  1. Thank you for your quick reply. In the mean time though I had discovered that what I wanted to do was easy by using text boxes instead of buttons. To answer your question I am putting the invisible PTE text over the text on my siide which I created it in Photoshop.
  2. I want to use several different buttons as links on a slide. How can I make "invisible" buttons with no text to serve as my links? I've already disovered how to make a transparent background so I'm in good shape there. Thanks.
  3. I want to create my own navigation bar icons, Photoshop, for use on a photo gallery show. Can anyone help me figure out how to load them so they're called up in Project Options. Also what size, in pixels, woule be a good place for me to start with sizing the icons. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for the reply. I was sure this question had been answered to death somewhere but I had no luck in my search for it.
  5. Can anyone tell me the minimum image size (in pixels) and resolution for producing full screen (or nearly full screen) high quality images? I'm using these images in a photo gallery. I've run all sorts of trial and error tests with varying results. Is there some kind of standard number that you've found works best?
  6. This works pretty well - thanks. I created the second slide very much like you suggested. To get the show to work the way I wanted however I also had to remove all music from the show in "Project Options". I left the "repeat music" box checked. I then added the music back onto the main slide with the Customize slide menu options. No music plays when the new slide I've created opens but I can live with that because there's no reason for my users to linger there. They're either going to or coming from the website. I also don't care that the music doesn't restart where it left off. If anyone has a more "elegant" solution I'd be glad to hear it but I very much appreciate all the suggestions. Thanks...
  7. I added the music in the project options - no luck in getting it to pause. After reading your post I inserted the music in the customize slide area; also no luck. I'm not familiar with your second idea though. How do I go about tryign this?
  8. Just tried it - twice just be be sure - no luck. I'm open to other suggestions though...
  9. Ok I found the "pause" option and checked it. It doesn't however stop the music from playing. Any other ideas???
  10. I know I have seen this option somewhere but can't find it now - where is it located???
  11. In PTE v5 I've created a presentation that is like a "business card". It has a main page - a menu - that links to some other exes I've created in PTE. My menu show continues to play in the background with music while the other exes run. Here's my problem: I'm adding a link to a website which is also playing a song. What this means is that there are two songs going at the same time - not what I want . Is there a way to turn off the music on the PTE presentation while the web page is up and then have it automatically start up again when the user closes out the website, returning to my PTE "main menu"? Thanks...
  12. Lin, thanks for the suggestion. As best I can tell your idea has corrected my issue. I did have some minor animation running on my business card but I can live without it. The galleries now now play flawlessly both inside and outside the main file on my laptop which is pretty quick. They do however load very slowly and play slowly, sometimes freezing up, on my old and slow 7 year old desktop with only 256 mb RAM and integrated video. This isn't too suprising but if I remove all animation and have just a simple fade from one slide to the next will this improve permormance? JEB asked about the size of my files - I think I will downsize them a little more if I can't improve performance by removing animation. Im using this project to display my high school senior photography so I do need them to be of nice quality however. I'm hopeful that most of my end users will have hardware better than my old computer! Thanks again.
  13. I've used PTE for many years and love it. I am, however, having a problem with a show I've been working on for about a week. It has three exe files all created in PTE. The first file is the equivalent of a "video busniess card". It has an opening slide and then a slide that I've set to stay on the screen for a long time. The second slide has links to pdf's, websites and the two other exe files I've created. These two other exe files are galleries of portraits. When I run the gallery shows directly, that is alone or independant of the first file, they each always run great - every time. However, much of the time but not always, when I run them by clicking on the links I've created to them on the busniess card they operate very poorly. They run very very slowly and almost lock up my system. Other times they quickly load and play great. My video business card file is about 3mb in size as it inlcudes a music file. The two galleries are about about 6mb each; they have no music. Am I missing something? Would I have better luck creating this show with an older version of PTE? I am using pte v5 and windows xp media center edition 2004. I'd appreciate any help as I've got a deadline in about a week...
