  1. Why would I need to purchase again when I have already purchased the program? tom
  2. my computer at time didn't have one as I beleive people who create virus also create the programs. Computer at present is a laptop so can get various degrees of prints as calibration doesn't really work. I hope to get a new desk top that will do for photo's only so that will be that. It has been suggested that I can buy one but as that defeats the purpose as I have already bought the program!
  3. I haven't posted for a while as I was getting fustrated with PTE. I recently got a Virus on my computer telling me I had 14 trogans on my D drive which is my CD writer and then received a e-mail saying if I sent $78 I would get an anti virus remover. I want to get a new computer soley for photography and no access to internet in order that I wont get any virus in new system. What I want to know, and I have e-mailed Igor but received no response is Can I get PTE on a CD to install on new system? STonewall
  4. Hi Andrew, I watched your show last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. I haven't been able to master the program yet so you have come further than me. Wether it was my headphones or not I dont know but there was a couple of times where music didn't come through clearly. Images were great and my only comment on them is that you showed memorial from a distance and then close up in some and in others showed from a distance but not close up. There where two where I wanted to see more but it didn't happen, one seemed to be a Jewish Memorial and the other had a Bear on top and had belgium and I think France as well so I wanted to see what they were all about but it passed on to another image and I was was left wondering. Apart from that as I said I enjoyed it very much. Where exactly is it? Regards Tom
  5. I have asked a few questions on this forum and when I try them out either are successful or I am lost in trying to implement them. I have still not mastered how to use nor have I created my first slide show. I have tried without success and have saved each time I make any adjustment to my first attempt, however each time I open it is always the same message and basically I have just given up as a lost cause. My first attempt has at the moment 58 slides on it at present six of which are a title sequence done on photoshop when it was doing some introduction on another program similar to PTE which I highjacked and used. When opening it always comes back witha message like images are missing do you wish to find, no matter how often I try I cannot get the files through the program and just list where they are then tinker a bit and save again only to find when I open again get the same message so I just get fustrated and leave again for a few months before I would look at it again. Just saw a thread re autosave so I just thought I would ask to see if anyone has come across the problem? Tom
  6. Hi Tom, Watched over the week-end and enjoyed the improvements. I can't really critise as I have'nt done a show yet except using another progam. I enjoyed the sequences of images even when you faded from sepia to colour it seemed to work, what I didn't like was the Chatter also when you had campfire in colour just did'nt look natural also did'nt like the Blue eyes on one image that followed a fire sequence. Only other thing was Lee was not in charge of the Confederate forces when Fort Somter was fired at, he took charge about as Commander about 1862 not sure of the exact date but can get it for you if you need it or let you know officer in charge at the time. However I thoroughly enjoyed it drop me a pm when you get time? Tom
  7. Hi Tom, As mark said download was long and I had also to turn down the volume. As far as I am concerned this is a great show and this was why I asked about Sepia tone. I probably haven't got the number off images you have but found that I was running about 6-8 mins. Also the venue was great no people in sight apart from the re-enactors, unfortunately I have even got a professional photographer smack in the middle off 2 images and the rest where taken at another event where they where in the middle of a square and no matter where you stood always got someone in the way. Also being new to AV I dont know enough to have enough knowledge on the fade in's etc but they sounded ok to me Now the Critical part that caught my eye and it has absolutley nothing to do with your photo's, as I told you I am fairly well up on this period of the history. I don't know how strict they are in there respective units in England however 2 things caught my eye which would'nt be allowed over here. (a) I dont think they had sunglasses! ( definately did not wear Celtic Cross ear-rings through peirced ears. I will Stand corrected if someone can offer me proof, but I think they both came later? I hope to get down to working on my own show I have used another program at present to give me an idea as to what it would look like, but have changed my idea's that many times it is basically all random at present and I think maybe I should have taken some close up shots as you have done with the weapons etc. At the start mine would have been along the same lines as your show but I came across something that has completely changed my mind as to what I want to acheive. I thought the music was great but I am looking for something slightly different, where did you get yours from? I have some music in mind which falls in with what I want but it is not exactly period and I used to have a list but have remembered it was in some magazines that I threw out. I don't think there is much more to be done apart from a few final tweeks. all the best for now Tom
  8. As you say we are two old duffers but I don't reallyknow my way round systems I know that messanger live is there but not how to set it up! I have liked the idea of AV for some time but used Proshow and didn't have to resize my images so having to do this in PTE is a bit of a pain and sometimes just don't have the get up and go to do it but to get shows for say competitions I will have to learn and as said before not sure about portrait shots or how to tackle them. I think if I could just get one done and have in it what i want I would forget about all other parts and stick to simple basics. Just there is no one local; to me who knows the program to show me how to tackle certain things. Now that is only the images then there is the sound and there I am at a complete loss as I tried to add sound to my rambled show it startoff ok but then when we get to a couple of slides it starts from the start again. I think I was working on one or two slides and there didnt seem to be any music and added it again and it start from the beginning again when running also have set up PTE someway as it always shows the show full screen and not in the preveiw screen and I dont know what I have done nor how to rectify it? Tom
  9. Hi Tom, I know you where only joking at least you are futher on than myself. Cause once I can get the show done I will have to try to do a sound track. I don't know wether you have an interest in this period or not but it is a great hobby of mine and I have a quite a few books left on the subject and thats after selling a lot plus other periods of history. My hobby at one point was Wargames and I have various period armies still from Napoleonic,ACW and other historical periods going back pre eygptian periods. Now if I could sell them I would be able to buy some more equipment for my new hobby. What music are you using? all the best for now Tom
  10. Thats a rotten idea as I haven't been able to get to grips with the program! Most of the shots where take at The Ulster American Folk Museum last year but I haven't used them as yet. I did do a very quick one using another program but no thought was put into it as I was wanting to see what it looked like. I have a rough idea of what I want to acheive but don't know exactly how to go about it also was toying with the idea to do all the images in a Sepia Tone rather than full colour to give a feel for the period as photographs would have that effect what do you think regards tom
  11. Hi Tom, Liked the shot of Lee! however don't agree with Patrick I have similar shots which where taken on what started on a very wet day and then dried up but was very over cast. I am hoping to do ashow using these shots but I am a newbee at PTE and am having problems. So it will be which of us gets finished first and I dont think it will be me looking forward to seeing your show? Regards Tom
