  1. Thanks to all above for the suggestions and help.

I have spent the last couple of days trying to sort out the problem with my HP laptop including a total of 3 hours on the phone to HP support team. The HP team have been excellent and put my laptop through many tests and reloads of various graphics drivers. The final result is, I have reverted back to Windows 7 ( quite easily!! )!!

Despite the initial test that indicated I had drivers to suit W10, there seems to be some graphics drivers that have yet to be upgraded for W10.

I will wait for a couple of months before I try again to install W10.At least I do not have jittery sequences now!!!

  2. Thanks Gary. It is the image portion of the sequence that is jittery, there are no video portions.

I am digging deeper and there is some strange contradictions in the new system.

After running an auto check on the graphic drivers which reported the correct drivers were installed, I checked Device Manager which states that I have two graphics cards in my laptop, one has no driver and the other comes up with a Code 43 error. I am sending a report to AMD to see if they can solve it.

  3. I have just downloaded Windows 10 and installed it to replace my W7 system. My graphics drivers checked as being up to date with W10

All my sequences would run nice and smoothly on W7, but now trying them on W10 a few of the newer sequences with some animation are jittery.

Has anybody else experienced a slowdown in performance with W10? Are there any suggestions to overcome the problem?

  4. When there are more than two keypoints relating to a child, one can alter pan, zoom and rotate parameters at only the first and last keypoints - at any intermediate keypoint, one can only alter the pan and zoom parameters - the pan parameter is greyed out.

There may be a logical reason for this that I do not see?

Is there a workaround that will allow the pan parameter to be altered at a child's intermediate keypoint?

  5. BB, you say:-

...............then find the command for it in the Project Options > Audio Tab. It's a small tick box, easily missed, but when selected the music is automatically trimmed back to just the 20 seconds you used...........................

Where is the small tick box you mention? In v8.03, Project options/Audio tab, of the 3 tick boxes I see, none say anything about automatic trimming. If it is there, I certainly missed it!!!

  6. Many congratulations to all who have contributed. I have just started reading and am very impressed with the detail and format.

Is this the place for suggested corrections?

If so, under Main Menu... The “Main Menu” is located at the top righthand side of Pictures To Exe main screen. Should this be lefthand side?

  7. I use an iMac but to use PTE I use VM Ware Fusion4 to enable me to use Windows and also use PTE. When I move the slides down from the tree into the list, I want to be able to sort my pictures by way of a Lightbox. I have read that to so this you press F4 but when I do this on my Mac keyboard it goes to Dashboard. How can I access Lightbox?

    Regards

    David

DG is right, but don't forget to have the SLIDE tab view, not the TIMELINE view

  8. Roger,

Its a remote chance your files were originally intended for installation from DVD media. Check and verify any readme file within the 7zip package. A positive indicator would be the inclusion of a autorun.inf file within the package.

    Thanks.

I have finally got the download to work. For the benefit of others, the setup ran from the first exe file .....WWEFGJIS.exe. The 2 loopolgy files, I think are data files with 100's of sample loops, etc, (was on CD or DVD), hence the reference in the download titles and not necessary to download and install the program.

  9. If you can get a copy of Audition 3 on your machine to work, it's pretty cool.

You can dump that crapola Audacity thing in the recycle bin.

    Davy

I have downloaded the 3 files listed under Audition, one of which is a 4.24GB ...7zip file and can't install it from any of the 3 files.

If you have managed to install it, can you give me some guidance please.

  10. The standard time that the clone of a keyframe advances in O/A appears to be 0.500 seconds.

I want to clone keyframes numerous times by the same amount to match the beat of music. Is it possible the set the clone keyframe advance time to a different value other than 0.500?

I know there are a few ways of repositioning the individual keyframes with Keyframe time, Shift keyframe, etc but they are very time consuming if a lot of cloning is required with a fixed advance.

If there is no easy way in any "settings", can the advance value be changed in the PTE programme?

  11. When I use F4 (or F3) to show the Slide List (or the File List), I have difficulty in getting ALL the slides to show fully on one screen. I find using the slider bar erratic - the slides are either too small and fill only part of the screen or are too big and don't all fit on one screen. To have ALL the sldes showing on one screen is particularly useful when sorting the slides into order in a new project.

My suggestion would be to have a default setting for both F3 and F4 functions to initially show ALL the slides filling one screen, after which the slider bar could be used to suit the subsequent sizing of the slides.

  12. I thought I would share this with you, the Zoom H1 with the latest V2 firmware will connect directly to your computer. With the latest version of firmware V2 you can use this recorder as a micraphone to record directly into PTE. This gives you a high quality Micraphone. Also works with Audacity in the same way. All that is requiredis that you connect you Zoom H1 to the USB port (Had it Working with a 15' USB Cable) once connected start PTE hit the project options button, select music, hit the mic button, then select paramiters and select the Zoom H1 in the drop down recording devices. In Audacity use the prefrences option.

Hope this is of interest to someone. Zoom H1 great device been using it for over a year now and its great for getting good quality sound for AV's.

Excellent way to use the Zoom 1 to record straight into PTE or Audacity. Just have to be careful with the background noise from the computer.

Now I know why you use a 15' cable!!

  13. When cloning a keypoint in O&A, is it possible to change the value, either globally or to individual keypoints, that the time of the keypoint automatically advances (the default advance is typically 0.5 seconds)?

I often clone a number of keypoints to set a change to the properties of the second keypoint. It would be useful to be able to set another automatic value to advance the keypoint, say 1.0 or 1.50 seconds .

If it is not possible, can I add it to the Ideas and Suggestions for next versions?

As a temperary fix, is there a value in the Programme text that can be adjusted?

  14. Hi Lyn

I remember that JPD showed us how to create the ellipse movement and I used it to include in a sequence at that time. I much appreciate your latest tutorial because I had completely forgotten how to do it.

I have downloaded most of your video tutorials which are so well done and easy to follow. One problem I do have with your tutorials, which you might comment on, is the audio level is very low. I have to crank up the volume on my amplifier to a very high level to hear your commentary.

    Any suggestions.

    Cheers

    Boogie

PS I did check that the volumes of both the computer and media player were at max.
