  1. Thanks everybody for the great feedback and advice! I too am using AVG 8.5 so this must be the reason for the slow folder issue. As for sending ZIP files, I tried that but they too were rejected. I'm sure I've tried renaming the extension to something other than .exe but couldnt do it. So I'm going to give that another go. What's the easiest way to do this? Moelwyn.
  2. Hi, Not sure if this has been posted before but does anyone else have a problem with folders taking a long time to show their contents if they have PTE.exe files in them? also what's the best way to email the finished .exe file as every email service provider seems to block it because it thinks it's illegal or a virus? Thanks
  3. Thank you very much Carol! At last someone who just addresses the question in black and white. Moelwyn.
  4. Thank you Keith, I agree with what you said but since you were so upront and off the mark with: I will say........It is absolutely none of your business. Regards, Moelwyn.
  5. Hello, Thank you Lin, Ronnie and Al, I was highly frustrated earlier after 3 days with a deadline to meet. I went for a change of scenery and a break. Next time I will expose my frustration elswhere!! Thanks to Igor for the quick bug fix, hope I didn't offend you Igor I managed to create my show in 4:3 format and burnt in 4:3 format but the whole image and menu was cropped by about 1cm loosing half the title/comment but I realised that I could lower it. One of my chapters ended half way through so still have that to look into. Please no comments about me going to a competitior, I just had a lovers tiff with PTE but we've made up now. Moelwyn
  6. Hello Lin, Thank you very much for your very sincere responce As stated in my post: I have been using PTE for many years. Also if you had read my post more thoroughly, my name is spelt Moelwyn. This is interesting, thousands already tested full version only released yesterday? And according to Igors history read me file with downloads, my fault discovered with shaddows when 'Hardware acceleration' unticked is justified and already fixed (awaiting V5.01). And another fault when 'Hardware acceleration' option unticked has appeared. It will be very interesting to see if my sync to music issue is also connected to 'Hardware acceleration' option being unticked. I will be the first to let you know Bestest of regards, M O E L W Y N
  7. Hello, Well I used to love PTE and after a break and now photographing weddings, I came back to give it a try to create my DVD proofs. I have spent the last three days trying to make a succesfull show. I am very familiar with creating a project with various project options but had problems burning a DVD with latest beta V5. So I was advised to wait for full version and video builder which I downloaded and paid for yesterday. Soon after and now hairless I discovered what might be the first bug as picture size shaddows were still visible on screen when images changed from horizontal to vertical and vice versa. I discovered that this only happened when 'hardware acceleration' was left unticked which I wanted. Igor confirmed the bug and is now dealing. So that was yesterday wasted. Today my slides won't sync to music and slides finish way before music does. Sync to music option is ticked. Anyway I am trying to run a business and cannot afford to spend more time on this and unfortunately will have to purchase a competitors version. It has been the most frustrating three days and I am amazed that considering the first version came out in 1999, some simple slideshow principles are not working. For those of you that can handle waiting and using trial and error until it works, I must admit that it is a great product for the price. But for us in business we expect an established product to work and cannot afford the time to rectify faults. As I said, Im dissapointed as I did like creating shows for the pc only, before the need to burn to dvd and would have loved to continue using PTE but it's let me down and does not make business sense. Sorry. Moelwyn.
  8. Hello, Not sure if it will work but I'm about to upload the PTE video file to Google video, you can then copy the html and paste to your site where it will run. Oh and by the way, it's all free!!!! Moelwyn.
  9. I have downloaded PTE5 deluxe latest beta because I have to get a job done today. Aparently the full version is due to be released today but I cant afford to wait any longer. I have created my show but have tried everything to get rid of horizontal shadow of previous image left behind vertical image and vise versa. I do want a drop shadow behind my 800 pxls images but I want a clean background when images change from landscape tp portrait and vice versa not a big shaddow the size of the whole image left behind. I found this not to happen if i left 'Hardware acceleration (D30)' ticked under screen tab, but then my transitions arent smooth. Please help Moelwyn ps. I have my first DVD to create in video builder later and my client has to have the proof slidshow tomorrow latest! God help me, wish me luck!!
