KyDan Posted January 9, 2010 Report Share Posted January 9, 2010 In August 2005 Hurricane Katrina ravaged the gulf coast especially Louisiana and Mississippi.In January 2006 a group of youth and adults from a small Presbyterian church nearmy home in Louisville Kentucky USA made the trek to a little town in Mississippi to try and help.We gathered early on Monday morning the day after New Years and loaded upinto 3 vans.We returned the following Saturday cold, tired and changed.....I know there are many photos of people. This slide show was one of thevery first I've assembled and my aim was to create a keep sake forthe people who went on this trip as well as something to show theirfamilies at home.I hope there are enough photos of the area to make it interestingto someone who does not know us.The file is about 48 MEG. smithrg Posted January 9, 2010 Report Share Posted January 9, 2010 Hi Dan D, it's amazing at the devastation, these poor people endured, and they are fortunate that there are good people, such as your friends and yourself, to help them.When the hurricane, was predicted, we were inundated, in Bryan, Texas, with refuges and many of them never went back, (my neighbors included). Your show tells a small fraction of the damage these folks endured, and the pain they still feel from their losses. The photos are a great record, of your trip, and the camaraderie, between the members of your group. I would, however, IMHO, use only one transition between the slides, using all of them makes for a "busy" show.Good job,on both the mission, and the show.Best regards, Gayland. KyDan Posted January 9, 2010 Author Report Share Posted January 9, 2010 I would, however, IMHO, use only one transition between the slides, using all of them makes for a "busy" show.Yes you are correct it is a bit busy.As I said, P2E was new to me and with this slide show I was like someone in a new car.I wanted to push all the buttons to see what they did.My text is often lost in the cluttered background of the photos as well but itwas a learning experience and I hope future slide shows will have improvementsthanks mainly to the great advice in this forum.Also FYI this slide show was my 1st file uploaded to the dropbox.com website.It allows you to upload files for sharing and it has a 2 GIG free limit.I can post a link for if it's allowed in this forum.I am not trying to promote them just sharing a spot on the webwhere I've found it easy to store large files such as P2E creations.Thanks for looking and for your comments.Peace!Dan D.
