit inside of the Cathedral.

It's difficult to comprehend the vastness once inside.

Your slideshow it excellent, we found it fascinating to watch.

Here is an image taken early evening when we were there

  8. I haven't seen any posts for a while from any new customers saying they never received their license key by e-mail. So has that problem finally been solved? I want to buy a friend a copy for Christmas but we would both be disappointed if the key is not e-mailed because I doubt there will be any technical support available on Christmas Day.

Just to confirm that I purchased my copy a few weeks back and all went very well, no problems at all.

  9. I've mainly used it for making both short (5-20 minute) and long (80 minute) video documentaries. But also for video slideshows of my nieces and Godchildren, weddings and vacations/holidays.

Like you say it is limited only by imagination. I once started making a Rubik's cube, but not the animated cube that others have posted here, instead mine was going to be a fully interactive cube that you could solve like you would solve the real Rubik's cube, except by mouse clicks. I stopped only when I realized that the number of permutations of the 3-D cube was too many for one lifetime! Given enough time this could be done with PTE. I actually have a working version of this project for the 2-D version of the "cube" that I never posted anywhere. With only a few additions to PTE (which I posted in the Ideas forum) the 2-D version could be programed very easily and if WnSoft ever make those changes I will complete the project and post it here.

The next project I plan is to create a .exe version of my resume (Curriculum Vitae).

    Ray

Ray, I've attempted the hard copy of Rubiks cube and failed... and failed... and failed :(

Please don't subject me to a software version also ! You must be very patient to even attempt such a project !

    Cheers

  10. Please don't mention that 4 letter word. I don't do work anymore.

We went into Caloundra yesterday, for the sunset, that fizzled out, so we had dinner right on the Pumicstone Passage while watching a dolphin swim just off the shore.

Next time you come up, let me know

Barry, That four letter word just paid for my copy of Picture to Exe :D

I've just sent you a message via email - seems we have a mutual acquaintance

    Cheers

  11. I usually limit myself to not more than 90 minutes drive each way. However, I am willing to consider longer trips provided that overnight accommodation is included. For example: last month I did a trip involving an overnight, and have another similar one booked for late March next year.

    regards,

    Peter

P.S. If that was a serious enquiry please contact me off forum.

...so I'm guessing Australia is out of the question then ??

    lol

  12. Hello,

I am very new to A/V and PicturesToExe.

I am wondering what the main use everyone has for using the program?

Photographic competitions, personal use (holidays - birthdays etc) Professional weddings, web site enhancements ?

I am now realizing after viewing some of the excellent examples in this forum that the possibilities are endless and only limited by your imagination... which probably applies to photography in general also

    regards

  13. Just picking up on what Lin mentioned.

I have added (as a trial) in excess of 100 tracks in the Project Options>Music section and could have added more.

When you consider that you can go to Project Options, make or tweak an adjustment in any one of those 100 plus tracks, record a spoken commentary and/or comment, play it to check what you have done and have it update in your project immediately without leaving PTE you have a pretty powerfull tool with which to work.

Renaming each of the tracks is possible to make each one easily identifiable.

    DG

Thanks for the great tip to rename each sound clip induvidually DaveGee

  14. Let me know when, maybe we can meet & exchange ideas?

    Regards Eric

    Yachtsman1.

Sounds good Eric, we'll do that !

I've just checked out your "Another Place" slideshow.

When we were there last it was like being in a sandstorm the wind was blowing so hard. Took some pics but nothing to write home about.

    Yours are great !

    Cheers

  15. Lin and Yachtsman1 Thanks for both of your replies.

My idea was just originally to have a background track then to add incidental sound effects or small music grabs throughout the slideshow. So I'm sure that I'll not need to exceed any limit that there may be.

Yachtsman1 - I have had Audacity for a long while now and only dabbled with it. 64 music and sound effect tracks ??? - I'd certainly be lost !

Now I have discovered how effective a good Audio Visual presentation can be and in particular Picture to Exe I can see that I will be using Audacity much more.

By the way Yachtsman1 I am from your part of the world originally (last trip about 2.5 years ago) and am planning a trip there late next year.

    Cheers

  16. Add your first music selection via the Project Options "Music Tab". Next click on "Add a Track" and add your second music to the second track. Adjust the volume for each via the Customize Tab.

    Best regards,

    Lin

Ahh, so simple when it's explained so well.

I've just tried it - works exactly as I wanted.

So I'm guessing that any number of tracks can be added - say for sound effects etc

    Thank you very much

  17. Hello,

I've only recently started to use P2E V7 Deluxe so please forgive me if I can't find the answer that I'm looking for.

I would like to add 2 tracks of music over one another, with one lower volume than the other.

When I add 2 tracks now they run one after the other, I'd like them to run at the same time.

    Is this possible ?

Thanks in advance for any replies
