  1. I made this show a few years ago after a short visit to Venice during Carnival time. it was made in my "white border" days!! http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=9a2c901...2db6fb9a8902bda David.
  2. Indeed so, should we not regard these threads as bits of conversation in a lively pub somewhere (in Brisbane perhaps) Anyway, I have waited a little before commenting on Tom's latest to give full play to the many tallented contributers we have here. The photography is top of the range, as we will always expect from Tom. One of the problems I have had in looking at some of the AV's available to view from these boards have been the iffy quality of the photography. Does quality matter in AV or is the technique of sound track and fades etc. more important? The AV was very well done for me, though I do agree about the problems with the sound track. I have a project in mind with a similar theme, though shot in a very different location a few thousand miles from Tatton Park in Cheshire UK. Tom is a very tallented AVer, I can see some headaches ahead. David
  3. Ah, I have been to one of them and I do agree. All the talk seemed to be about "voice over" with the images never getting a mention. The av I showed had the dreaded line round the images, they didn't like that a bit, and another incident not related to av at all on another occasion left me distinctly p..... off with the whole av club scene. David.
  4. I'm new here, what is this AV group? David.
  5. Guys - this is just what I need, and I think, as with still photography it is very difficult to see your work in a detached way, as we are looking at it in, let's be honest, a biased way. The Antarctic trip was a cruise that was called by the cruise line, with some justification, an expedition. We had the comfort of a cruise ship and the "adventure" of the Zodiak transfers to the beaches that were a bit "hairy" at times. The icebergs were a surprise to me as we don't see them around the seas in the UK and I had not realised how beautiful they could be. I am not sure if any similar trips are available from other parts of the world - this one started in Buenos Areas and took us to the Falklands, South Georgia and the Antarctic peninsular. David.
  6. Last year we went on a "trip of a lifetime" to the Antarctic region. this is the first av result from the trip. http://www.mediafire.com/?n4qzyloeovl David.
  7. Hi eveyone, I have just joined your learned forum. I have dabbled in av from the early days...... like the early 70's, and although my main interest is in printing, I am hoping that I will get the bug and start producing some shows to add to the few I have done already that have been seen so far by not a lot of folk. Well this is a start anyway. David.
