  1. I have several AVs that have been created with P2E (v6/v7) and converted to Mac apps that have always worked on a Mac.  They have now stopped working on my 2017 iMac (OS 10.13.6 High Sierra), when clicked they open for a fraction of a second (screen goes black) then they close.  However, they work when used on my MacBook Pro running a later OS - OS 10.14.6 Mojave.  They also worked in earlier versions of OS, eg Yosemite on both MBP and iMac.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for looking

  2. Could you please tell us which version was used to complete the EXE?

I got an AVG virus alert on this one and I'm not getting it on my own shows or certain others downloaded recently (today).

    DG

Version 6.5 was used. I don't understand why you got a virus alert, I didn't get one when I downloaded it onto another computer running Sophos anti virus.

  3. I've just completed a new sequence and am ready for helpful comments/critique.

A few 'warnings' first, it is a long sequence (13 mins) and divided into four movements. It is based on still photographs so the aspect ratio of the images does change, and I know some don't like that, but I don't find it all offensive as I'm a stills photographer. It is PC only at the moment.

Download from here and see what you think.

    Cheers,

  4. Thanks to those folks who have replied and I will revisit the sequence with those comments in mind. For this sequence, my primary objective was to show a series of still images with music to enhance the experience, but I do accept that some of the transitions between different formats/sizes are maybe a little confusing.

Xaver, where do I activate manual control so that you can 'work with' the presentation? I wasn't aware that was possible once it was an exe file.

  5. Hi all,

I've finally got around to 'creating' a new AV, based on the annual Jazz Festival at Villes sur Auzon in Provence. I would like help and advice on two aspects please.

Firstly, the length, at about 8 min is it too long? There is a natural break at around 5 min 20 sec, should it end there or does the extra 2+ min add to the AV?

Secondly, are there any serious timing errors? I have replayed it so many times I know when the transitions occur before they do!! If you understand my meaning.

The program can be downloaded from here . Apologies for the file size (36Mb), I must learn how to keep the file sizes to a minimum.

    Many thanks in advance,

  6. It's been a few years (6?) since I've been here, a promotion at school has taken up most of my time. Recently I've managed to find some time to work with the many images I've accumulated over the years. We spend a lot of our time in France and one of our favourite areas is Provence. It was here that we discovered the Cathedrale D'Images, a large old quarry where they stage extravagent AVs. Each one is on show for nearly a year, and so far, we have managed to catch 3 different ones. I photographed the last two with the intention of producing an AV, but it turned out to be 2! I have now uploaded them to Beechbrook.

My hope is that I can now find the time to continue to work on AVs as it allows me to combine my two passions, photography and music.

Can anyone tell me where I can download/view sequences that have done well in festivals/salons so that I can see the quality and format of successful AVs.

  7. Also check what e-mail filtering your workplace or service provider imposes. The keys for PTE are supplied as updates to the Windows registry. Quite a lot of businesses bar such data from passing along the line in order to protect their business PCs from unwanted corruption by malicious code.

    regards,

    Peter

P.S. WnSoft do not ship malicious code.

    Thanks Peter, you were correct.

The email from wnsoft has now been forwarded to me.

    Regards,

    Tillman

  8. Hi Guys,

How can I contact P2E? My work place ordered and paid for a P2E Deluxe licence a week ago and we have not yet received the email with the necessary info. I emailed 'orders at wnsoft' on Friday and have not yet received a reply. Is there any other method of contact?

    Thanks

  9. I have just uploaded a link to my 'latest' sequence. I say latest, but it is based on an original AV sequence from the late '80s, for which I used an imatronic, two slide projectors and a small hi-fi system! Long live digital! After using Photoshop to 'improve' my earlier photos, I decided to see if I could do the same with an old AV sequence. I scanned all the slides then chose more up to date music - originally Rick Wakeman's Searching for Gold - and used PS to improve/alter the slides and fades. I actually prefer the new version! The slides were photomicrographs of recrystallised citric acid, using the crossed polaroids technique.

Any thoughts on the longish colour change (through the spectrum) on one crystal?

I've been inspired, so I'm now going to attempt to bring Dam Powerful screaming into the 21st century.

    Thanks

  10. If it is of any help to anybody, I have just bought a Creative MP3+ USB external sound card. This has both line-in and line-out phono (RCA) connectors, mic-in and headphone out with volume control. I have been using it to record MP3 files from vinyl and tape onto a laptop which only has a mic-in facility. The accompanying software allws you to choose the bit rate etc, and it has a simple wave editor. For £35 it's been great.

  11. Thanks to all those who gave encouraging remarks about 'Oradour - a personal response', particularly to Robert who suggested we enter it into the International Diaporama. We took his advice and entered it into this year's Diaporama were it won a medal in the first competition. We were amazed (and very pleased) with the result, especially as this was our first attempt at AV using P2E!

    Once again thanks to everyone,
