The Italian Amalfi coast is considered by "UNESCO" as an outstanding example of Mediterranian landscape.

Many thanks to Bill Hines for hosting this AV.

Thanks Lin.
It's good to hear you say this show brought back happy memories.
We enjoyed our visit there very much and it was later at home, when i started to read the history that i deceided to attempt this as a project.
Because i had not been able to find some good quality images for the first part, i ended up "cheating" in order for me to tell the story.
Pronunciations i did fear would let me down and thanks Lin for explaining these to me.
Thanks again Lin

==================================
John,
Fasinating to see other parts of the world and how they live. I don't see any 'interference patterns' that Mick talked about. Maybe it is his monitor, not sure. What I noticed was that it looked like the images were reduced too much so that sharpness was lost. Many images had a 'painterly' effect or almost like they were done on canvas. Not sure how to exactly explain it. Perhaps, the 'mini-pans' made the movement seem a bit 'jumpy', if I can use that technical term...
But I liked the music and the 'trip'.
Gary
My thanks to both Mick and Gary for your comments
Unfortunately i'm all packed at this moment and ready to go on further travels for 5 weeks.
When i return home in the New Year i promise to look at this.
In the meantime - Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.

The crisscrossing waters which snake from North to South along a 400 mile stretch of the Southern Indian state of Kerala, are undoubtedly one of the World's famous highlights.
Many thanks to Bill Hines and his work.

Les,
It looked like a really fun trip. I just loved the elephants. The sound effects were most suitable as well, although I think I might have added a bit more soft music in the background overlayed with the sound effects. Thanks for sharing this trip of a lifetime!
Hallo
I did try the idea of some soft music but then i lost the effect i was trying for. Eventually i took the easy way and decided to to keep it simple.
I'm pleased you enjoyed it and "yes", it was a fun day, but hot.
All the best

Hello Les,
Enjoyed your show, its a place I would love to visit so thank you for the insight.
I like the sound effects and think you did well with them without going over the top and clinical (IMHO)
Like others I look for ward to a sequence of your next adventure
ralph
Thanks for your post Ralph.
A great day at The Elephant Training Centre Chaing-Dao, Chaing Mai.
After a buffet lunch which they provided, we then spent one and a half hours on the trek, which was followed by an hour rafting down the river to end what was a perfect day.
I hope that one day you will also be able to enjoy.
All the best

A thoroughly enjoyable show giving a real feel for your wonderful adventure. Excellently shot with very good compositions for the most part, maybe a very few of the repetative shots could have been cut but for you and family and friends just great. I look forward to your next adventure.
Hallo Mick
I'm pleased you enjoyed the show and i understand what you mean. My plan was to try and simulate the occasion. One thing i enjoy so much about PTE is the ability and flexability of ideas we can try.
I have a few more new ideas in the pipeline.
All the best

Nice one Johnnie. Just like being there except no insect bites! They look like they take good care of their elephants and their tourists as well! The little S1 IS is a great camera for this type record....
Best regards,
Lin
Thanks Lin. I guess they must be some of the cleanest elephants in Thailand. It was a great day out and the camera was ideal, especially on the elephant trek. I've recently bought myself a Fuji Finepix HS20 EXR, which i'm also finding ideal for this type of photography.
All the best

Hi Eric/Yachtsman1
I do mean Slit's Open Market, known also as the Local Market.
It is only a few steps away from the ferry and bus teminals and is on the outside of the
western wall of the Diocletians Palace.
The Open Air Market is on the eastern side which is a very much larger market and i have to admit
i never saw it.
There are also a few smaller market areas on the inside of the Palace, plus i believe the fish market.

FLIGHT over OAHU
First,i would like to thank Bill at Beechbrook as this is the first i have ever posted.
The AV has been made using some photographs i took in 2006, using a Canon Powershot S1 camera.
Using PTE 6.5 first and then making some alterations in PTE 7.0, i've attempted to give a video effect.
By using the Animation and Effects, to create the experience of flying in the helecopter on that day.
I have also included a sequence of Peal Harbour in remembrance of December 7th 1941. 70 years ago.
File Size:- 23.1MB
Length:- 10m.30s
Resolution:- 1024 x 768 x 72
No: of Slides:- 86 - 53 original photographs
The soundtrack is a combination of HELECOPTER INFLIGHT SOUND CLIPS.

