  1. I agree with you Dave on the size of image. Unfortunately they were taken in August 2010 before i managed to upgrade. Like yourself, i place it as a "must see" area of the word and i'm pleased to hear it brought back good memories. Thanks again. John
  2. Pleased to hear you enjoyed this AV Dick and your desire to visit Italy has been renewed It's one of our favourite holiday destinations. All the best John
  3. The Italian Amalfi coast is considered by "UNESCO" as an outstanding example of Mediterranian landscape. 1024 x 768 and 4.45min http://www.beechbrook.com/pte Many thanks to Bill Hines for hosting this AV. John
  4. Thanks Lin. It's good to hear you say this show brought back happy memories. We enjoyed our visit there very much and it was later at home, when i started to read the history that i deceided to attempt this as a project. Because i had not been able to find some good quality images for the first part, i ended up "cheating" in order for me to tell the story. Pronunciations i did fear would let me down and thanks Lin for explaining these to me. Thanks again Lin John
  5. My attempt to try and combine some basic history of Los Angeles together with my own photographs. Originally made in 2009 1024 x 768 10m : 30sec Audacity and Sampson microphone used Many thanks again to Bill Link to Beechbrook Added Link to Beechbrook - Lin - Moderator
  6. My thanks to both Mick and Gary for your comments Unfortunately i'm all packed at this moment and ready to go on further travels for 5 weeks. When i return home in the New Year i promise to look at this. In the meantime - Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. John
  7. The crisscrossing waters which snake from North to South along a 400 mile stretch of the Southern Indian state of Kerala, are undoubtedly one of the World's famous highlights. http://www.beechbrook.com/pte Many thanks to Bill Hines and his work.
  8. Hallo I did try the idea of some soft music but then i lost the effect i was trying for. Eventually i took the easy way and decided to to keep it simple. I'm pleased you enjoyed it and "yes", it was a fun day, but hot. All the best Les
  9. Thanks for your post Ralph. A great day at The Elephant Training Centre Chaing-Dao, Chaing Mai. After a buffet lunch which they provided, we then spent one and a half hours on the trek, which was followed by an hour rafting down the river to end what was a perfect day. I hope that one day you will also be able to enjoy. All the best Les
  10. Hallo Mick I'm pleased you enjoyed the show and i understand what you mean. My plan was to try and simulate the occasion. One thing i enjoy so much about PTE is the ability and flexability of ideas we can try. I have a few more new ideas in the pipeline. All the best Les
  11. Thanks Lin. I guess they must be some of the cleanest elephants in Thailand. It was a great day out and the camera was ideal, especially on the elephant trek. I've recently bought myself a Fuji Finepix HS20 EXR, which i'm also finding ideal for this type of photography. All the best Les
  12. Photographed in the mountain/forest area of the Chiang Mai province, using a Canon Powershot S1 camera. 1024 X 768 Res'n - 26.2MB - 7min.20sec http://www.beechbrook.com/pte
  13. Hi Eric/Yachtsman1 I do mean Slit's Open Market, known also as the Local Market. It is only a few steps away from the ferry and bus teminals and is on the outside of the western wall of the Diocletians Palace. The Open Air Market is on the eastern side which is a very much larger market and i have to admit i never saw it. There are also a few smaller market areas on the inside of the Palace, plus i believe the fish market. John
  14. Hi Ken I wonder? The fruit and veg' was selling well. John
  15. Many thanks again to Bill. 1920 x 1080 - 16.9mb - 4min http://www.beechbrook.com/pte
