  1. I guess what I'm really asking is how to create the file that my client can use in multiple applications, not just YouTube. If I understand correctly, when I upload a MP4 file to YouTube, YouTube does some kind of conversion on it, whatever that is. How can I do that myself. In the publish menu, there's an option to "publish to YouTube". I want to "publish to my local hard disk", so that I have a file I can then upload to any number of locations, embed in a website, etc. Thanks...
  2. Thanks Yachtsman1... The file I have is about 35 mb or so, for a 1 minute, 15 second play time. If I want this embedded in the client's website, that seems like a mighty big file - I was under the impression I need to create a smaller sized version for website, FB, etc. Am I wrong? Thanks, j
  3. Hi folks, Thanks for weighing in. My deadline for solving this was the other night, so I suggested the client enable the looping option on whatever video player they were using. That seemed sufficient for what they were looking for. A side question that has come up. I need to convert the MP4 file into something that's compatible with the client's website, YouTube, PowerPoint, FB, etc. 1. Is there such a format? (I'm a photographer, and don't speak much video). 2. If so, I again haven't been able to find the option in P2E. Under the Publish menu, there's "Publish on YouTube", but I actually want the resulting file to be created locally (on my own computer), that can then be incorporated into various media as I mentioned, shared by email if possible, and so on. Thanks again for your help! Jerry
  4. Hi all, I'm creating an extremely simple slideshow via PicturesToExe 7.0, running on Win7/64. The slideshow portion is easy and complete, and I'm generating an MP4 file that works great. My question: Is there a way to create a video that will loop and play continuously? I'm just not finding that option (I'm sure it's somewhere obvious). I'm up against a deadline (later tonight), hoping for a fast reply... Many thanks! Jerry
  5. Hi everyone, Thank you again for the replies!!!! I took a long look at what we were trying to accomplish, and opted for the much simpler global project settings. The copyright doesn't jump around, the rest of the presentation just looks great, and all has worked out. Previous posts were right - were I to have put text objects in on a per-slide basis, I think the end result would have been pretty goofy. This was a precursor to a series of presentations we're considering, and accomplished what we needed after all. Again - many thanks! Jerry PS: FWIW, if anyone's interested, we posted a HD version on our FB page (images from two trips through SE Alaska by private yacht). Here's the link Alaska: Whales, Wildlife, and Water
  6. Hi Peter, Thank you for the reply. In using Project/Options/Use Copyright Logo, and deciding that would be good enough, I then used Create/HD Video for PC and Mac. However, the copyright logo does not show up in the resulting MP4. Other changes I've made are present and the copyright shows in the .EXE I also created. The intent is to have the copyright visible for a video I will be publishing to YouTube and FB. Am I missing something? Many thanks, Jerry
  7. Hello everyone, This is probably a oft-repeated question, but I wasn't able to find what I was looking for. Apologies if it's a duplicate. Running 6.5.7, on Win7. I need to create a presentation with our copyright always showing, so that it's in the same location throughout the entire play. Is there a way to do this, even if some slides pan and zoom? Perhaps a global text that's independent of what any individual slide is doing? Many thanks!!! Jerry PS: I realize there's the basic text I can add that's fixed. But since some slides aren't full frame, the copyright then "sticks out" into the black fill frame. I was hoping to have the copyright text always stay contained in the image area. Thx.
  8. Hello everyone. Something I'm running into, that only happens on my Win7 box: When I preview, many times the video simply freezes (but the music continues). I have to force-kill the app and start over. The computer is 3.5 years old, running a nVidia geforce 8600 GTS card, Win7 Ultimate, dual-monitor. It doesn't matter which monitor I preview this on. Location of the slide where it freezes is random (and sometimes, rarely doesn't freeze at all). I have WinXP also installed on this computer with a slightly older version of PTE, and things work fine. Suggestions would be very appreciated. One other possibly useful info: on one particular slide, when I go into objects and animation I get a PTE error about needing more current DirectX 9 drivers. I have the most current video drivers installed which has me up to DirectX 11. Thanks for your help! Jerry
  9. Everyone - that is fantastic news on all accounts, thank you for the feedback! Can I assume that all the wonderful PTE pan/zoom etc. effects work just fine? In more detail, I'm interested in creating movies that the user can either control with forward/backward keys, or they can opt to just let the slideshow play automatically. Also, I'm assuming that typical Apple touch-screen "gestures" for zooming and sliding an image will work in conjunction with the controls that PTE enables? Thanks again! Jerry
  10. Hi everyone, I have a set of slideshows that I want to enable to play on both the iPad and iPhone. Trick is - I don't <yet> own a Mac; everything's PC based. But I have complete access to Mac systems (iMacs, iPads, iPhones, etc.) Is there any documentation on 1. workflow to create presentations for the iPad and iPhone 2. Issues to be aware of (in terms of UI, functionality, limitations, suggestions) etc. Hoping to have a presentation to install and test with in about a week, but don't know the steps needed. Thanks in advance for any insights! Jerry One add'l question - does anyone have a presentation they've created for the iPad that I could install and view? Thx...
  11. Thank you all for taking the time to answer!!!! Incredibly appreciated!!!! Have a great New Year and beyond. Best, Jerry
  12. Thanks Peter, Understood. Even with Preview or Create, the actual presentation didn't seem to incorporate the auto-spread setting (I did see the both your comments and those in the app), but bobbled that part with my previous post just now (in terms of the wave-form display). The hard part, if I wanted to match slide cadence to tempo, and make those manual adjustments, then I would need to see the actual waveform displayed against the slide markers, right? So auto-spread isn't the solution, but rather setting the time-points, as you've said (and what I ended up using). Cheers, j
  13. Hi Peter (and again thanks for the prompt replies!) Actually, what you've described is the behavior I expected. However, hitting Preview (or Create) wasn't accomplishing this (and I attempted this many times, even after shutting down and rebooting the app). Similarly, the distribution of slides against the waveform wasn't updating; all remained unchanged. I finally gave up and assigned the select set of slides a uniform timeframe, after manually calculating what that should be and doing some minor tweaks to get this dialed in. I also bagged the idea of matching slide cadence to music beats/minute. The waveform isn't definitive enough to really dial this in accurately, and the actual song has some challenging signatures and change ups. But, now that I have this working manually, things are looking good... 'Til I need to have the app assign the time distribution/auto-spread . Thanks! Jerry
  14. I must be going a little nuts. I opted to go back to the basics and simply use the "auto-spread", so the slide display times would all be evenly spaced across the playtime of the music. However... I cannot get this to work properly. The slides retain whatever display times I initially assigned them, and no matter what I do, I can't make this work properly. There's no "apply" button here. Example, if I set all the slides to each have a 1 second display, that value persists until I manually change it. The "auto-spread" seems to be disabled, and I don't know how to recover this. It doesn't matter whether I change the values on the slides themselves, or at the project/global level. Please help! Thanks, Jerry
  15. Thanks for the quick reply! Do you have any suggestions for syncing the slides to the music tempo? The arithmetic isn't working as I thought it would, probably because the recording itself isn't perfect. Thanks!!! j