Tony
Before you decide which to buy, i think the following web-sites are worth looking at for further imformation:
1. www.thetecstop.net/?page_id=940 This is a YouTube vidio on the Samson H2
2. www.audio-ideas.com/reviews/mp3/samson=zoom=h2-recorder-review
I know you are also interested in costs;
The Samson H4 is around £215:95
The -:- H2 -:- £139:95
I hope this does help you and not confuse you further
Best of luck

Hallo again Tony
As Peter has explained, when making a voice-over, quality is hard to find.
This has been a pathway i've been along, trying to decide, while also thinking of the cost.
I chose the Samson Q1U Dynamic USB after reading several web-sites and ringing a company called -
Music On My Pc Ltd - ( www.musiconmypc.co.uk ) who advised me this would be the one for me.
The microphone is mounted on its short stand on my desktop and connected via a USB lead, just in front of the monitor. My
Tower PC is below.
Regarding any "tricks" - don't have a TV/Radio playing - but joking apart, i've just done a couple of tests by running it on
Audacity. With the room windows open and with the microphone recording, the low key noises outside showed very, very slightly. When i recorded Voice, these other noises could not be heard.
For me, this works great and causes no problem with the finished result.
Good luck with your search.

Hi Tony
Another avenue for you to look at: Samson Microphones
www.samsontech.com
I bought there Q1U USB Dynamic microphone which i've found to be very good.
Never have i picked up any fan, or other noises when recording and only costs around £35 .
There are other microphones which are only around £70
You simply just connect into a USB and load into your PC/Laptop
I hope this may be of some help to you

Hallo Mario
I'ts always easy when we know how!
From my own experience, starting from basics is the best way forward, although i may have had experience before,
there are always new ways and ideas to be learnt.
I have found all the Tutorials on the Forum excellent and i think the authors do a great job, although i think i know
what you mean when it comes to someone starting to learn for the first time.
I agree with other members advice and from my own experience there could be a DVD Tutorial by:
Barry Beckham on his web site: www.beckhamdigital.co.uk.
One that may be of interest to help for you is: PicturesToExe 5 Delux Starter DVD - 5 hours of vidio, including
animation. The price here in the is UK £13.50 British Pounds + tax.
No! I'm not a salesman
I hope this may be of help to yourself and others and enjoy this excellent programm. Also a "BIG THANK YOU" to all
the members who help us all with their tutorials

Colin,
Thanks for your reply. I was trying to avoid re-sizing my images as I've set up this show of a friends wedding and there are quite a few slides. I'll probably try the "percentage reduction" method first.
Thanks for also pointing out where to find the "TV safe zone" button. I knew it existed from previous versions of PTE but have been searching for ages to find it.
Norrie.
Hi Norrie
A few of us seem to be having similar problems and i started a Post under Vidio Builder 5.0 on the forum.
I have just added some information in my relplies to Felix and Norrie which i hope may help you.

Thanks for information:
could you precise which parameters you have used : video options 720 x 576 ?, aspect ratio 4:3 or 16:9, birate...
on your TV, did you select manually 4:3 16:9 or other format?
In any case, as numerical genuine format is 3:2 or ratio 1.5 for 1024 x 683, how did you get a correct proportion image 3:2 on screen ?
Thanks to clarify.
Olivier
Hallo Olivier
Sorry for my delay in answering but i've put some details on my reply to Felix yesterday, under this post, which might be of interest to you.

I agree with you Dave on the size of image.
Unfortunately they were taken in August 2010 before i managed to upgrade.
Like yourself, i place it as a "must see" area of the word and i'm pleased to hear it brought back good memories.
Thanks again.
