I agree, but as I stated on previous posts, it did not work! Only my first song played to the end of slide 37 and the second song never started (both songs were highlighted and listed under track 1). Maybe just a fluke, I'll try again in another show, but I need to complete this one first! I really do appreciate your reply, I'm grateful for the forums!

Hi, I'm still hoping someone can help me out regarding my last post! I've made several attempts, and finally was able to customize and tick play new background music on slide #38 (no music plays), then on slide 39 under customize it's ticked on play new background music and my second song is highlighted (song #1 is not even listed), slide #40 nothing is ticked under customize and song 2 continues to play. This is very confusing. I would think that under project options after choosing my 2 songs, it would play one and then continue on to the second. I can leave it how it is, but the music from the first song ends abruptly (I have fade out for 5 seconds), and the next starts after skipping a slide!! I'm sure I'm missing something and again would sincerely appreciate any help! Linda Leona

Hi Ken and all other helpers! First, Thank you again for all your input. I've chosen my music: two songs. I tick project options and I added them under music (track 1) I also have ticked repeat music after playing. I have the track 1 and both songs highlighted and tick ok. I go to preview and it plays the first song for the 3:29 which is to slide number 37, and the second song does not play ( I have 96 slides total). I've read the guide regarding adding music, and have also read multiple threads in the forums. Can you please help me, I need to finish this in a few days!! LindaEmail me

Ken, and everyone else who offered their help --- Thank you! Alena,(from tech suppport) sent me another key and all worked great! I just completed a sample show. Played it in dvd player and also on my mac - looked and sounded good! Now, a little off the subject, I need to find some great music for this retiring nurse, something with an upbeat temple --- any suggestions??? Also, this is only the second time I'm adding music to a show, so is there an easy way to have one song for a selection of slides and another for the remaining slides?? Thanks Again!!

Hi Ken, you probably don't remember me, but you have helped me in the past, several years ago when I needed help burning a slideshow to a DVD! I have had PTE since 2003 and really enjoy making family slideshows, zipping them and emailing them to my children. I haven't done one for a while, and recently started a project: slideshow for retirement of my friend, another nurse. My first problem was that somehow I couldn't open the program (very old version). I contacted tech support, they did not have record of my purchase, I was able to verify, and Alena sent me a new key. I still haven't been able to insert key, but the new version downloaded. I now have the standard version 6.5. (it does ask to download key once in awhile, but I usually can bypass). Several years ago I created a slideshow (music in the background) and burned it on a dvd, this is what I am trying to do now, but can't. I have read pages in guide, many forums, but without a clue! I'm hoping you can help! I am not savvy, but like one of the threads stated: no dummy would have chosen PTE!! So, this is what I've tried: !. Slideshow with music,preview was good 2. Click create 3. Choose DVD- Video DISc (is this what I should choose? 4.Window pops up asking to load key to upgrade to PTE Deluxe, I bypass this (do I need this to burn a DVD, I didn't have this when I previously made a DVD)I close this pop up 5. WnSoft Video Builder 6.5 opens with top rt. corner: file Edit Help 6. I click Next, title info pops up 7. Click next: project name, check mark Burn dvd disc, listed is my dvd drive 8. I click start and then comes the popup "CD burning not supported" What inportant, easy (I hope) step am I missing?? I sincerely would appreciate any help you can offer. I have sent a few questions back to support regarding the key, but have not gotten any answers. ( It's been about 10 days - I sent out another one tonight) I don't know if the key is a problem, because I was able to email a small show from a recent family gathering to my PC and MAC friends ( love the ability for Mac users to now be able to open my shows!)Again, I would sincerely appreciate any help you can give me or direction to follow! I have PTE 4.48 version, is the Deluxe version a free upgrade, if not what is the cost for upgrading? Also, is it as user friendly? I've been using PTE for about 4 years and absolutely love it for my family slideshows! Any other useful information on the deluxe version? All I really want to do is let Mac friends open my show! I have family members who have Macs, and are unable to open my PTE slideshows. I have also tried sending as a zip, without luck. When I make the show, I can only save as an exe. Is there anyway they can view my shows, easily? I really appreciate any input! Thank you!

I have another question, and then hopefully I will be ready to TRY! After making a picture show (no Sound) of 12 pictures, using the Logitech codec the size is 205MB ( this is using 300 x 240). I noticed that the fabulous Caledonia Canvas by Phil with multiple pics and sound was only 13.51MB. After reading more tutorials, I think maybe this has to do with the codec??? Which I still don't understand! My drop down list has multiple possibilities of codec: Cinepak Codek by Radius - Microsoft RLE - Microsoft Video 1 - Micro. H.263 - Micro. H.261 and more. Should I be using some other to compress before I ZIP? Thanks, Leona

