Thanks everyone!!! I understand the nav bar even though my first show did have the nav bar and music and worked just fine. As for the "add new transition" I tried to find it in "customize slide" and the only time the word transition comes up is in the comment box at the bottom it says "Quick tranistion" which I think doesn't have anything to do with that. Anyway practice does help so maybe the more I do this the easier things will come to me like I now know I have to put the slides in order before bringing into PTE as once they they are there you cannot change the order.

Thanks Jim and Alan I think I may have done the save as then create as but will have to go without the nav bar for my presentation today. As for "add new transition".....I don't see that anywhere in my program but I guess what I could do is clear the slide list. Thanks again sam

Three months ago I created my first slideshow and was quite proud of it as got the music going and everything looked good. So I felt quite confident as I started a new one today for a new presentation tomorrow. Big mistake!!!! Somehow I created 2 slideshows with one having the music and slide transtions and the other with o music and no transition but had the nav bar which I don't have on the other one. I know I did something wrong in the saving but I do have the better one copied on a CD and tho not great it works fine. I can't fugure out what I could have done wrong and would like to redo when I have more time. The other thing is I notice that 2 of my slides did not come up in the show even tho they are listed. No matter what I do they will not get added to the rest.

Thanks Ken.....I tried that with the startup window and checked everything and an image came up but it looks like it is in an explorer window and at the bottom it says Run Help Exit...certainly not like the ones I have seen for samples. Also did what boxinq suggested with the messages but when I do that one that comes up in a little explorer window that says "Startup Window" and then there is my name etc but just like it looks in messages.....didn't think this is so great. Really appreciate your help and understanding...also my program doesn't look the same as the one in the Help Section...some of the functions are the same but the one under Project Options Main tab it is really different. I really don't find HELP so helpful so really good to have this forum and hopefully one day I can help others.

Yes boxiq....thanks......I have done all that and even put in a password thinking that may help but when I go to preview there is no startup page. I think I did sort the other problem out and am editing each slide in "Object Editor".

Ken as far as I know it was but must admit did not check it before copying to CD. However why would the text disappear anyway if you have put it in. Am now trying to add in the Object Editor to see if that works. I mean by the intro page the first page that comes up in the presentation where you may have a title and a background picture and your name etc.

Its probably some little thing I am missing but it is so frustrating to set up all your comments for each slide and then when I come back to it it has disappeared. Yes I do save. I did up a little mini presentation and looked good on my computer and then took to a friends computer and there was no text. Also is there somewhere I can go to get a tutorial on how to set up the Intro page.? Again it is probably sitting right in front of me but cannot see it. Thanks much

Yes I did figure that out finally as I saw it as a text file somewhere. So I created the file and then copied onto a disk then opened in Windows Explorer which worked so I am assuming it is the only place you can open. This was all an experiment as I wanted to see how it worked by putting on a disk and opening on another computer. I checked out the sound editors but may try to find someone who can help me with this as this is a little over my head. Thanks again.

Marian......I don't know why I just read that on a tutorial that someone did. I have no idea what you are talking about when you say "fix" first..... the picts are already saved as jpgs if thats what you mean.....remember I just got this and as much as I have spent hours some things are just not clear enough for me. I went to MP3 whaich was a horrable experience with all the pop ups and almost crashed my computer....think I will try what you suggested alrobin... and learn more about using a sound editor. Thanks for your help

I just got PTE and am having a couple of problems. I did the "File Save As" and started a new folder where I will put all the files in. However when I went to bring up in Photoshop it would not recognize the file nor would PaintShop Pro. Would this be because I have not saved as an EXE yet.? I am not finsihed with it yet as I want to insert music whcih brings up the second problem and I must sound really ignorant on this. Do I just go to MP3 and find music I like and download to my computer? Do you pay for this? I am not at all familiar with Mp3 as use Windows Media and like it a lot. Thanks so much for any help. I teach photography and this would be so useful to use for class presentations and think the music would make it.
