  1. Thanks to all of you for your replies. Yes, I tried running the show unsynced--still wouldn't run. It will run fine with no music files added. I've burned it to cd, and tried running it on three different machines--no luck. On my laptop (where I created show) I have 30 gig HD, 256 ram Pentium 3. When I synched the music, I did it in the auto mode. I've never gotten into the timeline, or customizing synching of music. Could something be wrong with the music files? I use only the "fade" transisition. It looks like the slide takes about 2-3 seconds to transition. It plays fine until it gets to the second song--then hangs up on the slide. There is a delay between the songs--always has been when I've used multiple songs on a show. I just thought there was no way around that.
  2. I am having big problems with a slideshow I've been working on for weeks. There are 413 slides (wedding), and I'm trying to sync it to music. I've added up to seven songs, and it will run fine through the first song, and then the slide hangs up, and the show can't proceed. I've tried cutting the show in half, with four songs, still won't run. The slideshow works fine without music. I'm using mp3 files, and jpegs that are sized to 400x600. I've done other jobs even with up to 350 images set to music, but for some reason, I can't get it to work now. These are music files I copied from a cd to my hardrive via the windows media player. I read the post from someone else about editing the music into one file. Does it sound like that's my problem? if so--does anyone know the website for audacity, or another sound editing program? Many thanks--Connie
  3. Thanks for your replies. This may make me sound stupid--but how do you merge 3 songs into one? Connie
  4. Hi guys--thanks so much to those of you who helped me solve my problem last week. I sent my cd off to the client and she just called to say that after the first song (there are three songs, synced to slideshow with 150 images and fades) the slideshow stopped, both music and slides, and a picture appeared like split between two images. It then wouldn't run any further. I tested it on 3 of my computers, and it ran fine. Any ideas why this could have happened? My guess would be the memory on her computer is not sufficient to play the slideshow, but I don't know. She said it's a pretty powerful machine--not too old. The total exe. file is 54.2 mg. That doesn't seem too large to me. If autorun is installed on the cd, is there any way to then load the show on the hardrive and run it from there instead of the cd. Seems like I read something on the forum about it being better to run it from the hardrive. How do you accomplish that? Thanks-- Connie
  5. This is in response to a rather critical post from a forum member about the fact that my question was posted in two different locations. I am new to the forum, and am still trying to find my way around, and figure out how everything works. It appeared to me after posting the first question, that I had put it in the wrong place--hence the "redundancy". I'm very sorry for the offense, and will try not to let it happen again. I am very grateful to those of you have responded to my problems. Maybe the newcomers could be "cut a little slack?" Again, thanks to all of you who sent messages of help to me! Connie
  6. Thanks everyone--I'll keep working on it. Connie
  7. I am still having a problem with the autorun feature. I've followed the suggestion about the 8.3 rule, and my show still won't autorun. If I go to My Computer, and click on the cd drive, then open the exe. file, it runs fine. Here is how I set up the autorun file: open=dabiero.exe icon=dabiero.exe the icon for the exe file is: dabiero.exe and the icon for the project is: DaBiero.pte I burned all 3 of those onto the cd, but it won't load unless I click on the exe folder. Does anybody have a suggestion as to why this won't work? I've created shows before that will autorun on all 3 of my computers. I'm frustrated! Thanks for all the help--it's a great forum. Connie
  8. Thanks very much for your input. I think the file size might indeed be the problem. I guess changing the resolution to 72 dpi doesn't solve the issue? What is the best way in your opinion to resize images coming from the camera (Canon 10D) Sometimes I crop the images, but not always. Does that make a difference? Thanks for your help! Connie I have plenty of hardrive space, and do turn off other programs
  9. Hi--I just posted a question regarding this same issue of music and slides "skipping". I have made many slideshows successfully--I too am a professional photographer. For some reason, I can't get the dang thing to work right now! I have 3 computers, one of which is a laptop, and it does the same on all of them. The last time I tried redoing the whole show from start to finish, and when I run the preview before adding music, it runs fine. When I then add 2 or 3 songs (MP3 from hardrive), it starts skipping--before burning to cd, running from preview. Does it matter what size the files are--I'm using Canon 10D, jpg. about 1.5 mb, at 72 dpi. I have about 150 images in the show. I'm using only the dissolve effect, and I'm checking the synchronize to music box. I want the music to end at end of slides. I've done this successfully at times, and other times, it just won't work. Also, I have problems sometimes with the autorun. I have to go to the CD drive, and click on the exe. file to make it run. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Connie
  10. Help! I'm a professional photographer, and sell a cd with slideshow of images with music--weddings, engagement sessions, etc. Sometimes I've had good results--so I do know how to use the program. However, frequently, I will create a slideshow of, say 150 images, and it will run just fine until I add music, and then the show will "skip, or repeat the music" and the slide will hesitate or "jump" also. I am using MP3 files that are stored on my hardrive, and syncing the music to slides. Usually, I would add about 3 songs to a show of 150-200 images. Any ideas out there about what could cause this? Thanks very much in advance. Connie McDearmid
