Below is a link to the best-price vendor I've found.From the product description I think it has the main features I'm looking for. But so far I've only been able to read the product description and promo by manufacturer and nothing more. I'm wondering if anyone has used it before and can give me a third-party review of this device. Don't forget its use is limited to voice recording (well enough to understand the words, nothing else).Reading the technical (? ) specifications (see here), it appears to record with a tremendous compression, and this means it is suitable for this uses (copy and paste from manufacturer's site): i) recording personal memosii) recording meetings, seminars and lecture [i'm not so sure...]iii) recording telephone conversations of employees and family membersiv) recording dictationv) recording information, ideas, etc while drivingvi) playback recorded directions while driving. But Olympus DS330 seems better than Sora, and I saw its price is near the same (not to say Olympus name is a warranty, Sora isn't...).I'm sorry I cannot tell you nothing by personal experience, but it's quite impossible to follow continuous developements of such a market. ccmanz Posted January 31, 2003 Report Share Posted January 31, 2003 I have a voice recoorder just thought I wouldgive you some of my thoughts.I have the Sony ICD-BP150 and it works well.I convert a speech to wav then convert it to MP3so I can play them back on my MP3 player to review.I also use my voice recoder to record the family tellingstories of many years ago. I think sometime in the futureit would be neat to put a slide-show together of oldpictures of the family and them self telling a story aboutthemself.But, I have never tried to convert a recording to text.It says you can do this. I am not sure if you arewanting to convert a speech you are giving or aspeech you have heard. I know the speech to textprogram I have played with in the past you haveto read a pre-written letter to the program so it canlearn your voice.
