Many thanks to you both. Have upgraded to v8 and got it sorted more or less straight away. Played around for a while and discovered that if you double click on the 'live image' transitions come up in there. Previously I had been using the Project Options box in the bottom left corner.

I am having big problems with transitions on my latest AV. I want a circular shape transition coming up from the centre on some slides and going into the centre on others and some with no transitions at all. Overall I must have spent two hours trying to get these to work but to no avail. I can enter the transition but after I’ve entered three or four, I go back and check it and it has lost some, or reversed them from ‘from the centre’ to ‘to the centre’. Even trying to enter one transition can fail; sometimes the transitions appear on two or three subsequent slides. When I have managed to get it accepted successfully, I have saved the project immediately. When I’ve opened it, it can have lost the transitions. There is no regular pattern to it. I’m running version 7.5.3. All my images are jpg. and 1728x1080. I asked a friend who is a much more experienced user of PTE and it has foxed him. Can someone help me please, without being technical; my brain frizzles in situations like this. Thanks. David

After much brain testing and copying of layers and PNGing, I have got my problem sorted successfully. Thank you all for your help David

Hopefully it should be OK this time. I have reduced the file sizes even more, last time the project was just over 2MB, this is well below 1MB. Oops, nearly forgot to attach it, after all this hassle for you.

As requested a copy of just the first face of 'Face In' is attached including the main headstone and my oval frame. I have stretched it a bit so you can see the elements I've put in. The images have been reduced in size as has the file size when saving the images. David

At last it's making more sense thanks to your suggestions. My shots are in a cemetery and I'm trying to get a sequence of faces of 'angels' on memorial stones to appear through an oval frame on another headstone. The PTE frame and my own PNG frame from CS5 are fine. The faces are part of full frame images which have been partially cropped to allow for movement to appear in the correct place through my frame. I thought that only the parts of the faces images would appear through the frame. This is not so. All the face frame appears and blocks out everything else then disappears at the set time. I hope you can follow that. Is there a solution please ? david

I use Faststone as my thumbnailer and PS CS5 for editing.

Is it possible to make frames in O&A either circular or oval ? I've spent some time searching and practising, but unfortunately can't find an answer. I want to bring in a sequence of faces into an AV I'm preparing. I feel that this would give a better result rather than square or rectangular. Any advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated for one who gets easly confused. David

SOLVED Thank you all for your help and comments, but I've got it sorted. I've been trying all sorts of things over the last few days which is why I haven't replied, and at last got the answer. The image I'd been having problems with was No 4 in a sequence and it was open for 17 seconds. What I had done was set the fade in from No 3 so that it ran into No 4 for most of that time. Consequently, the child images were coming in before the parent was fully open. As soon as I shortened that 3 to 4 fade to a few seconds, hey presto, all was fine. I now have now my AV as intended. Thanks again.

NO. haven't changed any of them. Pan/zoom/rotate are all on Linear.

Have just been trying to get a screen grab. Each time I've tried a comment on the new file in Photoshop says 'Author of this slide show does not permit copying etc'. I have unclicked the 'don't allow copying by print screen' in the project options box, but I stilll keep getting that reply. So, regrettably at the moment I can't send a screen grab. David

Thanks for your quick reply. I appreciate that the images will be less than 100% while coming in and zooming up to full screen. The problem is when the introduced images are fully open, during their 5 second full appearance, that is when their opacity is not 100%. Whilst they are zooming out and minimizing, again that is working correctly with opacity decreasing to zero. Will try a screen grab, not sure on how. David

On one landscape slide, I want to zoom in three verticals in sequence to a central position from zero opacity up to 100%, then after 5 seconds down to zero to disappear. In O&A box all is OK and runs well. When I run the AV full screen the background slide is still visible through the introduced slides. I have spent hours trying to sort this and have re-checked opacities several times, but no success yet. Can anyone advise me how to clear this problem please. (NOW SOLVED - see later)