Ken, Thanks for the information! I easily was able to watch the Caledonia Canvas show, but was unable to get the Netherlands show! Oh Well, as breathtaking as the show was, I am still unsure how to go about emailing my friends and family with Macs my shows of my beautiful grandchildren with red-eyes and cut off heads (only sometimes!)Seriously, do I still need to make my picture slideshows in AVI to send? I'm very familiar with making the pte file (application) and zipping it! Can I then follow your directions with Mediafire? When I did make my picture show in AVI it wasn't as nice as the normal show I usually send. I sincerely hope my questions are not too elementary! Hi again, After my last reply, I read Ken's reply on how to make an AVI file and think I completed it correctly. Now my problem is it's way to large to email to my Mac friends. I don't understand Codec, but chose Logitech Video (1420)???. I decreased the size to 300 x 240 FPS=29.7. Is there an easy way to email, I don't want to send dvd's, to my Mac friends and families? I love pte, use it for family pics only and occassionally make a dvd. I really am out of my league here, but sincerely enjoy reading all the info and tips is this forum. Lin, Thank you for your reply! I don't know if I quite understand how to do this-----I put together a few pictures, then I went under the Video tab and checked create custom AVI video file, then I clicked on Create AVI, and saved it. It is now saved as a pic to exe. project and under properties it states it opens with APR. Is this correct? Can I now email it to my friends with MACs to view? I really appreciate all your help! I've made several slideshows that I would like to email to friends with Macs, but unfortunately they can not view them. Is there any way I can send for their viewing? Thanks, Leona

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I'm hoping someone can give me information regarding emailing my slideshows! My pictures are 2048 x 1536 pix. After downloading from my camera I go to image experts software and resize each photo I plan to use in my slideshow (this takes quite awhile-can only do each pic singlely). I then open pics to exe. and make the slideshow. Next, I zip it and finally send to my family! Is there an easier way? Does pic to exe. resize? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! I only make shows for family pictures to email! Thank you and wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

Hi again, Currently I resize one photo at a time in Image Expert, then open in my new PTE project to create a slideshow to Email to friends. Is there an easier way or mostly, a quicker way to accomplish this? After completion of show, I do zip prior to emailing. I really do love this forum, its been a saver for me! Thanks, again! Also, can you add music to show for email? (hope this isn't a silly question!)

Thanks, Tom for your reply! I've attempted to make several videos again ( all my tries are very short, approx. 5 to 10 slides only, with background music.) Apparently, when I click create video, I cannot check on the Ulead box, even though that is what I'll be using. It then saves as type PTEV file, and this does not show the slideshow, just the music. When I don't check the Ulead box it auto. saves as a microsoft AVI file, and this does both the slideshow and the music! ( although once, when I tried choosing it in MF5Plus, it didn't work, very tempermental! But at least I think this will usually solve my problem. Previously, on my pc when I burned a data slideshow with music, the slideshow would continue to loop and the music would continue until you closed----with the video, it appears that the music stops at the end of the show, also slideshow ends----is there any way I can change this to continue? Also, I will need to purchase Ulead Movie factory 5 $49.00 or Ulead MF 5 Plus for $79.00, any opinion? They have a comparison on their website, but I don't really understand exactly what I need to accomplish the above. I'm definately a beginner and will only use what I need. I love pte for the shows! Only want to copy SVCD to CD! Thanks again, Leona

Hello again! I really hope I'm not ruining your forum ( I don't quite understand how this works - but really do appreciate any help I can get!) So, here's the latest: I continue to try to create with pte, and burn with ulead MfPlus trial version. Now, sometimes I get both slideshow with music and other times just background music! I am sure I'm doing the same steps each time! 1. Click "Video" in opening screen pte. 2. choosing svcd, Ulead MF. 3. Click on preview - get screen: "making of AVI video file encoding audio" next, windows media player opens and either I have both slideshow and music, or just music. I then close out of windows media. I click "finish" ( remember I only chose Preview) This brings me back to original screen! I again click "Video", now I'm back to screen: making of AVI file. I make sure choices are correct, and then click create--this brings me to Save as screen. Save in : My Videos, file name:xxx,Save as type: microsoft AVI files, *avi. Save. Next screen: creating audio. The finish screen appears ( I don't close) I open my ulead mf5plus. Pick New project,create video disc. I continue with steps by choosing my video! So, this I very wordy and I appologize, But if anyone can decipher my problem, I would be grateful! I'm still ?'ing whether to purchase mf5plus, also! Thanks Leona

Thank you for answering! I do not click the finish button in the video screen! After my posting I continued trying without any luck. Once I complete the "Create AVI file", I minimize, and open my Movie Factory 5, I then go to my saved file to add----I then received this message: You may experience problems playing a video track in "pte_vidtmp_8155637.avi" because the required compressor could not be found. Would you like to close the movie or continue? I click contiinue, and again only music! Any thoughts, or suggestions? I can't understand how I was able to make a great slideshow with music and burn to cd the first time and now I can't! Also, is pte version 5.0 easier and better? Does it cost, or can I upgrade? I really need help! This is the first time ever doing a posting on any forum! I have had pte for a few years and have loved making slideshows and emailing them to my children. Recently I burned to cd, but unfortunately I was only able to play a pc, not on a DVD. I contacted wnsoft support and they suggested I upgrade to pte 4.48, which I did. I followed all instructions and was able to burn cd with help of movie factory 5 trial version. Since, I have made several attempts, but am unable to do. In pte project screen I add my pictures, effects, and music. I preview, and it's okay. I then click on Video, choose SCVD,NTSC, Ulead PF 5. Next, I preview and all I have is a black screen (no pictures) but I do have the music. I've also tried no preview, just creating AVI and saving. I open my MF 5 and again I have music, but no slideshow!! Please help! Leona
