  1. Bill and Karen, The images you have recorded truly warm the heart, thank you for sharing them. The background music fits so well and is truly beautiful. Would you mind if I asked the name of the song? Thank you both, Dennis
  2. First I want to wish you a Happy New Year and thank you for the tremendouse effort an resulting product that we all get to enjoy! I am trying to move PTE from an old computer to a new one. I have requested a replacement Key attachment but have not recieved it yet and I am very near my deadline for completing this SS. In an attempt to expedite the program installation on the new computer I even purchased the program again, but still have not recieved the new key code. I have the key code from my origional purchase a year or so ago, but it is not in the origional attachment form. In ignorance, I copied and pasted the text into a word document where I keep all of my registration codes. Is it usable in that format?? Thank you, Dennis OK, I found an earlier post that guided me to the anwer...the Registry. I found the key and it loaded to the new computer. Now we are up and running, thanks Bill!! Dennis
  3. Thanks for the help, I am going to invest in an audio editing program, combine a couple mp3 files and see if that fixes the problem. I'll let you know. Thanks again, Dennis
  4. 6 hours, 12 CD's and 15 power cycle reboots later, I have narrowed down the problem of this SS (locking up my computer and indefinatly motoring my CD burner) just by process of elimination. I don't understand this, but the problem seems to be directly related to the number of mp3 files in the SS. The SS has 349 images (between 90-110K) and 6 mp3 files synchronized. Replacing any or all mp3's had no effect on the problem. Only reducing the number of mp3's to 4 or less allowed the burn process to complete without locking up my computer and causing the CD burner to motor indefinitely. Has anyone else been successful in building a SS similar to this one with more than 4 music files? Is there a limit to the number of mp3's a SS can have? This one is really puzzling me. This SS really needs 6 mp3's to run optimally. Any ideas?

  6. Thanks for the prompt reply guys. I am using Memorex CD-R's. The problem seems to be selective, in that it only effects one particular SS. I was able to write one copy last night after numerous attempts but could not do it again when I attempted to write a second one. nobeefstu, How would I check the settings you mentioned? Dennis
  7. I have created a SS, nothing new. When I do a create to CD drive I get a window that says " Create exe file from current project with a new name". What the...??? If I do a create to desktop it will go ahead and create only now if I try to burn the SS to a CD it writes to 5 seconds left and never finishes. The drive will continue to motor indefinatly and my computer "XP" is un responsive to anything except manual power cycle. In fact, if I try to reboot with the same Cd still in the drive the computer will not boot up. This is scary. I have burned many before and never had this kind of a problem. The SS is about 80 meg total with 5 MP3 files and 380 images synced to music. Expiration set for 8/1/03. Full transition effects on each one. The burner will write other SS's just not this one. Any one have a clue??? Dennis
  8. Thanks Al, I haven't tried it yet, but I feel sure that is exactly what is wrong. Common sense should have told me. Thanks again, Dennis
  9. Hi Guys, I built a SS recently in which I needed to allow Pause and Next frame control with the mouse. I enabled the feature by assigning the appropriate mouse controls in the set up page. When I preview or burn the SS as a finished project, I have no control with the mouse, or any keyboard command other than ESC. Did I miss something? Isn't authorizing the mouse control authority as simple as selecting the command assighnments? Thanks, Dennis
  10. I am getting ready to burn a slide show to DVD of a wedding recently completed. What is the recommended image file size for a DVD Slideshow? Does the show have to be setup to auto execute? Thanks, Dennis
  11. Thanks Alan, I'll give that a try.
  12. I would like to install multiple groups of image files with each group having a different, synchronized mp3 file run in the background, all incorporated in a single slideshow. Is there a way to dedicate a synchronized mp3 file to a grouping of image files with a clean transition to the next grouping? Also, I have had consistent problems with the slideshow locking up or stuttering when transitioning to the next image. In many instances, the slideshow completely locks up. I tried dragging the slideshow to the hard drive and just let run from there and that works (if it let me transfer it). Could anyone explain why some slideshows will transfer to the hard drive and others will not? After reviewing the forum, I think the fix is to minimize the image file size. I feel like an idiot since my image files are running between 6 to 8 mb each with the total image file sizes ranging from 170mb to over 300mb. I will reduce the file sizes this evening and see if that helps. Thanks for the help, ddpitt
