  1. Either I'm doing something wrong, but I cannot download this. Clicking on it, once I'm on your site, doesn't do anything either. "Where is" the download button??

As it states, you need to log in. And in order to be able to log in, you need to register. Then, out of nowhere, the download button will appear. Pure magic! ;)

  2. You might try this. Make sure (if possible) that the vanishing player has focus (starting it and doing nothing after that will probably do). Now hit Alt+Spacebar and choose Move. Now use the arrow keys to move the the program onto your screen. If it disappeared upwards and to the left, just hit down and right arrow keys until it appears.

  3. This is the first time I have been on any forum and many terms seem alien to me so please forgive me for my ignorance. Can any one tell me how I obtain pte 5 as I don't seem to be able to find it and you all seem to be working with it at the moment At present I am on 4.43 and have had great enjoyment in seeng my slide shows projected on to a screen. However, seeing the type of work that some of you do I feel at the bottom of the stack in terms of creativety at the moment.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find it here: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4327

  4. Over 250 members have looked at this post and I am surprised at the lack of response. Is it that people are afraid to use this program because of the 'bad comments' it has received in the various forums? Somebody once said that the 'Ford 8' was a badly designed motor car, yet it went on to become the most popular car in the 1950's. I would like to make contact with anyone who is actually using this software and not just talking about it, especially anyone in my immediate location, i.e. South Wales.

I've been using it for donkey's years. No problem at all, never get anything "harmful" here - e-mail is much, much worse! I prefer MSN Messenger to ICQ, actually; GoogleTalk isn't half bad either.

But I'm not in your 'immediate location', am I? :) Northern Sweden and South Wales are not exactly close neighbours.

  5. Thanks for that guru.

However, if I click on the preview, it only pauses it to be unpaused when I click again. There are no left and right arrows???? Even if I select the option of "always show mouse cursor" there's no difference! Tried on an .exe but its just the same.

I think it must be something simple, but can't quite work out what!!! I'm using 4.46.

    Thanks

    Miranda

Project Options --> Advanced: Show Navigation Bar?

  6. I thought I saw it on this forum but a search did not turn up what I was looking for. I am using WinAmp to listen to some nice slow Jazz and was wanting to capture that and have tried Audiocity but does not work.

Can anyone suggest how to record that music?

    Thanks,

I use Screamer Radio which is totally free and contains no ads. And you just hit Record in Screamer Radio to save the stream to your hard disk. Go to http://www.screamer-radio.com

(Very nice forum there as well!)

  7. I the past I always had the actual file lame_end.dll this time as you see in the attachment I used a 3.96final and when I unzipped it, it did show this lame_end.dll file. I re-started the computer but no encoder file working for audacity.

    Harry

Actually you can put the lame_enc.dll (Sic!) anywhere you like (but \System32 is a good choice). But you've got to tell Audacity where it is. See Edit | Preferences | File formats (rough translation from Swedish) in Audacity. See MP3 Export on that tab and browse to your lame_enc.dll.

  8. Found this:

"Audacity currently supports displaying MIDI files if you import them using Import MIDI in the Project menu.

Audacity does not support playing, recording, or editing MIDI files. It does not even support saving MIDI Tracks in a project file. These features are planned for a future version of Audacity, which will not be available until at least 2004.

The current functionality is useful to only a small group of people who are studying algorithms that relate MIDI data to audio data and simply wish to see the visual representation of the MIDI data and how it lines up with the audio data."

    - "...until at least 2004." Hmmm...

  9. I'm always amazed at the wealth of information on this forum in addition to PTE! :D Thanks Leif for the link to Screamer Radio. A freeware that really works as stated. The fact that it is recordable, it would be conceivable to grab some clips for P2E shows. Have you tried to do that Leif?

    Bill

I've been using MP3 files recorded with Screamer for some of my P2E presentations, yeah. No problem at all. Agree with you, Screamer rocks!

  10. Sorry, but I don't think so. :(

I always use Save as... and Create Slideshow As... to be on the safe side. Once burnt...

But I agree with you. You actually should get a question about overwriting (perhaps optional). Comments, Igor?
