daveat22
As a newcomer I would welcome suggestions as to a good digital voice recorder. I am aware of the zoom H4 but does one need such a sophisticated stereo recorder for a mono voice?
xahu34
Did you think of using a USB microphone like the "Samson C03U" and making your voice recordings with your PC (and Audacity)?Regards,Xaver
Guest Yachtsman1
Hi DaveI've been doing my own voice recordings for over two years now and gone through 6 different mikes/recorders. A simple set up using a mike into your computer is the easiest and cheapest way to go. A usb connection is supposed to be less noisy than the jack connection. I had the H2 recorder but wasn't happy with the buttons or menu so I sold it and bought the CO3U mike suggested above. The results from that again weren't to my ears up to the quality others were achieving, So after a lot of research I bought the Olympus LS-10 recording microphone. I put together a long user experience doc & it's posted on here. If you search for Olympus you should find it, otherwise let me know & I'll post it again. I've had the Olympus for over a year now and am happy with what I get from it.Yachtsman1
8321
Hello,I have the Olympus DS30 and find it good (nothing to compare it with). Use it as a portable device for sound effects. Also use it with a Rode NT4 mic plugged directly into the Olympus for voice-overs.Jeff
