  1. Hello Friends After rendering my slideshow to AVI, the opening slide bears the file name at the bottom of the screen for several seconds. This serves to ruin the mood of my piece. How can I remove it from the convert process? Much obliged for any direction here. Mark
  2. Thank-you, yachtsman1 Executed precisely as you outlined. The disk burns, no problem, but when played back on my newer DVD player, the focus flickers throughout the presentation. Regarding the 'No Audio on PC Playback' issue. I cleared that up. I had not installed a decoder on my PC. This is a none issue now. Addendum: I just played back one of these 'flickering' DVDs thru my PC. The WinDVD decoder played the disk well with no flickering. Kinda looks like it might be something about the DVD player in my entertainment system... but what?!
  3. UPDATE: the latest version of PTE (5.6.3) did not improve my issue. The issues remain, and they are: * When I use Video Builder to create a DVD from a pte file, each slide flickers in and out of focus at about the frequency of a heart beat. (on playback) * When I use Video Builder to create a DVD from an avi file, the process immediatley errors out, indicating that it is unable to extract frame from file. * When I create an avi file and use Nero Ultra to burn the avi file to DVD, the dvd disk plays well through the television, HOWEVER, when inserted into a PC, there is no audio with the presentation. Can anyone see a coorelation?
  4. .. are you burning a slideshow exe to a data DVD or having Nero Ultra 7 burn a slideshow movie DVD ? ? It would be the later.. I'm using Nero to burn a slideshow movie DVD. The size on disk is only 1.4 gigs. I will install the latest PTE 5.6 and let you know. Thanks very much for the input!
  5. Hello Friends I have a 900 Megabyte slideshow set to music, and have burned it repeatedly to DVD using every method within PicturesToExe 5.6. My problem is with DVD playback wherein, the slides drift out of sync with the music. On one burned disk, the presentation outright hangs on a single slide about 3 minutes into the show, but the music continues to play normally. Also, many of the 'transition fades' are not smooth. I am using PTE 5.6 in conjunction with Nero Ultra 7 (burning software), on Windows XP Pro, w/2 Gigs of ram. Everything plays perfectly on the PC. Somehow, I am losing syncronization in the burn process. Can anyone guide me to a resolution in this matter? Many Thanks in Advance. MFetterhoff
  6. Thanks, Lin. Do you need only the PTE file, or do you need all the photos as well? On another note, I worked this out by selecting 4:3 aspect ratio within Nero's burn settings. Video builder produced the worst quality of anything I've tried. Photos were not clear. Text flickerd, presentation came off timing a little. All in all it was pretty bad. Given the simplicity of using VB, It would be nice to use, if it could produce results as you say it should. Mark
  7. Hi Lin. Thanks for replying. I am creating avi file with which to use in creating DVD. Video Builder does not provide near the quality I want, so what I am doing is creating a Custom avi file, and then using Nero (v/7) to burn that avi to DVD. Quality is far superior, except for the jittery pan issue.
  8. Hello Friends Im having a tough time creating a DVD with adequate quality. As it is, I have good picture quality, but several slides which 'Pan' to the left end up 'jittery' by the time I get it to DVD. This 'jerky' motion appears to happen only on frames wherein I began 'Zoomed in', and panned to the left. If I pan in, or out, there is no problem. If I pan in or in and to the left or right, the frame plays beautifully, and is very 'fluid'. Only when the frame begins zoomed in and pans while remaining zoomed, do I have this problem. I have been using MPEG4 codec, and have tried V1 V2 and V3. I have tried interlaced, and non-interlaced. Flicker filter and no flicker filter. I have also tried different aspect ratios. Still.. I cannot smooth out these pan shots. Any recommendations from you Pro's ? I'm using Pte v/5.6
  9. Thanks, Dave. I tried this but I get an eternal hour glass. Thought I had it there for a moment. Is it possible that the pte file is corrupt? the pte file was created on another PC and moved to the one I am using now. Could I be missing some reference in the registry maybe, on this new PC? Is there a tool to recover the pte if it is corrupt?
  10. Thank-you Ken.. unfortunately, this did not have any effect. I launch 4.49, and steer it to the pte file, but I still receive the same notice. This is killing me. I have a deadline for a corporate presentation. This pte was created with 5.5.. I can't understand why neither version will open the file. Appreciate the support. Thanks again. Mark.
  11. Hello Friends.. I recently had to use a data recovery tool to recover data from a failing hard drive. I was able to recover the pte file for my slideshow, but when I try to open it I get a notice indicating the following: "Project Files created with PicturesToExe v1.00-v1.60 are not supported now". The PTE file was created with version 5.5 How can I get the program to open this file?
  12. Thanks.. I threw the project into widescreen, then realigned the text. Playback looked great. Created the avi, then burned the disk. But on disk playback, there was no change. Text still not aligned. Something in the avi creation process is knocking the text out of alignment.
  13. I have found that this issue is relevent to the screen format on DVD Playback. (Aspect Ratio) The text is out of alignment when the DVD is viewed on widescreen only. When viewed on regular cheapo television, the alignment is fine. Is there a way to remedy this by altering how I create the DVD?
  14. Hello boardmembers What am I doing wrong? In Objects & Animation window, I have 5 sentences which fade in at regular intervals. I'm having difficulty keeping the sentences aligned in a perfect column. I align all sentences to the left and use the grid. However, on playback, one or two sentences are always slightly out of alignment with the other sentences. Using 5.5
  15. OK.. I chose MPEG4 v3 and selected 'Progressive' video, and it worked. Took about 15 minutes. Am I losing something by not using Interlaced?
