Hi Scooley, I just burned a 2.8 GB P2E converted file. I also used the Roxio Version 7 accessing the DVD Buider stubs. I burn the highest quality parameters and it takes me between 95 and 180 minutes to complete. But when you see the finished DVD on the tv it would have been worth the wait. Hope this helps....jongru

Hi Ken, Yes, I did in fact reduce the screen size to 95% in P2E I burned the DVD and what it did for my screen was just increase the size of the black fill areas of the vertical and horizontal. I never did have a problem with squggly lines on the sides, etc. The thing I pay very close attention to in building the PTE file used as the avi file source, is that I use a lot of blank pasteboards for showing text info about various parts of the show, and must always remember to use text fonts that measure between 22-28 to be seen with great clarity on the tv screens. Other than what I observed in increasing the size of the vertical and horizontal black screen areas, I always go with the default settings to convert the P2E file to video ready avi, mpeg, or wma....thanks for the help...jongru...

Thanks Ken, I will review and report back. My understanding was that the sizing of screen issue also adjusted the viewing screen down in order not to lose any of th original pictures. Correct or am I wrong....Thank you, jongru...

Hi All, I started this new thread after reading all the comments on another forum about how ineffective the P2E program appears to be in light of the other video editors. I think anyone who really is efficiently producing quality exe files in P2E wants the opportunity to develop and integrate the full featured benefits of P2E with the appropriate avi to video outputs for recording. I was frustrated too, but I spend a lot of time in learning, trying, failing, and experimenting. Most times a light switch is given in this or any other forum that opens up the entire solutions to a given problem. Most of us are quite adept at learning and experimenting. Not all of us are willing to invest a lot of time into a fairly difficult topic. Concepts are worth learning before trying to master the top level stuff. It is in the step by step approach of trying many ways to accomplish the same result. I am so happy to announce that I am so grateful to have the knowledge learned in P2E that gave me the technical ability to do this: P2E->Custom AVI->Open Videowave 7.0 (Roxio)->import the graphic(AVI file you just made->create the menus using the mpegs from your disk->preview everything->then burn to the DVD disk. Then sit back and wonder why it always seemed so intimidating..... That is my story and success. Never had to use anything but the default values other than choosing to use the P2E codecs as shown in the menu. Good luck. Ken, I just finished running the greatest looking DVD Multiple menu program in the world. Thank you for your tip, as it was when you mentioned that the light went off and then it was a straight forward procedure. Very great result after a few frustrating moments.....again thanks. Roxio Version 7.0 is really a beautiful comprehensive program once the steering column is aimed where it is supposed to be headed....jongru...

I create the temp avi/vid files from P2E to avitompeg program. Works fine I come out with a great mpeg file. I take the various mpeg files to Roxio Version 7.0 to create menus etc. Works fine. Then I burn this program to dvd and see beautiful pictures and hear great music. Just that the file is running and hiccuping , anyone know what may be wrong? Do you have to convert a mpeg 2 file to an avi? Can Roxio burn the mpeg files to dvd format without an intervening program? Pleas help, getting frustrated....jongru...

Hi Ronwil, By rendering I think I mean that in order to use the finished slideshow along with all the sounds and pictures that are as choreographed in PTE and see them on a tv screen you have to treat the slideshow as if it were a 'movie'? Don't you?? Maybe my term 'rendering' is a misnomer on my part. Hope you understand what I meant....jongru

Hi All, Is it always a requirement to render a completed slideshow as a movie if I wish to show the slideshows on a tv? If all I want to do is show my completed exe slideshows on TV is there any other way to get them on tv via the dvd mode? Could the savvy multi media people explain the steps? thank you, jongru

I have an olympus 5.0 mega pixels, use a compaq amd 650mhz and always use mp3 or wav if space is sufficient on disk. My average slide show is about 280 mb with about 250-300 pictures. Never had a problem with a client telling me his computer freezes. I've done over 150 slideshows and other than me forgetting to do something I should have done....never had that complaint....maybe it is time to study your own computer and analyze if you are causing periodic freezes on their computers.... I use an autorun file for win 98 and no autorun file for Xp. jongru...
