  1. I open Windows Explorer after p2e has produced the temp file, and copy the temp file to a different location before clicking the p2e Finish button.
  2. It played fine - my issue was when I loaded it into Adobe Premiere. Depending on which codec I had used, some played fine in preview but not when rendered on the Premiere timeline. But that is a codec incompatiblity issue which I am working through and will post my solution once I have confirmed it. Terry
  3. Well actually I discovered that if I opened Windows Explorer after getting the temporary file created, and before writing to DVD, I could create an avi copy into another directory...when the original temp file vanishes the copy still remains.
  4. Wonderful solution! Thanks folks. Terry
  5. I did keep the file open - and actually copied the temporary avi to another location so I could get back to it if needed. More great tips on creating an mpg! Many thanks Ken. Terry
  6. Thanks Ken - I'll certainly do that in future - but for the present project I'm looking for an easy way to get them into one directory and have p2e still function.
  7. I'm using 4.41...and thanks for the tip JRR - I'll try that Terry
  8. Is there an easy way (a utility maybe?) to be able to relink images that have been moved? Why? 1.When I started one project I set up various subdirectories for images. I would now like to drag the images into one directory and be able to relink so p2exe can find the images in their new location. 2. I wanted to copy my .pte presentation (not the .exe) and associated files to a friend's PC who also has p2exe for them to work on. However because my friend's PC has a slightly different root directory [i.e Administrator/my documents rather than C/My Documents] their p2exe listed all the images as 'not found'
  9. My first presentation won our local club competition (!), and as our club works more with video than a/v they really want me to provide them with an avi file suitable for importing into Adobe Premiere 6.5 so the presentation can be compiled onto video tape along with conventional videos. I use Canopus Storm 2 hardware, so the provision of a canopus DV codec would solve this issue immediately. In the absence of this codec, has anyone succeeded in outputing an avi which can be imported into Premiere? I've managed to import in certain formats which looked good on direct preview in Premiere, but when dropped on the Adobe timeline showed the clip had to be rendered before outputting. Once rendered the output was a black screen, but with normal audio! So far Indeo 4.5 has come closest working although as the quality slider was set to minimum, the resulting clip appeared 'blocky' on my video monitor. I'm now trying to produce a video using Indeo 4.5 but with the quality slider set near 100%...but if you know of an easier way, or if there are more codecs available (or can we add our own?) - I'd love to know Regards, Terry Mendoza
  10. Yes Ken - exactly what I am looking for! I view in ACDSee but the editor programs listed were ones I never use for this (Fireworks, Canvas). All sorted - went to Folder Options in Control Panel and editted the file associations. Many thanks indeed. Terry
  11. Many thanks to ronwil, boxiq and Lumenlux for these encouraging responses. I would love to locate the facility that allows one to "open slide in preferred editor" (see why below) - tried everything but can't locate that one! My initial presentation won first prize at our club last evening which gave me a real boost Because I am a novice I had most pictures 400 - 700K and, combined with reasonably fast cutting caused sync to drift partway through. When I had previewed on a slower PC it had the same effect, along with 'doubling up' on some transitions. However, having read the forum I am now going through shrinking file sizes. Once all runs reasonably I'll upload a link as I'd like some honest feedback. Terry
  12. Well done Igor. I am used to moviemaking, but have just put together my first presentation with your excellent software, and am highly delighted. A few points you may wish to consider for the next version: A. Ability to Right click on image in Slide List and open it with one's favoured picture editor (for example Photoshop). This will allow simple filesize shrinking or 'tweaking' of images. B. Button on main window to bring up Customize Synchronization (rather than just via Project options) C. A colour change highlighting if transitions overlap on the Customize Synchronization window (not always easy to see right now) D. Similarly, a colour change for the shot markers indicating wherever image transitions have been placed so close on the timeline that there may be play issues unless the file sizes are small. E. Ability to Preview full screen from the point where the arrow is on timeline, rather than having to always play from the start of the movie F. Ability to select multiple transition points and move them all simultaneously the desired amount (i.e. keeping the time interval fixed between them. G. Ability to be able to drag and drop using, say, explorer and drop images into the image list. H. Ability to add coloured timing markers as guides on timeline, on the fly, by tapping a configured key. This would make assembling shots to the beat of the music easier. I. "Customize Synchronization" is not really discussed in the online manual. J. An autosave facility that can be configured for whatever interval the user wishes (My PC locked up when I had nearly completed a sequence and it took 4 hours to get back to the same point when I rebooted!) K. Ability to load a sequence, then append a second sequence. Brilliant work! Terry
