  1. Place the cursor in the timeline where you want to make the change.

Right click - "Add Keyframe Here" - the parameters will reflect the position of the cursor and the settings of the keyframes on either side.

    Edit to suit.

    DG

I don't really want to add a key frame in the middle. This may alter the animation flow. What i need is to place the time cursor at the middle and change a previous/subsequent key frame (obviously only by numeric fields and not by mouse dragging objects). Then i wish to see what happens in the middle point.

It sometimes happens that you need to adjust some animation starting point but it matches with a zero opacity key frame. Then you need to restore 100% opacity (maybe on several objects), perform the adjustment then restore the zero opacity. Annoying.

If i were able to "move a little forward" in time and see the "faded in" object while being able to edit parameters i could save a lot of time. But there is plenty of cases when you really don't need an intermediate keyframe but need to alter parameters then see the result in some "middle point". I think that it should not be too difficult to technically reach this result.

  2. Sometimes i need to adjust objects parameters to accomodate the final result of very complex slides.

I feel the need to place the time cursor before or after the key point and still being able to edit key point attributes.

I currently need to select the key point, blindly change parameters values then move the time cursor in the interested location. And iterate more and more until good result is reached. With complex structures it's really annoying.

Maybe something like CTRL+click over a key point to enable a "sticky editor" mode and being able to see how my edits reflect on the time point i'm currently on?

  3. I tought being able to add children to a text object but i cannot manage it.

I need to move a bunch of text objects and fade them simultaneously. I tought that defining a "master" text and attaching all children under it would solve my issue but it's not possible in 7.5

Now i'm forced to work on each text object's timeline and dissolve them all. it's an hard work especially if you need to retune the timings if you made a mistake.

Working with frames doesn't work for me because if i change frame opacity this will show the frame itself...

    Any hints?

    Thank you! Umberto

  4. Hello... reading the forum discovered that it's possible to use multiple masks on images (say, two circles that moves on a single picture to discover it in two different parts).

But i could not manage to achieve that in 7.5

Every time i try to add a new mask to a mask container i get a new mask container and not two masks into a single mask container...

    What i'm missing?

    Than you! Umberto

  5. Have you got "Synchronize Soundtrack and Slides" ticked?

    Project Options>Advanced.

    DG

No, this option is not active (i never activated it because i never understood what it means).

It looks like while you are working in a time range "near" the slide containing the video it works as expected, but if you play all the video from the beginning when the video comes in it is out of sync (the video itself not its audio that i muted) with the music track. I really cannot well understand the rule, but it's what i'm facing now...

    Greetings! Umberto

  6. I found myself in trouble because i'm working on a presentation that includes some videos.

These videos contain at certain times events that should be synchronized with the music.

I arrange the video on the timeline to get the right video/music synchronization and when i play from preview it looks perfect. But exporting to exe or mp4 leads to a video/music loss of synchronization.

Is it due to the AVI file i'm using? I tried also converting with the p2e internal converter but doesn't seem to solve.

    Any hint please?

    Thank you... Umberto

  7. Umberto,

    Why Beta 14????

    The final release is here:

    DG

You are right, but at the time i was using Beta 14.

Anyway, the "issue" is still here in 7.5 final.

Well, it's not exactly an issue... it's all due to the quality parameter, setting it to 100% produces some high bitrate transitions that my pc cannot smoothly handle. Just lowering the sharpen effect on photos produced a lower bitrate transition that worked well.

    Greetings! Umberto

  8. I worked aroud the issue by re-rendering all my video footage at 60 fps then raising the video encoder output of PTE to 60 FPS.

Now the video runs without any noticeable glitch.

I also noted that i had a couple of over sharpened images (with lots of background noise) that caused the video encoder some difficulties about smootheness.

  9. Correct Xaver,

To do it with the mouse you have to SHIFT and Drag - using Customize clip they are already Locked or relative.

Not intuitive - that's why I suggested Lock Track.

    DG

Well, the feature appears to be already implemented, but in a different way than i expected.

Not straightforward but now i can shift all my clips without pain!

    Thank you DG and Xaver!

  10. I miss a function to easily offset forward/backward all (or single) audio tracks with all the audio clips that they contain. This would allow me to re-accomodate all synchronized audio when i insert a new slide at the beginning of the project.

Moreover, it would be cool to offset all audio clips that begin after the moved/inserted slide (maybe with option to deactivate the feature)

  11. Hello all!

I found a little issue in video encoding with 7.5 beta14...

I rendered the entire show in 1440x1080 HD video for PC or MAC. The video renders ok (it takes long time but that's ok).

During the playback everything plays super smooth (30fps) but there is a couple seconds when the video glitches like it was realtime rendered. This happens when a bright object enters the screen... looks like the encoder cannot handle this white area like the other image parts.

The white area belongs to an embedded video that, funny thing, if played realtime works smooth.

I don't understand what can i do to solve this glitch issue... its annoying for the audience to see everything smooth but this couple of seconds.

    Any hints?

    Thank you! Umberto Uderzo

  12. Hello,

I just noticed that there is some kind of magnetic alignment in the object animation window.

I mean... if i put two pictures in the object stack and define some time points in its timeline, when switching to the other picture and define other time points when dragging them on the timeline they will "stick" for a moment when they come near to other picture time points. But this happens only once, if i keep dragging the time point and then come back to the stick point it doesn't seem to stick again. And I'd like to do so.

    What am i missing?

    Umberto

  13. Thanks.

P.S. With the new timeline with visual multi-tracks the new PicturesToExe becomes look as a professional audio editor! It so nice to be able visually adjust audio clips and move them on the timeline. And all editing operations are lossless with undo/redo. Pictures of slides on the track above help adjust time points.

A little patience, waiting is almost over :)

    Finally a dream coming true!

    Great news!

  14. Hi Umberto,

See here the template of an example

Thank you for your example template Jean-Cyprien, now i see, that under the constraint you stated, the formula is correct.

I'll keep it for future referral, even if i found that perfection is not really needed for a real photo, and manually adjusting each layer "by eye" is usually enough to obtain a pleasant result (and faster than calculate each layer zoom factor).

Anyway, this thread was really helpful to my knowledge. Thank you!

    Greetings! Umberto

  15. @thedom: I think that your solution is not mathematically correct. I mean.... after posting the picture, i realized that the relative zoom levels needed to restore the apparence of the picture are not absolute, but they depend on the distance from the observator. You can see that by setting up a set of "aligned" layers, then moving all the block on the z axis. you will notice that they will go "out of sync" again.

If you wish, feel free to use text and pictures to illustrate the problem.

@xaver: I think that your hint is on the right way, but I fear we miss the distance from the observator to correctly apply the theorem... mumble mumble...

    Greetings! Umberto

  16. I'd love to see an Adobe Premiere like approach.

Slides timeline as usual, and tracks timelines under, with the ability to hide all tracks or to visually collapse on a single waveform.

Obviously, the audio "editing" is enabled only when all tracks are expanded and the collapsed mode is only to gain screen estate.

With audio editing i mean, more or less, what we already have now (only visual) plus volume enveloping.

I know this is really a challenge, but IMO it's the most versatile solution. Should be ok for users that want to keep audio editing in Audacity (just add a single track with single audio file) and for users that want to perform audio fades directly in PTE.

    Greetings! Umberto
