  1. Strange! I have had malwarebytes on several computers for a while and never had problems with running any pte exe files of any kind.I also use ccleaner.

The problem was caused by an upgrade of version on Malwarebytes. This change caused Malwarebytes to see Pic2Exe as a potential threat or "false positive". There really was no threat at all. When advised, by Igor, Malwarebytes corrected their problem with a subsequent upgrade........the issue then vanished and everything is now working fine.

  2. Thas topic had been posted to the forum section with the name "Forum". There, general questions on the forum itself can be discussed, e.g. introduction of a new moderator, are the present forum rules helpful or not etc. This topic here refers to the PTE program itself. Therefore I moved it to the sub-forum "PicturesToExe", the place where it is located now. This is a very normal procedure.

This is obvious the see, the forum section "PicturesToExe"

    Regards,

    Xaver

It's correct what is said "you learn something new every day"........I had no idea there was a specific forum for Pix2Exe.

    Many thanks for your help.

    Best wishes

  3. Hello,

I'm using Pic2Exe 7-5-10 and have been doing so successfully since it was released. In fact it was working fine yesterday.

I also use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware programme. Both have been working fine together for months.

Today when I clicked on the Preview button in Pic2Exe the Malware programme cut in and said it had prevented a Trojan and had vaulted it.

When I clicked again on Preview the RHS pane on the main PIc2Exe page flashed on and off and did not start the show.

I switched off & rebooted. Cleared the Virus Vault, reinstalled Pic2Exe. Again I got the Malware warning and Preview did not run the show.

When I right click on a slide and try to play from the slide the same thing happens....a quick flash of the preview pane then nothing.

I can still publish a show.

    Can anyone help please.

    Thanks

  4. I'm using Pic2Exe 7.5.7 and Windows 8 on a laptop.

In the main window when I press the F4 key I would expect to get the "Light Box View" of all the slides in the show. This happens on my desktop with 7.5.7 and Windows 7.

However on my laptop with Windows 8 I get a pop up with Second Screen - Project to a connected screen option list. I cannot find the Light Box anywhere.

    Can you help please.

    Thanks

  5. Dave,

I downloaded "Classic Shell" software to restore my Windows desktop and Start Menu to something like normal. In the process, and I know not how it occurred, my appearance theme changed to High Contrast#1. This introduced the black background onto MS Word etc. Emails and the web pages ( I think it did it to web pages) and of course Pic2Exe.

Right clicking on the windows desktop, then Personalize and setting appearance to Windows Classic theme restored things to normal.

    Thanks for your help

  6. I don't remember seeing anything of this nature mentioned before?

Raise another support ticket in case of it not being something simple which someone else can help with?

Someone is bound to mention updating your Graphics Drivers.

Do you have another PC that you can try it on to prove that it is the W8 PC and not something else?

    DG

    Hello DG,

    Thanks for responding.

The laptop is a brand new HP. Everything works fine on my desktop. Windows 8 appears to be the culprit.

  7. The plot thickens!

Pic2Exe is installed and I am registered (with help from Igor). I declared the problem solved because the trial message had been removed and everything appeared to work. The fact that the background to the Pic2Exe "home page" was BLACK did not seem a problem. However when I try to build a project I find that the buttons such as Project Options, Customize Slide, Objects and Animation are a solid black and their titles cannot be seen. In Project Options the list of Main, Audio etc. down the LHS shows yellow titles on a grey background and is very difficult to read.

That said if I remember what the various buttons are Pic2Exe appears to work.

    Can you hello please.

    Thanks

  8. Leo,

I wonder why you copied my previous Post of 10:40.pm (above) and re-submitted it in your name

at 07:17.am this morning ~ but without any added comment from you what so ever. ?

Perhaps its a 'Forum-Error' as that has been playing up for the past 24 hours and I certainly did

check my Post for editing purposes and there was no 2.nd copy at that time of Posting .?

    Brian,

I did read it but if I did re submit it was an error. Although I don't think I did.

  9. Igor,

The following might be of some help ~ As you know since the introduction of Windows XP (all versions) ~ Microsoft introduced a utility called "WGA"

(Windows-Genuine-Advantage) whereby the PC would call Microsoft and check the validity of the installed (OEM) "Operating-System-Key-Code".

This utility was placed within the "OP/System-Installation-Disc" and from there it was transferred to the PC together with the full Operation-System

where after it would call home on a regular basis and because it was embedded in the PC.Registry the PC-owner could do nothing about it !!

With Windows-8 that has all changed ~ New (OEM) "Op-System-Key-Code" are now embedded in the Hardware ~ the "Machine Bios-System" and

apparently they can't be changed ~ but it can be interrogated by Microsoft at any time of their choosing ~ there is a universal name for that !!!.

Perhaps this new Microsoft procedure is interfering with your "Product Script-Key-Code" ~ its just a thought !!

  10. Leo,

In the meantime while waiting to hear from support, How old or new is your key registration ?

I ask this because if you have a Lifetime key and also a VideoBuilder upgrade key ... both keys must be entered into PTE to fully register it.

Thanks for responding. I was using my latest key, over the years I've bought Pic2Exe 3 times....upgraded, lost key etc. I've been using Pic2Exe since version 4 for simple click of the mouse presentations or fairly basic slide shows to music.

I've never had a problem loading it, over the years, on any computer using 4 different versions of Windows operating system....until Windows 8. No matter whatever I try I cannot get it to work.

    Thanks

    Leo

  11. Hello Leo,

    We apologize for this problem!

Please let me know - what antivirus/Internet security software you have installed on your computer?

    Hello Igor,

The only virus guard I'm using is Windows Defender.

I've had a reply last night from Pic2Exe support who gave me a new key and links and told me what to do. Unfortunately the problem changed. After following instructions to the letter,4 times in succession, at the end of installation I get a Set Up failure window telling me it has failed. I initially ignored it tried to enter the new , very long key, I was told told the key was no good. I sent a rely to Pic2Exe support explaining all this. I'm waiting patiently for a reply.

    Thanks

    Leo

  12. The quick answer is:

Add the Music to the first of the twenty slides via the "Add music or voice" button.

Divide the length of the music by twenty and apply the resulting time to each of the twenty slides via "Customize Slide".

Use the "Do not interrupt......" option in Project Options / Audio.

    That's just one way.

    DG

    Thanks DG......It's now working fine.
