Agree that a modest jump like 640 to 1024 doesn't need anything fancy, resampling and a light sharpen usually gets you there. The softer edges get worse once there are jpg artifacts though, so a gentle blur before resizing can beat sharpening after. There's also an ai image editor that unblurs and upscales soft photos if the batch route gets tiresome. Test the projector first, that's the only judge that counts.
