  1. hi Peter

I have tried the settings you mentioned in your previous post What I would like you to try is turning off the "Use customized settings..." on all three slides and also return the button values to "By default..." on each of the three slides but I'm afraid it has made no difference.

  2. Hi Peter

    thanks for your reply.

Strange that it causes no problems in 5.5.

I have just tried the same thing on my laptop.

I opened my menu show which works correctly in 5.5 into 5.6, I altered no settings at all, I then resaved this with a different name.

Then I reopened the show in 5.6 and when running it in preview mode I have the same problems occuring.

    Kind regards

    paul

  3. Hi Peter,

thanks for your offer to look at the settings to my menu, I have created a backup in zip and sent you an invitation to download it, to the email address listed in your post.

I very much appreciate your kindness.

Please let me know if you receive it.

I also have a similar menu on my laptop, when I get a minute I'll try on there and see if I get the same results.

    Kind regards

  4. Hi

just another obeservation whether it sheds any light on the problem or not I don't know.

The three pages of my menu show are set to 4 seconds each in the Project Options/main tab, if I run my menu show and select a show to run within 4 seconds then it runs the correct show, if I wait longer than 4 seconds it selects the show directly on the page underneath.

    Kind regards

    Paul

  5. Hi Peter

    thanks for your advice.

I tried the settings that you suggested, but I still get the same problem ie the show on the next page playing instesd of the show I click on.

In 5.5 I didn't even have to have the following option checked 'Project Option...Main...Show settings...Wait for a key press or mouse click to show next slide' and it worked no problem. Even with this option checked and setting the options as you suggest in 5.6 I still get the problem as related in my first post.

The only thing that seems to work in 5.6 is the following setting 'customise slide/main/timing 'Loop this slide'

    Kind regards

    Paul

  6. Hi

    thanks for your help Stuart.

I think I have found something that works, whether it is the correct way to do it or not, I don't know, but anyway it works and

i'ts not causing any other problems at the moment.

In 5.5, the customise slide/main/timing the option 'Wait for a key press or mouse click to show next slide' option was chosen

and everything worked fine. I have now found that if I choose customise slide/main/timing 'Loop this slide' option in 5.6 everything seems to work as it did before.

Thanks again for your reply Stuart

    Kind regards

  7. Hi

I will try and explain this as best I can.

I have a 3 page menu to run my pte shows.

These pages are identical in their layout, buttons etc.

In p2e 5.5 the menu works as it should.

In p2e 5.6 the menu is doing something strange.

When I am on page 1 of the menu I can select the show to run via the buttons as normal in p2e 5.5.

In p2e 5.6 when I wait for 6 seconds say, when I select the button to run a show on page 1 of the menu, it actually runs the show on page 2 of the menu, which is the button directly underneath it.

In the files below it shows 2 pages of my menu, when I click on the button 'Holidays' on page 1 of my menu it runs the show 'Michael and Karen' on page 2 of my menu.

I also have the same problem with page 2 + 3, ie if I select a show on page 2 it runs the show directly beneath on page 3.

I have tried opening the menu in 5.5 and then saving it again under a different name, and then opening it in 5.6 and saving it again under a different name, with still the same problem occuring.

Any help with this problem would be gratefully appreciated.

    kind regards

    Paul

  8. Hi

    UPDATE

Due to comments made by Barry and Neil and being unhappy with the music choice myself I have now changed the music to the show.

If you woud like to see the new show use the original link in my opening post and download the file with the word public on the end. (one is 1440x900 and the other is 1024x768)

If you do have a look let me know if you think it is any better.

    Many thanks

    Kind regards

    Paul

  9. Barry

thank you very much for your reply and all the help and advice which you give, and the insights into the way you work,I appreciate it very much. As I said I find it a real struggle to match the music with the slides, hopefully the things you have mentioned will make things easier.

Regarding the offer of a track to use, I also thank you, and have emailed you concerning this, hope this is ok.

Thanks again for the time you have taken to reply and for your help.

    Kind regards

    Paul

  10. Hi Neil and Barry,

Thank you both for your comments. I agree with you about the music, I wasn't happy about it when i put the snow together.

In fact I probably spent nearly as much time trying to find music as i did putting the show together.

I personally find trying to find a suitable piece of music for my shows hard work and a real drudge, it almost takes the enjoyment out of making the shows in the first place.

It also makes me very hesitant to start to put another show together because i know that I have to face this 'problem' with the music.

Does anyone else have this trouble or is it just me?

Barry and Neil, do you have any suggestions as to a suitable piece of music for this show, if you do it would be very much appreciated.

    many thanks

    Kind regards

    Paul

  11. Hi

I have put together a show using similar techniques to those used by Barry Beckham in his show 'The Art of Cornwall', sorry Barry but it is not as good as yours!

The photographs were taken by my wife and I whilst on holiday in the Lake District in th UK last September, the wether was pretty dull most of the time, hence the lack of blue sky.

Not sure if the show is too long, or that the music is suitable, or if it's boring with the use of the same time for slides and transitions, anyway please feel free to have a look and let me know what you think.

There are two versions of the show at the following link, one is 1440 x 900 (23mb approx) and the other is 1024 x 768 (15mb approx)

The show runs for about 8 minutes.

    Hope you enjoy.

    Kind regards

    Paul.

  12. Hi

here is a link to a download of a slideshow (New Norfolk), it will be available for two or three days or so.

This is a slideshow of some photographs taken on our holidays last October on the North Norfolk coast in the UK.

    Hope you enjoy.

    Kind regards

    Paul

Sorry the link has now been removed.

  13. Hi, Barry another great show. thanks for sharing it.

I always look forward to seeing your work. Hopefully one day i will be able to produce something of a similar ilk, but I doubt it, still it's very enjoyable trying.

I have often thought of putting some video tutorials together on this way of working, but I am not sure it would have much appeal as its a lot of work. In my view it is the absolute best, but the most demanding and time consuming, but then what else do I have to do.

I would be interested if you were to produce the tutorials mentioned above.

    many thanks

    kind regards

    paul

  14. Hello Barry,

I was first introduced to P2E through an article you did in digital photo magazine, for which i thank you, i have also been to one of your lectures at Ely, which was both enjoyable and informative, i have also thoroughly enjoyed the many slideshows that you have produced over the years.

I own both a laptop and desktop pc with a 16:10 screen ratio running at their native resolutions of 1440 x 900 pixels and fitted with a nvidia 7600 graphics card, and i don't believe i am able to change to the 1280 x 1024 (as 1440 x 900 is the largest option to be able to choose) resolution that you recommend to view your latest slideshow, with your comment about not bothering to download the slideshow, does this mean that I will not be able to view and enjoy any of your slideshows again? That would be a great pity.

Having just purchased both laptop and pc monitor fairly recently, I doubt that I would be able to convince my good lady to buy new again  .

    Many thanks.

    kind regards

    paul
