  1. Many thanks Peter, after a little delving I deleted what appeared to be a "spare" PXE programme dating from 2004 and all now appears well and working in all its parts. Alan
  2. Recently I have a problem in that having made my AV in PXE I first save it, creating the "pte." file and then click "Create" to produce the "exe." file. The "exe." file works fine but if I wish to reopen the programme to create a modified version I get the following message when I click the relevant "pte."file. "Project files created with Pictures ToExe v1.00 - v1.60 are no longer supported". If I click the OK on this message it opens PXE v4.43 with a recent but not current set of pictures. I am currently using v5.6 and 4.43 is long, long gone. If I open v5.6 directly and click "Open recent project" I can reopen my programme. Can anyone please explain this annoying peculiarity? Just for the record no files have been moved in the interim. The above happens if I click "pte." immediately after saving. Many thanks for your assistance/suggestions, Alan
  3. Thank you all very much for the info and the welcome, plus any future comments offered. After a little more research I'll take the cheap plunge with little to lose and expand my scope for educational errors. That's my excuse anyway. Cheers Alan
  4. I have successfully made quite a few AV's which, apart from my computer are usually shown via a digital projector. Now I want to produce some of them as AV1's to show via a DVD player which I do not yet own. Talking to colleagues it seems that there is less risk of rejection with the cheaper players than with the fussy expensive ones. My question is, what specific characteristics should I be looking for in a player to play AV1's as well as DVD's etc? I'd prefer a cheap answer! Many thanks. Alan
