It's been great looking at everyone's presentations and getting ideas of what you can do in PTE, just wish I knew the detail! I do like the look when I tick 'display shadow behind slide image' but I want to remove it from the first three title slides I've added so the words appear to float onto the screen against the background. At the moment I have the text come in but a shadow appears around the square of the images with the title text. When I go to customise each of these slides I can change the individual background colour but not the shadow. Is there a way to do this, or even a better way to have title text float in at the beginning when it's not against a photo but a plain background colour the same as the rest of the PTE presentation.Many thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm a newbie to Elements at the moment and the batch facility on there doesn't appear to be that comprehensive, unlike Photoshop I'm told. I just didn't like the thought of doing that manually to all the pics. But, if it is, this is what to do.1) Complete all the text items for the image as separate layers. Then:2) on any of the layers create your Layer Styles: drop shadow, bevel & emboss etc etc. Having done so, a little symbol, Like a letter "f" will appear on the text layer.3) Hold down Alt. and drag the little "f" onto each and every layer of text you want to create the same layer effect.Hey Presto! it's done.Good luckJohn Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The alternative which I have been using, once you have completed the text "blending", is to right click on the layer in the Layer box and select Copy Layer Style. I have managed to play about with this but can't seem to create 'floating text', ie so the background is transparent. Can you save a transparent jpg? Ken Cox Posted July 17, 2006 Report Share Posted July 17, 2006 Karen assuming you are using the ver4 series you can change the shadow colour of a slide by clicking customize and change font/shadow details, but i dont believeyou can float text across the screen -- that is ver 5 beta territory and the are many features not enabled -- in some cases shows that have been posted as demo's that have floating, spinning etc have all the parts of the show including the pte file son one can see how the author done it -- to me it is all Latin ken Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
