  1. Already there have been many discussion threads on the new AVI option in the new Bets version of PTE. Clearly this new avi option is a tremendous strp forward and we must be grateful to the programer. However, there are still many mountains to climb before we can expect the same excellent resolution on the TV screen as what we get from the .exe file on a computer monitor. I have been experimenting with this new toy and would like to offer these comments to those wanting to show their slides on a DVD player. The quality will be good (vis Ulead Movie) but not as good as the exe file. It is better to display each slide without and fancy borders, i.e. fill the TV screen, otherwise you will probably get a load of flickering around the border edges. I have found the following sizes and resolution to be the best. In your photo editor (photoshop or similar) save the picture as size in pixels 1024 X 768 Save the image as a jpeg with compression set at 7. When these slides are made into a PTE slide show and a DVD created via the new AVI option. You will get very good quality. Remember also, that the television will make each slide brighter so decrease the brightness before saving an image in you photo editor Ron West
  2. When making EXE files, I know what size to make my still photos.....PowerPoint Size (1024x768) @ 72 dpi. But.... When I make a DVD that will be played on a TV, what size (in inches or pixels) and what resolution, (dpi) should I make the still photographs? Will JPG's work OK or should I use TIFFS? What is the ratio - proportion - of a TV? If a picture is 1024 pixels wide, how tall would it be to fill the screen with no clipping? Thanks !!! John

    help

Hi to all My AVI files are not recognized! I’ve spent many hours trying with different AVI converter downloaded from the net: no success. When I asked for Preview I only had sound on Windows Media Player (9) , but at the end of preview my computer always blocked and not every time CTRL+DELETE helped. All this was during the night. This morning, checking for preview, I’ve nothing in my player!!! My show is 71 Mb, synchronized , prepared, of course, with previous PTE version. I’m running under WIN 98 SE – Pentium III – 500 Mhz – 128 Mb Ram Need help
  4. I downloaded V4.20 and then started a test project by selecting a dozen or so pictures and added them in a new project. When I attempted to create a AVI file by clicking on the AVI button but it came up saying I had not added any music files and it would not let me go any further. Is it possible to set something so I can create a avi without any music? DonB1
  5. I have successfully made a DVD playable on my computer, but it does not work on my DVD player connected to my TV. Is there a disk compatability problem ie. rewritable DVD disks. Also the quality is not as good as the exe. file on PC. Do I need to make the file size larger on the original files in Pictures2exe, or am I missing a setting in Ulead. DVD burning is new to me. Any help would be welcome Graham
  6. I'm pleased to see the new version of PTE has a way to output an .AVI file, but am hoping I might be able to find other ways to generate a disc playable in a DVD player without having to purchase another program - Ulead DVD Movie Factory. Does anyone have any alternate methods? For instance, Nero will create an SVCD disc from an .MPG file, but not an .AVI and the one program I tested for converting .AVI to .MPG didn't like the PTE-generated .AVI What else might be possible? -- Thanks...
  7. I have been privilidged to try Igor's newest addition to PTE that he has just announced with the ability to burn our slide shows to DVD I have sucessfully produced DVD's that play a super quality PTE slide show on my 32in widescreen TV. The following information may be usefull as I found the best results were obtained by Selecting Windowed mode from the options. Make sure that any text you add is not close to the edge of the frame or it may be lost in the conversion to DVD. I used Ulead Moviefactory 2 with no trouble at all. Create the AVI file in PTE, switch to Ulead and create the DVD. Well done Igor, but £24 is too cheap. bbdigital
  8. How about the option of creating a CD that will play on a DVD is ther any chance of this? A lot of family do not own a computer. Mart
  9. After using your excellent program for various weddings, I have been asked if it is possible to place the presentation on a DVD, so that Granny does not have to sit in front of a computer to view the great event. Can you tell me if there is a way to achieve this?