  10. Hello Howard, I am using PTE v.4.48 which does nor have the built in burner. I would like to stay with v.4.48 as my 800 pxls slides are for some reason expanded in v.5 I am only creating a proof slideshow so having a full size image on screen is not important. Moelwyn.
  11. Hello, Could somebody please be kind enough to help me with the following: I have had a few years break form using PTE but now that I have started photographing weddings I am using PTE to create my proof DVD's. I am using version 4.48 and resize my pictures to 800 pxls for proofing as suggested by Barry Bekham. Until now I have created 1 video file and burned the dvd using Ulead video studio 8. This sometimes crashed half way through with microsoft report error message but I would burn again and it would work. I have for the past 2 days tried to burn a dvd with 4 chapters, each video file created and left open in PTE. I create a menu in ulead video studio 8 and burn as normal. But this time It crashes everytime half way through about 45 mins in (very frustrating!!) I also have nero vision 4 and tried using this to create my dvd with chapters. For some reason this expanded this slidshow size which made the slide comment (picture name) dissapear, the fade transition was not smooth and it took 3 hours to create! OK, MY QUESTION IS THIS: WHAT IS THE BEST, MOST RELIABLE AND QUICKEST SOFTWARE FOR ME TO USE TO BURN MY DVD'S WITH CHAPTERS OF DIFFERENT SLIDESHOWS WITHOUT ANY HICKUPS??? I WOULD LIKE KEEP MY PICTURES AT 800 PXLS. I TRIED TO USE PTE DELUXE 5 BUT THE PREVIEW TRANSITION WAS NOT SMOOTH AND THIS ALSO EXPANDED THE SIZE OF SLIDSHOW MAKING IT LOOK SLIGHTLY PIXELATED AND LOST THE SLIDE COMMENT AGAIN. PLEASE HELP AS MY CLIENT IS WAITING FOR THE DVD THANK YOU SO MUCH. IN THE MEANTIME I WILL SCOUT THE FORUM FOR HELP. Moelwyn
  12. Thank you Ken for all your help. Its starting to make sense and I'm lerning something new everyday! The thread is on going ehttp://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=2393&s=62bec1e85b4db42ec70670e6d514a56 Moelwyn.
  13. Fred, thank you very much for you reply. What your saying is right and I'll attach a note with each CD. I'm more confident now in giving the CD's as they are and will have some answers ready if people ring me up with problems. But do you know why it doesnt happen with other .exe files on CD (eg free CD's with Magazines)? When you simple eject diring their presentations the CD ejects properly and you are returned to your desktop as you would expect. Do they include some file on the CD to make sure this happens? I'm no programmer and wouldnt know how to do this but surely theres somebody out there that knows how. Maybe this is something for WnSoft to address and a nother bug they could fix? There should be something placed within the .exe file when the show is created so that you are returned to the desktop should you eject the CD half way during the show, WHAT DOES EVERY BODY THINK ABOUT THAT? Take care, Moelwyn.
  14. Thanks Jim for your reply. I understand that you shouldnt eject the CD during the show, but its not me I'm worried about its the 40 people that will receive the show on CD. I'm worried that not all people are computer illiterate enough to know how to rectify the problem as a result of ejecting the CD during the show. Yes, the ideal situation would be to save the show to the hard drive (which would be ideal for 1 end user) but since there will be 40 unknown end users this would be an impossible task. Maybe I should have been more clear with my original post but what I'm trying to find out is if there is something I can do or some file I could add to the CD to stop this from happening? Is there something I could do so that the show just ends and you are returned to the desktop if you eject the CD half way through the show? Thanks again, Moelwyn
  15. Thanks Ken for your reply, I'm sorry if you were confused, it was my fault. I added a post continuing from my original post which I gather you did not read. Also I placed my post in the wrong forum (Pictures to exe presentations, instead of Pictures to exe). So here is the link to my original post which you will find in the pictures to exe forum. http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=2&t=2393 Thanks again, Moelwyn.
