  1. Rick, Thank you for your comments. I do intend to go back in June and hopefully get better pictures in better weather. The reason they open in October they told me is like you say, people can see the place in the autumn as well as summer. Thank you, Colin. Ken, Mr Mercy told me that he has a sit on motor mower as he can manage that with his disability, although his wife says that he has made a remarkable recovery. I might well get in touch with Ronnie West as you suggest and thank you for your comments. thank you, Colin. Mick, Thank you for your comments. I agree with your remark about the zooming, maybe I should have left a few slides out to enable me to do slower zooms, so that I could finish with the length of music. I know perhaps I could have found a longer piece and shortend to suit, but I wanted to get this done, as yesterday I took four DVDs over to them as I had promised they would have them by Christmas. Mrs Mercy asked me if I would do a DVD of her craft for her, which I agreed to do around next springtime. If you would like to make a note of the dates for next year she has given them to me and they are as follows, Saturday to Tuesday June 18th, 19th, 20,and 22nd, and Sunday October 2nd to Wednesday 5th. I will check with her the June dates as I am not sure about the 22nd or wether it shoiuld be the 21st, But that is what she wrote down on the card she gave me. Thank you, Colin. I am pleased that you all liked the sequence.
  2. I visited ''Whitehurst'' in October. The weather was really overcast and rainy. However I took my photographs. When putting this show together I realized that I needed a few more pictures, So I got in touch with the owners to see if I could go back and take the remaining pictures. they were very obliging and agreed. So I went back in November and the weather was very bright and sunny that day, which does show up in the sequence. The tree roots had very distracting backgrounds, so I had to cut them out in photoshop using the pen tool and putting in a different background. The sequence runs for 10 minutes and is 46.35 Mb and can be found on, http://www.mediafire.com/?ydt1fu271l2q43k Colin C Coe
  3. Ken Thanks for pointing this out. I have just re-done this and it seems to work OK now. Thanks once again. Colin.
  4. Hi to everybody. We went to the Eden Project in August 2009. We enjoyed the place so I decided to make an AV. I entered it into our club AV competition last month and managed a Highly Comenended, so I decided to upload it here for anybody that is interested to have a look at. It can be found at, http://www.mediafire.com/?wm4mdxminmn Colin.
  5. John, I am glad you enjoyed my Maidstone show. It was done for showing around camera clubs around the area, also for showing in the Museum at times. I take on board your suggestions and thank you for them. I will make a point of listening for the slight humming, I had not noticed it, maybe my hearing. If you wanted to look at a map you can find it on the kentphotarchives web site shown on my original post. Click on google maps, then on street scenes, and then on the black square in the centre (covered with markers) If you click the green markers that will bring up the glass plate thumbnails and by clicking on one will bring up a larger picture, then up on the right you have the choice of bringing up the modern day image. Colin.
  6. Ken, I am sorry the archive did not work for you. I have just tried it and it works fine, wether that is because Peter adjusted it I do not know, as I did not think to try the link after I put it up. Peter, Thank you for sorting that out. Colin.
  7. I belong to the Maidstone Camera Club here in Kent England. We also have a small A\V group of about ten members. The club has been involved in what is called the Glass Plate Project in conjunction with Maidstone Museum which holds around 8000 glass plates. They consist of all types of subjects. Just to name a few, the building of the Panama Canal, The Chinese Railway, The Royal Mews (London) and many others. Around four members of the A/V group were asked to produce Audio Visual sequence's which included the above mentioned projects. I was asked to produce an A/V on Maidstone Then & Now, which I thought I would upload here. I must warn you that it runs for 20 minutes. If anybody has the patience to download and watch this I would welcome any comments. It can be found at http://www.mediafire.com/?jqjizywqmjt By the way around some 2000 odd glass plates can be viewed at http://www.kentphotoarchive.org.uk Colin.
  8. Hello Everyone, Since joining the Forum back in 2003, I have downloaded many A/Vs and have enjoyed watching them. However I could never bring myself to uploading one of mine. So after six years I have finally taken the plunge. This afternoon and uploaded one on Mediafire. I do not know if I have carried this out properly or not. I have looked on the mediafire site and found this address which is http://www.mediafire.com/?zzmio2mmmzm I have no idea if this is what is required to log on to the mediafire site or not. If not perhaps some kind person could point me in the right direction. Colin.
  9. Hello All, I have recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop. Unfortunately The OP system is Vista. I had the same problem as many others on this forum, I followed the advice and downloaded the patch and that solved that problem. I have created a menu for showing my slide shows and works OK until the last slide of each sequence when it always flashes back to the menu instead of going straight from the last slide straight to the menu. This flashing does not happen with my other laptop which is running on XP home. I have tried disabling the hardware acceleration box and every thing works fine except the animation is all jerky, with the box ticked the animation is OK. I notice in Lin & Jeff’s manual this box needs to be ticked for animation anyway. I feel that I can not use this new laptop for my slide shows until I can get this problem sorted. As far as I can remember the shows I used the patch on seem to be OK. It is the new ones that I made since that suffer this problem. I have made a sequence up on my main computer and transferred it to the laptop via a memory key, a CD and also made a sequence on the new Laptop and all suffer this problem. I hope I have I have put this over clearly. I am hoping that somebody out there may have a solution. I am using PTE version 5.1 Regards, Colin. Colin 2, Peter & Tom. Many thanks for your speedy replies. As I bought the laptop from PC World I doubt that I would get very far with them, but I could try. Many thanks once again. Colin.

  12. Hello All, I have a problem with PTE. When I open PTE all the files show but are minus their titles. I have tried everything that I can think of to solve the problem, even uninstalling the programe and reinstalling it, all to no avail. The only way to find out what is in each folder is to explore each one individually. Does anybody out there have any idea's how to solve this problem, it would be very much appreciated if somebody has. Here's hoping, Colin C Coe.
  13. Hello All, Can somebody help me. On Friday 27th April I purchased what I thought was the upgrade to version 5 deluxe. However it appears that I did not go to the drop down menu and have ended up with the standard version which I already have. I paid £14- something GBP, I cannot remember the odd amount. I have been in touch with Wnsoft Support but they have not been very helpfull so far. So do I purchase version 5 deluxe again, and the amount already paid gets refunded, or would the required key be forwarded from the amount already paid. Hoping to resolve this problem soon. Regards, coecolin. (Colin C Coe)
  14. Hi DoM Thank you, I have tried that and they all work OK. Regards Colin
  15. Hello all, This is my first message to the Forum, although I have been a member for a few years. I have been using PTE since Version 3.20 and have updated everytime an update has been made available. I have a problem when trying to open some of my sequences that perhaps have been made a year or so ago and have been left on my hard drive. The message I get is as follows. ''Project files created with Pictures to Exe V1.00 - 1.60 are not supported now''. this also happened to a file I downloaded from this site yesterday. I just wondered if anybody else has had this problem and if so is there a way to get over it. I must say that I do enjoy this site as the hints, tips and tutorials are really helpfull. Regards, coecolin.
