I have created my first file avi with a presentation done with PTE and at the outset an error announcement takes place.

One question: Do you work with PTE5 in french?
I had seen this problem, perhaps "bug", when I change from english to spanish language.
If in english version there is the DVD option selected (near time line button), when I change to spanish the button change to video but the option do not change and if I press in this button Video Builder begin.
So, to avoid this you need go to View/Advanced options and select (reselect) Show dialog on video button
