  1. Thanks Lin This is Quite interesting. From a lightroom export and with your program

I could not find Title written in any of EXIF fields??

Concerning IPTC, Title is written in the ObjectName IPTC field but not in the Headline field.

If you write something with your program in the Headline field, then it is displayed alright by PTE with the IPTC.Headline template.

Now interestingly enough, when you look at the properties of an image via Windows, it does display "Title" in the Windows Title field, which i then assume it gets from the objectname IPTC field??

However PTE does not seem to support the IPTC.Objectname template....

I will also reach out for the LR Queen forum to try to find out more about the way LR writes fields on export.

  2. Hi Lin,

This is actually pretty much what i have done and just retested. In lightroom with an image that contains the word Title in the title field and Caption in the Caption field then

Windows properties shows "Title" for the Windows Title field and "Caption" for the Subject field.

    Now in PTE:

    <%MainImg.Exif.Info%> displays <%MainImg.Exif.Info%>

<%MainImg.Exif.Description%> displays Caption, which is OK

    <%MainImg.IPTC.Headline%> displays nothing

<%MainImg.IPTC.Caption%> displays <%MainImg.IPTC.Caption%>  (used to display "Caption" from previous tests in PTE 9

My understanding from the manual is that Exif.info or IPTC.Headline are supposed to display Title. Does anyone know which PTE template should be used to display the Title (in the lightroom or windows terminology) except by forcing the copy in the lightroom Caption field (which is not a good bypass as there is no reason these 2 fields should be the same as my understanding is that Title is to be used for a short description where as Caption is meant to provide much more detailed information / context / story....

  3. I am having with the Windows 10 beta the same problem as with version 9, i.e.

I am trying to have automatically the title (as defined by lightroom and also as seen in the windows properties) of the slide displayed using the text templates. None of the following text templates work (EXIF/Info or /description, IPTC/Headline or /Caption).

The "Caption" field of Lightroom (same as of the "subject" field of Windows) will display via the EXIF/Description or IPTC/Caption text templates...

Is this a bug or am i missing something?

    To summarize my understanding

LR/Title = Windows/Title cannot be displayed (should they be via the PTE Text templates EXIF/Info or IPTC/Headline)

    LR/Caption = Windows/Subject are displayed by PTE Text templates EXIF/description and IPTC/caption

  5. Hello,

I have created a slide which is made of one image (actually starting from the Border - Simple style) to which i have added a text object which displays the content of the title of the image (exif data). I have tried to capture this scheme as a slide style (my objective is to have a style which is some combination of the Border - Simple and one of the Caption style . However it does not seem to capture the text object (only the picture which makes it that i end up with the original Border - Simple style).

Am I doing something wrong or is it impossible to capture a text ?

  6. I am reposting in the troubleshooting section as per Davegee advice.

Here is the scenario/ I am picking all the pictures and drop them in the line. Then i select all the slides and try to apply the Simple caption style with the Exif description field (<%MainImg.Exif.Description%>) but it only applies effectively the the first slide of the selection. All the others remain with the "Your caption here" standard caption.

I am fairly sure this was doing this a few years ago with an older version.

  7. Thank you so much for your advice.

All slides have a main image so i am not sure about what is going wrong. Actually i am picking all the pictures and drop them in the line. Then i select all the slides and try to apply the Simple caption style with the Exif description field (<%MainImg.Exif.Description%>) but it only applies effectively the the first slide of the selection. All the others remain with the "Your caption here" standard caption?

I thought about creating a new style as you suggest but i understand i need to buy the Deluxe version to have the capability to do that?

  8. I am trying to apply the same slide style (namely the "Simple Caption" where the caption is an Exif text template). The value of the caption gets applied only to the first slide of the selection but not to the others (which i am sure have a valid value for the exif field). Is this a bug?

More generally, i would like to reuse the "Border simple" slide style but add a caption field (with the Exif text template) to the bottom and have that for all the slides of the slideshow. I know how do that for one slide with the objects and animation panel but how can i duplicate this to all the slides?

    Thanks for your help
