  1. I have submitted all of this info to Symantec. I also offered them some of the shows that had been deleted by Endpoint and they took those so they can do more testing. Here is a link to the information about Symantec Endpoint that deleted my shows. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2007071909500548 Will let you know how they reply.
  2. Attached is the Symantec Endpoint Protection which 'deleted' my shows. Link which explains the difference from the Standard or Corporate Edition is in this link: http://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/symantec-antivirus-corporate-edition-vs-symantec-endpoint-protection No...I cannot recreate some of them since some were done in 2003 and 2004 and files are not accessible to recreate them. I have since put them in a 'Do not Scan' folder, saved them in ZIP files and now have them stored in my fireproof safe. I am disappointed at the skeptics who just will not accept the fact that these executables have characteristics which even the best anti-virus companies cause false positives. Maybe WNSoft could consider something like 'certification' with these companies. That is....maybe prevention, rather than discover-and-fix might be beneficial to all. When we find this type of problem where I work...the 'quality' process initiates a proposed process change to see if a new process can prevent it from happening again. If it doesn't, then the process is modified until it is. Suggestion: What I am proposing is that 'both sides' see if they can find a joint process which, if implemented by both 'sides', will prevent the problems from getting to the field.....especially since this (based upon reviewing the posts back to 2004 or 2005) seems to come up and has to be re-resolved repeatedly....after people lose files.
  3. I installed Symantec Endpoint Protection (Firewall and Virus components)on my computer at home. During its first background scan (not a requested scan, but the background scan), it DELETED 7 of my Pictures to EXE slideshows (.EXE files)! It also Quarantined 12 others. The only files that were quarantined and deleted were Pictures to EXE files. These slideshows were created with P2E from versions I got in 2003 through 2009. A 'Backdoor Trojan' was the reason given. I recovered some, but the deleted ones seem to be gone for good. Had them on the backup drive but it did the same to them there. My Corporate Symantec seems to know that these are good files.....it does nothing to them. I have since put the recovered ones in Zip files and into a 'non-scanned' directory. This is the first time I have had this happen to my regular and backup files.....ugh!
  4. I need to know what to do to 'redirect' the PTE to find pictures in a different location after I move them. I am sure that there is a post to tell me the guidelines to use. I am about to move all my P2E stuff to a new computer but am afraid that I must keep my directory structure the same or I won't be able to edit slideshows.
  5. RESOLVED. Not related to other Firewalls. PC Tools responded back immediately. They asked that I try turning off Enhanced Security Verification. IT WORKED and all P2E operation and playing of EXE's works as it did before. Here is their response when I asked what it would do to my overall security on the Firewall by disabling this one function..... From PC Tools: I am glad to hear that disabling Enhanced Security Verification has resolved this issue. With ESV disabled, the only noticeable change in functionality of PC Tools Firewall Plus would be an increase in the number of prompts to allow/block applications and processes. Otherwise, there is no compromise in the level of security provided.
  6. All .EXE files which I have created recently with 5.6 hang my computer if I don't turn off my recently-installed firewall. This happens when I try to view them. Turn off the firewall, and I can view them fine. All of my older .EXE files created with older versions of P2E...back to 2002 run fine with my firewall on. What is being done recently which makes the .EXE files hang my computer? Note: I found that 5.6 will not run with my firewall (PC Tools Firewall Plus). So I have turned it off while using 5.6 But now I have found that even the .EXE's created with 5.6 will not run unless I turn off my PC Tools Firewall Plus
  7. Nobeefstu.....Thank you! Firewall was it!!!!! I had loaded a new brand a while back (PC Tools Firewall Plus). When I turned off the Firewall.......even with my Antivirus still running, P2E works fine. So...I am running. But I wonder what could cause it to prevent P2E operation? Is P2E sending info out (to WnSoft) when I run P2E? Normally my firewall tells me about any untoward activity and allows me to say yes. I'm now trying to figure out what to 'not block' to allow P2E with my Firewall on. Well...thank you again.....
  8. I see from this poste http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....VER+PRODUCT+KEY that I should have a reg.txt in my p2E Program files directory. It is not there. Does this mean that I do not have my old registration and that is the reason why P2E hangs?
  9. Running fine for 7 years. Most recently ran with Version 5.5. All of a sudden, I cannot pull in any projects or pictures without hanging my computer. P2E starts fine If I open a previous project.....hangs my computer...must reboot If I pull in the 1st picture to create a show....hangs my computer...must reboot Did a registry cleaner or malware cleaner get rid of my needed things? I tried uninstalling 5.5 and then installing 5.6....did not help. Did I accidentally get rid of my Key?....if so, how do I get my key back and reload.....did that in 2002 and I can't find it. I could not find posts on this hang so I hope someone can help.
